There's an overall dark aura but it feels pretty cool overall. The coffee here was good. The onion muffin I chose was delicious too, best I've had anywhere for a while. Service was good here as well. Everything was delivered very quickly and politely. Nice place here. I'll certainly return for brunch in future.

It's located along train lines in a discreet quiet pocket of the Fairfeild suburb. In essence, to go on a search and adventure, Mr Wednesday awaits your arrival. Inside it has a fantastic fit out; with great design elements and a well planned floorspace. Shelving in the kitchen maximisies storage area without being too cluttered or cramped. Overall Mr Wednesday has a very pleasing presence, with relaxed confident service. Eating in, one is allowed to dine at the pace they wish, and nothing feels rushed. Staff do their thing, but only when needed, i.e. there is no minimal intervention for asking for anything further or how the experience is going. Perfect. Filter coffee is a winner, and the jerk chicken burger in a brioche bun (Dench qaulity) is sublime. The best part is, the aforementioned burger comes fantastic home style potato chips. All in all nothing to fault; switched on easy going staff in a pleasent evironment.

However, that's where the compliments end. After ordering, coffee took 10--15 minutes to get to the table lukewarm. 30 minutes after that, my partner's meal arrived, with no mention of my own. 20+ minutes later (well after my partner was done eating, his plate had been cleared and we'd inquired twice about my dish), my sandwich was delivered. Altogether, breakfast took 90 minutes. In this time, tables that had been seated after us were fed and onto second cups of coffee. Servers had come to sell us more coffee or juice, but never refilled our water or offered us a jug, despite the fact that said jugs were being refilled at the sink next to us and delivered to other tables regularly. We received one apology for the lateness of my meal, but no offer of a discount or complimentary item. The thing is, I get it. I worked as a waitress for six months in 2014, and sometimes the kitchen gets overwhelmed or a table is simply overlooked. But you always, always offer a sincere apology and ask what you can do to remedy the situation. Continuing to ignore someone always make things worse, and I suspect that once our server realized what had happened, she chose to avoid us rather than address the problem. I'm seriously unimpressed, and given how many cafes exist in the area, I suggest you look for coffee and overpriced breakfast somewhere else.

In a remote area of Thornbury next to one of Melbourne's busiest roads sits a tiny corner cafe with a big mural of comedian Larry David. In terms of theme, that's basically it. No novelty props or signs and definitely no themed names for the bagels. That's all you can eat here - bagels (we are not complaining, how good are bagels!). Larry David's is more of a take away joint. In fact they don't even have plates or ceramic cups for their coffee or bagels. It seems very wasteful for an area of Melbourne that is usually quite Eco conscious. Maybe that's it though, the venue does not really seem to know what it is. At the moment it's a takeaway bagel shop that charges probably a lot more than they should be charging. There are a couple of benches to perch at and devour your food, though no more than 3-4 people could squeeze in for a seat. The coffee is great. Bagels are pretty standard. We had an avocado one which for $10 was pretty plain and also a halloumi and avocado bagel which was quite tasty ($12). We liked that they had some newspapers to read while you waited for your coffee (in takeaway cups) and the records playing good tunes was nice. It's not a destination cafe and for the prices it left us pretty underwhelmed.

The first time I swung by I just grabbed a coffee to go, talked to the owner a bit and took some pics of the Larry mural. I thought nothing of it apart from the lack of seating and ambience. The second time I went by I purchased a bagel, it was kind of average, overpriced and stale... though I couldn't help but think that this was exactly the type of place Larry David would come to... and then complain about. So I went back a third time, but not to take a happy snap, or make Curb jokes that the barista clearly didn't get (seriously?) but because it's the only cafe near by beloved hairdressers and my need for caffeine meant another day, another slightly unhappy customer. Well played Sir.

Everything is done well. Nothing is over complicated. Review: The cafe is on the north side of lower Heidelberg road. It's a pleasantly laid out establishment. There are nice wood featured chairs and tables throughout. A wood covered front counter as well. Brick walls throughout too with one small tiled wall. There's a reasonable distance between tables. Nice lighting is also featured. Conventional music playing on the sound system, a bit prosaic for me but I could have just scored the wrong rotated playlist. Maybe needs something a little softer. Overall the space has a nice warm cozy feel that was very likable . I scored a pleasant greeting on arrival. It was hard not to notice the manager and staff interacting well with patrons, which enhanced the nice feel of the cafe. I had a beautiful coffee first off which came out quickly after I ordered it. It was a rich, dark, well made brew with impressive length. No half measures were taken on this long black. It was a beauty. The food is the key though, eh. It's a smallish menu here for all day breakfast and lunch. I found that an advantage as too many menu items can befuddle a simple soul like me. Nothing was overcomplicated and this menu offered ample choice I thought. I ordered the curds and beets dish off the lunch menu. This consists of goats cheese croquettes, heirloom baby beets, beetroot pesto and a frisée salad. It's a rustic looking dish but wonderfully so. It made for a gorgeous lunch that gave me all the freshness, health and flavour I was after when I walked in. The goats cheese croquettes were soft, delicate and exquisitely flavoured. They were really lovely. The heirloom beets of various kinds were excellent too. Tasty with just the right amount of give. Lovely greens with a good dressing as well. The side of peas and broad beans was really delicious too. I could barely fault these dishes which were very good. Maybe a tiny bit more seasoning on both dishes, although maybe many people want to control this themselves. I found myself preferring this cafe to a few of those in the inner north. The concentration here is on substance not style. I thoroughly enjoyed the cafe which has only been open a few months. Based on this experience, it will do very well indeed.
