Entry bridge to trail.
Sylvia F.

Beautiful trail in Camarillo. Set off Santa Rosa road. I was lucky enough to visit it right after the heavy rains of 2017. Everything was lush green. The creek that flows along part of the trail was full and flowing strong. The hike is not difficult at all but long enough to feel the burn. During the summer I'm told one has to be careful due to the rattle snakes. There are some tables along the path as well in case you want picnic or just sit and take in the view. Lovely hiking place I'm sure I will visit often.

Beautiful scenery. It is an easy walk. there are picnic tables under shaded oak trees. It's a wonderful getaway and into nature.

Being over 1500 miles away and purchasing sight unseen, Anneliese made the process very easy. From contract signing to payment to vet records, I felt that I was making the best, informed decision. He arrived in great shape and you can really see the work/foundation her team puts into handling and putting "first lessons" onto the babies. I was told he loaded perfectly onto the trailer and he unloaded in the middle of the night like a champ. This team really knows their stuff and they really care about their horses/clients. In my opinion, Three Wishes Farm breeds some of the best, top of the line warmbloods for sport.

Anneliese has have been my Sherpa through that Himalayas of horse raising: my amazing 2-yr-old is a testament to that effort. She's kept me informed, and made me feel more like a part of the process instead of just a paying customer. Purchasing an in-utero foal is an endeavor fraught with risk and few guarantees; but I am grateful that I've done so at Three Wishes Farm. I went there hoping for just a live birth, what I got was a living legacy--one that I can truly call my own. For that, I am thankful.

Had a FANTASTIC experience today! It seems some of the less than favorable reviews below are…read morerelated to the other business with the same name. We met our guide at a private lot with direct beach access. (No crossing freeways or long rides to the beach) Our guide Steve was friendly and we were given clear instruction before mounting the horses. My husband had never been on a horse before and he was nervous but afterward said he had a great time and felt confident on the horse as we rode. While we did not book a private ride, our group ended up only being our family of three and it was a truly gorgeous day and awesome experience. If we lived local I would do this all the time!

This trail ride was perhaps the worst I've ever experienced for multiple reasons. Two of the…read moreemployees in particular were so rude, uptight, and condescending. I brought a water bottle attached to a lanyard and both of these employees felt the need to judgmentally ask me if I "really needed that water bottle" and "are you sure that won't fall off?" Of course, the water bottle did fall off. When we got back, the man rudely and unnecessarily remarked "I told you it would fall off." I was paired with a terrible horse who did not follow any of my commands, constantly ate the vegetation, pinned his ears at and would try to bite the other horses for no reason, etc. I have some experience riding horses and I was doing my absolute best with this out-of-control horse. In turn, I was continually being barked at by the guides to "pull up on the reins and release, don't let him eat, kick him, go to the back, catch up to the rest of the group, keep him away from the other horses" etc. In addition, we rode through a very busy freeway overpass with multiple onramps/offramps and cars everywhere. We also passed right next to an active railroad. Of course, a train roared past a mere ten feet away from us. The horses spooked and it was a miracle that no one was thrown off. We were not given any prior warning that we would be riding in the middle of these very dangerous environments. If there was a warning in the waiver, I wouldn't have known because we were so rushed to sign it and had no time to read it. We finally made it to the actual beach and spent a mere 20 minutes on the shore before riding back through the danger zones towards home. I spent the entire ride pissed off, disappointed and feeling unsafe.

There is a sink with soap to wash hands and a porta potty on location. A short walk away is the public restroom for the Rancho Potrero trailhead that is fairly new. For camp there was temperature screening upon arrival. For the trail rides there was a limit of 5 (family members or family pods), age 7 and up, and not more than 200 lbs. My 9 year old son enjoyed the camp more than the trail ride as it taught him basics and provided more opportunities to interact with the horses. He was the only boy at camp but he really likes animals. They went out on short walking rides only, which was plenty for my son. The trail ride was a full hour and we saw coyotes, hawks, and kites. Adults really enjoyed it, but it was a little long for the 7 year old. The other slightly unexpected occurrence was of the horses going through their natural bodily motions during the ride: fart, pee and poop. We were untouched, it just elicited alot of reaction from the kids. Since this is an outdoor activity, dressing for the weather is the main difference that will make your experience enjoyable. In July, we used thinner long pants with vented athletic wear shirts. For Nov, we wore jeans with double layered long sleeved shirts. They do not cancel except for extreme weather. Their website has more information about camps, lessons and rides. We had positive interaction and are grateful to have this facility close to us, and at a reasonable price. Definitely recommend and we would do it again.

I guess I must have been mistaken or labeled as a trespasser or must have been my skin color or the way I was dressed. My guess is I must have caught them in a bad mood or maybe because the weather outside was 86 degrees? I don't know?. I really wanted to learn how to ride a horse but I suppose it will be somewhere else I guess.
