We went here for lunch on our first day in Zurich. Most places closed for lunch around 2 PM, but this was open. It has both indoor and outdoor seating, and gives plenty opportunity to people watch. Here is what I ordered: - Margherita pizza for kids (they can make anything on the menu kids size) : this was delicious. The crust was thin and crispy. The sauce had a lot of flavor. We loved it. - Penne Arrabiata: this was delicious. So flavorful and so good. I finished off the plate. Overall, a great place to dine. The service was friendly and attentive. They did bring a bottle of water and charged us, even when I said to just give us tap water. Definitely give it a try. read more

Came here for dinner last Sunday with my boyfriend to celebrate our one-year anniversary of meeting each other (literally next door, at Mascotte). The weather was nice, so we sat outside and watched all the passersby enjoying their Movenpick ice cream. (You can guess where we went to next for dessert. ;)) There was some kind of event going on at Mascotte, so we got to hear some nice tunes for free. :) I got the quattro stagioni pizza because I like artichokes. I was halfway through my pizza when I realized, are European pizzas made with canned mushrooms? I seem to remember the mushrooms on American pizzas with a slightly different texture, perhaps because they are fresh? My bf's Michelangelo pizza was quite creamy and rich due to the marscapone, but still very delicious. 2 glasses of red wine rounded out our tasty meal, which cost CHF 58. CONCLUSION: This is a good Italian restaurant in a nice location by Lake Zurich. Plus, it's open on Sundays, which is a rarity in Switzerland. The only weird thing was when I went indoors to use the restroom, the waiter first said they had no restroom before pointing out the way. My bf thinks he was trying to be funny and flirt with me, but I'm knocking one star off for the weirdo. read more

There were seven of us, so lucky to be seated promptly the crowd starting building shorty afterward. The film festival was in full swing right in front of our corner table. The sea bass was very good but it was served with a bland rice. The Pinot was hood so I'm a happy girl! Roasted vegetables were a great choice also! Overall it was a nice average place. Location is perfect for access. The internal settings and ambient are above average. I really liked the centrally located open kitchen layout. The servers were good and attentive but acted like a lower budget place, talking loud, interrupting you while eating at the the time that served them well, but not convenient to the customer. The mixed salad and Calzone pizza plates I had were both average - 3 star is well deserved. I'm a well traveled business person, so probably a little on the picky side!! read more

You might think this is touristy due to the location in the heart of old town. But we decided it is busy every night because of the high quality of the food and the prompt service. Seemed kind of funny to be eating Italian on our first night in Switzerland, but we were glad we did. The pizza with and appetizer of bruschetta was plenty of food for 2 people. The pizza used high quality ingredients and I only wish it was here in SD. We enjoyed the Italian white wine called Regaleali from Tasca d'almerita and in fact, will try to figure out how to purchase this locally. My husband and I have been to this SL location a couple of times. It's great for outdoor seating and people watching around Theatrestrasse in the summer evenings. The restaurant is amply staffed so the wait time to be served is not long. The waitstaff is helpful and accommodating. When we asked to share a pizza the waitor brought the pizza out in two halves on separate plates. I've only had pizzas here, the quatro stagioni and the Michelangelo, which are both delicious and consistent with the SL pizza standards of their other locations. My favorite part about this particular SL is that Mövenpick is just next door! There's nothing better than following up the delicious pizza with some üüüber yummy ice cream.....Mmmmm!!! read more

I set about finding a venue for dinner that wasn't too expensive so I could entertain a friend visiting from the US. After a prolonged search, I decided to take him to Santa Lucia Corso. All told, our dinner of soft drinks, garlic bread, and two decent plates of pasta cost us $90AUD - believe it or not, in Zurich, that's not considered to be reasonably priced! All during dinner, the restaurant was completely packed, which didn't make for an optimal experience, as the tables are MUCH too close together. The service was friendly and quick, I'll doubtless return, but the overpacked tables don't make me feel like rushing. read more

