One slice of toast for an over $20 dish (with the optional egg) seems a bit mingy to me and I was left wanting a little more. Second, the dish was under seasoned and bland without largish amounts of pepper and salt added. All in all, a slightly disappointing offering in my view. On a better note, the coffee here was very good and well up to exacting Melbourne standards. A lovely brew that was immensely enjoyable. Service was lovely. This is a local cafe with a good following. There's clearly a good bond here between the owners/staff and locals. For me though on today's experience, the food could do with a lift.

The place is always packed full of people, and the staff are always friendly. I actually quite like the fact that they have tables outside (there isn't a huge amount of room inside to sit down) and it is sheltered from the elements (though it does get a bit cold). As for snacks - there is a pretty decent selection as well, both sweet and savoury. In fact it makes me want to go back down there now (if it wasn't for that fact that it happens to be closed).
