Overall, I had a stellar experience with Dave (the general manager) and his Sanlino crew. Throughout the process, my family and friends had to endure me singing his praises. At a time when it is extremely hard to find any contractor, let alone a good one, I felt super lucky to have encountered Sanlino... they exceeded my expectations almost every step of the way. I had never had any landscaping done before, and exchanged near-daily emails with Dave to answer my myriad questions and refine the contract details before I agreed to sign the contract. Their price quote was the lowest I had received of several landscapers, *and* I was super-pleased by his responsiveness in allaying all my concerns, so I felt pretty confident when I decided to move forward with them, and excited to have the project start. It was an expansive project that included installation of a hogwire fence, new cedar gate, new cedar retaining wall, cedar-cladding of an existing wall, placement of paver stones, installation of pea gravel, boulders, over a hundred plants and trees. I wanted a Japanese zen-style garden, and he guided the project--and my decisions--well in its creation. They started on February 1st, as arranged, and though the project ended up taking a few months longer than expected, there were a number of reasons for that (such as the ice storm, and) including replacing some plants that rabbits had unexpectedly ravaged and suggesting adding in more elements--repairing gaps in my cedar decking and fence, adding landscaping edging--to refine the look of my landscaping. I never felt like my project was abandoned, rather I was grateful that they did not hurry through my project just to have it done. And though there were modifications needed as things came up, I never felt nickel-and-dimed; instead, I often felt that they expended extra time and effort in order to meet my pretty particular needs. Dave and his crew were very respectful, and he generally gave me a good sense of when to expect them each day. I already had some landscaping plans from years ago when I approached him, and he worked together with me to determine the plant list (organically over the course of the project rather than pre-defined from the beginning) and arrangement of the plants, trees, and boulders throughout my yard. He repeatedly gave me opportunities to sit with a given arrangement for a while and let him know if I wanted anything moved. The guys that showed up were usually the same few (Carlos, Hector, Felipe), and it was comforting to have that continuity. Dave did a great job overseeing the work of his crew--he was keenly aware of what they were doing each day they were on site (and he himself was on site at some point nearly each day), and having them make adjustments as he deemed necessary. I was very impressed by Dave's level of commitment, his artistic eye in creating my landscape and artistic hand in building my cedar gate himself, and his very considerate and kind manner. The prettiest or most interesting items cost the most and in my opinion aren't as good as the mainstays like the Pad See You or the salad rolls. Stick to the standards and you wont be disappointed. read more

Sanlino Landscape - Landscaping Near Me - Oregon City, Oregon

We hired them to install our irrigation system last year, and that went pretty well. It stopped there. Since then I have contacted them for several irrigation related querries/ concerns. The response time is abysmal at best. When Dave does respond, half the issue is addressed. Lately I have contacted them several times to try and speak with someone directly so I can understand the various valve boxes in my yard that they set up. No one calls me despite these attempts. Instead they choose to incessantly go back and forth via emails leaving half the concerns / questions unaddressed. As a result os miscommunication we opened the wrong valves leading to nearly flooding an area of our backyard. Had to figure out myself that the valve opening must be wrong , issued resolved by closing it back up. No thanks to Sanlino who installed all these - but refuse to explain to me how to handle these. Dave and his team did a wonderful job. We got 1,200 square feet of decking installed with Trex composite decking. We also had the entire backyard redone. Both projects turned out above and beyond our expectations and I would highly recommend their services. read more

They are a great company. I have a giant property and they made it look amazing. I got a retaining wall that flowed into a water feature. With that and the pavers they installed, my property looks like a palace. Dave was the designer and he is amazing as well. I wish I could give them more the five stars. I hired them for landscaping services. Unfortunately, they did not adhere to their responsibilities and I had to cancel their services before a year was up. They missed multiple weeks and I had to email them multiple times for them to do the job that they were supposed to do in the first place. It felt as if my landscaping was a burden on them despite paying $85 a visit. When the lawn was mowed they did a good job, but would spend about 15 minutes total for each visit and not police weeds or do other landscaping services they promised. I had to terminate their services and they still expect me to pay full price for 1/2 the service. I was very hopeful they would adhere to their promises, but they didn't. I hope other people haven't had these issues as well. read more

I didn't have a very positive experience with Sanlino Landscape. I originally reached out to them to lay down some bark dusk and handle some weeds that had grown out of control. They did a good job and the price was reasonable so I asked that they start doing regular maintenance. They did a fine job for a couple of months and then it seemed that they stopped coming. I'm seldom ever home so I checked my security cameras every day and no one was coming on my property. By November I had assumed that they had just closed up shop for the winter since most maintenance wasn't needed. I asked that they bill me monthly and I wasn't receiving any invoices so interpreted that as further confirmation. I received an email in February asking me to remember to leave my gate unlocked (they must be starting up again I thought). Reminder, i haven't seen anyone at my house or on cameras since November. Cut to this month (June 2020) and I receive an invoice claiming they forgot to bill me for 11 months. The total cost was $1350. I had to push for an itemized bill since the invoice was just a lump sum and judging by the look of my yard over winter, no one was maintaining it. They claimed they had been there twice a month each month the entire time. I mentioned it didn't appear anyone had been there and there was no footage on my cameras of anyone mowing. They didn't seen to care. I checked the days they claimed to have arrived and there was no camera footage. Also, the days they claimed to have worked didn't match communication I received in February. I very much feel like I was scammed. Unfortunately, I don't have camera footage for each day (cloud storage too small). When I brought all this to their attention, they didn't care. Also, not great when a company drops a hefty bill on you after a pandemic. I guess I should have kept closer tabs but this company certainly was billing me for services I never received. Unfortunately it is my word against theirs and they really didn't seem to care. Lesson learned on my part. read more

Summer is a busy time for landscapers and Sanlino did an awesome job handling our project with their other workload. They were responsive and provided good guidance through the process. They worked with us to use our ideas and create the backyard we wanted. We'll call them for our next project too. read more
