Back Black Espresso Bar was once a house that has been turned into a cafe. You can be seated one of three rooms, or outside. Sitting in one of the front two rooms gives a feeling of visiting a friend's home, a posh friend who has a cook and staff, that is. I've been here a few times for breakfast and have a favourite in 'Getting Figgy with it': sourdough toast topped with fig chutney, Meredith Farm Goats feta and a generous serving of bacon. A great mix of sweet, salty and the unmistakable tang of goats cheese for a well balanced and very filling meal. A close 2nd favourite is the french toast which can come plain, with maple and bacon or a sweet offering of lemon curd, edible flowers and icecream. The latter I am yet to try but my dining companion assured me it was pretty amazing. The coffee is excellent - I'm now a straight-up espresso drinker, no milk or sugar to spoil the purity of the pour - and I can say this is some of the best coffee I've had. Sorry that it's not on commute route otherwise I'd be a daily visitor.

I asked for no butter on my mushrooms and bread, the bread came back with butter, I asked for replacement bread, they bring me just ONE slice of a completely different kind of bread... I know it's just butter and it's just bread but some of us are lactose intolerant completely and if I get a negative reaction to anything I'm eating right now I'll just take further action for your negligence.

I travel a lot and the M8 on this particular occasion was just not my m8:P so getting off it wasn't a problem. I wasn't hungry, just wanted a pick me up and since there's a servo station on the roundabout as well as a Botanic Gardens nearby, why not. Turns out, that was the best move ever. The Muzz Buzz set up feels more like a food truck drive thru (without the wheels) and is established to the side of the servo. The staff was very helpful and we got talking about the Iced Coffee Granita which was THE BEST DARN ICED COFFEE I've EVER had. The staff member said it was made from skim milk so no guilt trip like with other creamy iced coffees. And tiny shards of melting ice that made the whole ice coffee amazing from beginning to end. The best thing is that it is made from a formulaic type product so it is this good all the time, every time unless the machine breaks down which the staff member did say happens sometimes on really hot days. I have since ordered other drinks from there and the staff are always very generous with giving you your moneys worth. The only problem I have, Muzz Buzz if you are reading this, is that there is not one single drive thru here in Sydney so please, PUHLEEEEASE consider setting up just a little higher on the map :)

I have had take away coffee and it is good this is my first breakfast. It was good and reasonably priced. One little thing it was a very good quality bacon but it was smoked. Not what I was expecting or use to. Some people enjoy that flavour. Also it was not as cooked as I like it but next and oh yes there will be a next time I will ask them to crisp it up (& the toast too)
