Overrated & overpriced. Disapointed. To be frank I think I could have got a better chocolate sundae at a McDonalds drive through.

Easily one of the best Chocolateries in Victoria and possibly even all of Australia. Amazing…read moreservice, super friendly staff, and a very chill location! They weren't lying when they said this place is for the Chocoholics. Looking at how the Chocolate is made and where it comes from was really interesting! I also loved the atmosphere, super comfortable and not too big and not too small. As for the Chocolate, it was amazing. My favourite was the Chocolate Fudge, super nice, beautiful texture, and melts in your mouth. Overall an amazing experience, 5 stars.

The Chocolate Mill is the place "For the Serious Chocoholic." Seriously, it's on the signs. You…read moredrive by a big welcoming one, and it feels like you've reached this secret chocolate haven just off the beaten track. Come in and enjoy some hot cocoa. It's not what you'd find in any café or chocolatier. This bad boy is a traditional Belgian style hot chocolate. Sitting at the bottom of your huggable mug is pure smooth melted chocolate. It's different to try, but once you master the stir, then drink method, you'll find it to be the chocolatiest hot chocolate you've ever had. Reaching the bottom, you will want to finish every drop of this melted chocolate. They come in different chocolates, milk, white, dark or chili dark chocolate. That chili dark hot chocolate gets me every time. Besides the café portion, of course there are two gorgeous display windows holding all of the truffles. Both windows are the same, so pick one and start choosing. It's sold by weight, so go all out, who knows when you'll be back? Staff here are amazing with suggestions, if you have food allergies or prefer something specific (fruit/nut/crème) and they'll point you in the right direction. Besides truffles, they do have take home hot chocolate mix, and bars and giftables. You'll feel good knowing everything is made on-site and it's all fair trade. They do have a glass window that let's you see their kitchen operation. The demo video is good to watch as well, it doesn't go for long but gives you insight into how much effort goes into a single truffle. Plus who wouldn't want to watch melting chocolate become these gorgeous fragile creations? Some of their truffles take 2 days to make and can have different layers of awesome. If you are making your way to Daylesford, you should definitely go and check out the Chocolate Mill.

Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, ginger, hazelnut, peanuts, coffee - it's all here. My favourites? The milk chocolate orange tablet, or the premium dark chocolate tablet. Divine. Expect great service, the sales assistants are fantastic and helpful. If you can't make up your mind or just need some great advice make sure you catch their eye. All the varieties they have recommended to me or my family have been winners. If you are after a gift consider getting one of the selections that come in various sizes. There are ones devoted to particular types of chocolate, or enormous ones that have samples of almost every flavour. A word of warning: avoid at Easter or close to Christmas. Don't even try unless it is within the first hour of opening.

I don't mean that they simply pour their own chocolate in the molds or package it themselves... but that they manage the entire production process from the very beginning. From the raw cacao bean right through to the samples handed out by their staff. I've always admired their dedication to this entire process, one of the few Australian companies to do so. I also like that they go for classic flavours and don't do anything too "out there" when it comes to flavourings and fillings. Sure, interesting flavours are great - but Haigh's does classic chocolate excellently and for that I respect them highly.

Its always been common stuff.Wine, champagne, nuts so so common chocolates etc Till this past month there was a small box containing 4 pieces of The Ministry of Chocolate praline samplers on the living room coffee table When I do consume chocolate I typically want the very best like La Maison du Chocolat from France I didn't think much could equal or top them but these are my new faves I purchased 150 dollars worth and only sorry that I didn't buy more They delivered them to me for free at my hotel within 24 hours beautifully & elegantly packaged The sad thing is I wont be able to get them unless I come back to Australia.Lucky for those that live in Melbourne they have a world class chocolate maker. It's astonishing that the quality of their chocolates haven't been reviewed here before. I was once impressed by Cacao also another high quality Australian chocolatier that I discovered onboard a first class Qantas flight to the states and certainly they are very good as well However my vote is for The Ministry of Chocolate easily one of the worlds best chocolatier. Its exciting to be one of the first to share the word Don't miss a taste test. They aren't overly sweet, light, understated and near perfection if heaven truly exists .The beauty of the outstanding ingredients almost makes tasting chocolate like its your first time. Everyone I share these with swooned in The US and Europe Can't wait to return and get more.I'd be afraid to ship them to the US so sadly I will have to wait for my next fix.Lucky Ozzies! :) Share these with your partner and probably anything could be yours in or out of the bedroom :);) Cheers
