The little rainfall recently made a muddy mess, so Santee car wash to the rescue. I used the change machine and set to work. Wow... powerful water spray..didn't have recent experience with do it yourself spray.. almost lost my balance( not a spring chicken). Just moved nearby so I'll be back. Though Santee car wash doesn't have a membership, prefer because it's in town, clean and not so crowded. Came here because i've been wanting to try this car wash. Finally had $8 in cash cause I never carry cash, but since they are cash only bays and decided to give it a try. Most options do not work and the equipment is super cheap and not easy to work with. Left streaks on my car and made it look dirtier than it was before. Decided to go to my regular car wash HAPPY COW CAR WASH by Boardwalk and they never disappoint. Horrible place to go to. Looks like its not maintained. Do not go to Santee car wash. read more

I think our friend Patrick (review below) is talking about the car wash place next to this one. There is Marys Donuts and this one is behind them. There is another car wash place next to Marys Donuts on Mission Gorge....anyways...... This is a do it yourself place. Put in a buck for 2 minutes of time and pick whatever you want to do. I love it. No sense in paying someone 10 bucks to do something you can do yourself for $3 bucks. You have to be kind of quick to get everything done for $3 bucks but it can be done. They use super high pressure sprayers which is good to get all your gunk off, then they have the foaming brush which works nice. Vacuums are $1 for 4 minutes I think. So for less than $5 bucks you can get a decent car wash and get your ride looking clean. The only shitty thing is that there is always junk everywhere. Broken glass, trash etc...other than that its fine and I always wash my car here. Who knows, maybe someday Ill be there, and there will be a hot chick with a white Tshirt on washing her car next to me, getting soapy and wet while some 80s hair metal band starts playing.......A man can always dream....LOL. read more

Some of the settings don't work, other than that it is pretty cheap and helpful! It could also use a paint job or something cause the area itself isn't looking to pretty but if you just need to give your car a real quick rinse off this is the place. read more

Not sure who is running this place but they should close it down. It's like this place is set up to steal your money. I put in 10.00 to wash my car. I first used the brush to get all the edit tabs I tried to switch to the sprayer and I put it on the "soap" setting and there was no soap at all. So I moved on to rinsing, and then about halfway through the whole system shut down. So I had to move over to the next spot to finish rinsing all the soap off. Okay so then I got to vacuum and one the them wasn't working because it looks the quarters we're stuck into he change slot. No big fine so I pulled around to the next vacuum and it's works but even though it's in "Turbo" it didn't auction any dirt at all. So I tried to use the rest on my money I already put in for the car fragrance but. I surprise that is was completely out as well. Okay at this point I had a it enough so I had 4 quarters left so I tried to get an armor all and Guess What! Nothing. Stole my money. I spent about $14 on absolutely nothing and no I have to go to an actual real car wash that will get the job done. This place is absolutely garbage. read more

Should have listened to the other reviews! We just moved here so we thought we would give it a whirl. $20 (extra $2 for an SUV) and they ran it through the car wash, wiped the tires and that was it! They vacuumed the interior but it was really bad. Even the exterior windows were still dirty. We complained, they said nothing. The other places I have brought my car to would armoral the interior, the tires, vacuum the interior, car wash with a hand dry it for this price. I think that is standard for the price. I went to this "do it yourself" Santee car wash for the first time last week..My car is too low for all the normal "drive through" car washes so Im forced here..Anyways, I was very happy with how everything worked (except for running out of wheel cleaner) and definitely happy with the shade and time I was allowed..I do recommend a blower or some kind of air to blow your car off after the wash..They do have a spotless rinse but it doesn't work the beat especially when you drive out on the street which collect onto the water that wasn't able to be dried because of no ways..I would highly appreciate if somebody could let me know of a "do it yourself" car wash that actually has a blower or air in the same stahl or maybe by the vacuums? Save your money and time! Half of their. Equipment for the self service doesn't work. I've gone a few times now and it's one thing or another. Maybe if they had an attendant check up on it once in a while they would fix this problem. SCAM SCAM SCAM. Santee chamber of commerce should close this place down! Wasted $10 thinking I wasn't using the system correctly. Turns out the everything but two settings weren't working. Tire wash, engine wash, all waxes, conditioner, spotless rinse...all broken with no "out of order sign" The unit has a phone number to call for problems. Called it but its no longer in service. Went there this morning on my way to work. The first bay I tried would not accept bills, so I moved to the other open bay. I put $4.00 in to operate the car wash. As soon as I turned the knob to "soap", it became obvious that the juncture where the wash hose pivoted at the ceiling was broken, causing gushing soap dropping from above, but not enough pressure to even wash the mess off of my car from the dripping suds. I was out of time and patience so I drove off with gobs of soapsuds on my car. When I tried to call them using the number online, I got a disconnect message. read more

Every time I go there, the change machine or a stall is out-of-order. Today, both occurred. I went to get change for a $10 bill came back down all of Mission Gorge to find all the stalls busy except the out-of-order stall. Another stall had a foam brush leaking. I put money in and never got reimbursed. When you call the no. listed on the pay slot, it says it's a sprint id of 3010391810810 (something like that). This place was great when they first opened, now it's pretty terrible. Don't ask me why I kept going back but the last 3 times I went there they missed cleaning half the interior, left streaks on the windows, and didn't even touch my rims. One of the worst car washes I've ever been to. The drive thru floors are filthy, littered with screws, nails, and junk. The hoses leak and rarely are functioning as they are supposed to. No soap in the wash cycle ever. How this place stays in business is a miracle. Do not waste your money on this shameful " car wash". They should be closed down. great place to wash your car if you want to wade through trash, engine oil,oily rags while getting totally soaked by loose fittings bad hoses etc. All the while hoping that this time the deionized water is spot free. I have called in the past to complain to the owner while there but noticed the phone number has been removed.
