I kept seeing Jack & Daisy in my Yelp feed, so thought I should check it out as it is just up the road from home. Having got in touch with a regular through Yelp, we arranged to meet there for a Saturday morning coffee. Judging by the number of people and lack of empty tables, this place has quite a following. And from what I know, it is the only decent cafe for some distance all directions.
We both had two lattes, and they were awesome. I'm guessing Toby's Estate coffee as there was a Toby's sign in the window, and it tasted like other cafes' coffee where I know Woolloomooloo is the house blend. Fantastic footpath seating, although there are only five outside tables.
I didn't eat, but the menu looks great and I was told it has been refreshed recently. The staff were more than happy for us to sit and not even look at the menu for a while, which pleases me immensely. I know the bills get paid by serving people and flipping tables, but I hate being pressured out the door or into ordering something more.
With a liquor license and plans to start set menu or themed dinners, this is a cafe to watch. If you live within a few kilometers it is also worth the journey to discover it.
Highly recommend and I will be back. read more