Was in the mood for Italian food after having had mostly Swiss food during a two week long stay in Switzerland. I was not in the mood for having my order screwed up, however. The restaurant was packed for dinner, but there was a table available - the tables are very close to eachother, which offers little privacy, but that wasn't much of an issue while I was by myself, except for having to scoot in to let the waiters pass behind me everytime. Not a huge problem, but this isn't the place you'll find a secluded spot in the corner for a romantic date, the restaurant is packed too tightly and is slightly on the loud side. I was in Zurich for a job interview, and I've been practicing my German. I'm not perfectly fluent, but I know enough to order my food. I ordered a tortellini alfredo, as a starter, and a pizza as the main course. I tried several times to make it clear to the waiter that I only wanted a "porzione" of the tortellini (which was offered on the menu), and he double-checked that the tortellini was a "vorspeise", German for appetizer. The kitchen is an island in the middle of the restaurant, so you can keep track of the chefs cooking your meal. Within a short amount of time, I received a small portion of tortellini, just as I ordered. I figured that the pizza would have to wait, as I could tell the chefs were busy with numerous pizzas, and I obviously had a starter. After having been finished with the tortellini for at least half an hour, I asked a different waiter about the pizza - at this point I could tell that there weren't any pizzas being cooked in the oven. Turns out, they had only put the tortellini on my order. He hurried to tell the chef to start up a pizza, but I was done waiting, so I just paid and left. Needless to say, I was quite pissed that I had wasted so much time waiting for a pizza that never showed up, particularly after making it clear that I wanted an appetizer AND a pizza!! The waiter was very apologetic, but it was too little, and WAY too late. read more

This place was wonderful for many reasons. Location is beautiful right across the street from Bellevue plaza and Zurich Lake. The servers were so attentive and friendly. We went twice during our trip and every meal was very good. We went late one night and technically they had closed the outside. But I pushed to sit outside and they accommodated us. A great place to relax, talk and people watch. The pizza really was very good and they offer a number of great options. The pasta was pretty good as well. I don't know why people praised about the pizza here.. For the same price, Vapiano might be a better choice. You get bigger size pizza in a similaly crowded and casual place. Wine list was fine. Be it Zurich, Baden or wherever you can always rely on the Santa Lucia. With a wide range of pastas and pizzas, there is always something for everyone. The one in Zurich Bellevue is perfect to go before going to the movies next to it. I went with some friends and we where served quickly and didn't miss our movie. Only minus is that they don't take reservations and so for large groups it will be hard finding a table during dinner. Specially now in winter that can be annoying, since more people sit indoors and so there is less possibilities to get a table of you walk in spontaneously. I always get the oricchetti with gorgonzola and for me the small portion is quite enough, but for the bigger hunger they also great pizzas! For families this is also a very friendly place to go and what kid doesn't like past or pizza:) Hmmm getting hungry! read more

The ideal place for hanging out and watching people and activitites between Bellevue and Stadelhofen. Even more so when the weather allows sitting here. If the weather is fine, the service is obivously stressed, but after initial starting problems very friendly. The food is average. Robust Italian dishes no big surprises. The pizza is large and quite ok. Ideal place if the Globus Delicatessa is packed and you are not in the mood of spending tons of money. read more

Great location, decent food. Expect Zürich prices and a mix of business people and tourists due to the proximity of the place to businesses and the lake/Opernhaus/Grossmünster. Nothing really special about it but it's a successful franchise of a huge chain from Italy so it's reliable when you need to grab lunch or want dinner in a convenient/central location. The staff speaks English and is friendly but to the point because, hey, they're busy. It's white tablecloth inside and you can escape the sun or watch the pizzas being made in the middle and the pastas being churned out of the kitchen. Don't think you need reservations because there are lots of seats but I think make one just in case since it is Zürich and it's a reservation culture here. read more

Was in Zurich on a lay-over on the way to South Africa. Needed dinner before heading to the airport. Wandered into Santa Lucia Corso. Service was quick ( because I asked for expediency), but noticed most other diners lingered and enjoyed. The Stuffed Ravioli with Pomodoro Sauce had cherry tomatoes and a very authentic sauce. My Risotto with Mushrooms was very nicely prepared with lots of mushrooms and just a bit of pepper. House red wine was Italian and acceptable. My wife complimented the local lager beer that was served. Both beverages were suggested by our waiter. Busy place. Good value for Zurich. Located in the Opera District close to the lake. read more
