The staff was very professional yet made everyone feel at home. The drinks were good. The food was partly provided by the party host and served by the venue. There were two nice clean (slightly small) bathrooms with a shared sink. It's July so the weather outside was hot. Inside, there was plenty of air conditioning in the back room (by the dance floor) with less up front. Unlike large event spaces in Manhattan, this one had a more cozy intimate atmosphere. The location is accessible by subway and car. Alternate side street parking is available, depending on when you go - it can be a little difficult finding a free parking spot.

There was a street fair outside which they had told me daughter would be finished up by 3. It finished sometime around 7. There was NO SIGN - nothing. Apparently there's a sign on one side, but that door was locked. Most of the guests had a real problem finding it, which makes sense. They saw a street fair and big building with no markings on it that looked like a factory. We understood that we'd have to do everything, and thanks to her wonderful friends it ended up looking fantastic and was a great party. But the Loft really did nothing except take her money and open one door to get into the room. They literally couldn't have done less.

Once upon a time a metal factory.... now it is presently a lovely venue that hosts various private events. Yes, one can book 26 Bridge for their wedding, parties, anniversaries and all types of other celebratory functions. We came here on 2/2/19 to attend La Tablee NY Tasting (thanks for the tickets!). As we pulled up in front of the place we were kindly greeted by a gentleman at the front door. The La Tablee NY Tasting is a celebration of over 100 wines of the Rhone Valley (Northen + Southern France) . The La Tablee NY Tasting was already in full swing as we checked in, placed our outerwear at the coat check and were each given a wine glass and wine tasting booklet. Before proceeding towards any wine/food tables, we glanced at the map indicating where each wine/food table was located. We went to each table, sampled things and marked it off in our booklet. There was space to write notes pertaining to specific wines that we liked. Because I enjoy the flavor of white wine and since there was fewer of those, I can safely say that every single white wine I had was my favorite-lol. Along with the wine tasting, there were delightful tasty treats to sample from restaurants/eateries including Atrium, Andante Dairy, Bar Boulud, Celestine and Frankies Spuntino. The Charcuterie platters (fresh cheeses, breads, crackers, fruit and meats) were so good. We tried Toscanna Aqua Penna for the first time (yes, I am very late-lol) and this bottled water is smooth + refreshing. Shout out to Columbe staffperson Ellie as she made the best Latte.... Bridge 26 boats wooden floors and high ceilings in which the natural sunlight radiates through the venue. There are bathrooms on the upper and lower levels and the downstairs bathroom has a connecting "powder room" so that brides, birthday boys/girls and eveyone in between can freshen up and get ready for their festivities. 375 people can be in the venue for standing events and a bit over 200 can fit there during seated events. The Bridge 26 website has a section in which you can send them an email to make general inquiries on booking this space. The La Tablee NY Tasting was fantastic and it was cool to attend it at 26 Bridge.

I even put a deposit down somewhere else, but the space never felt right and I couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment. I kept looking... And then... I found Lights on Kent. The moment we walked in, my daughter's face lit up as you can see from the video! The space is stunning - bright and elegant even before adding decor. I knew right away this was our place. I cancelled the other venue immediately. It was the best decision I made in the entire planning process. Charlie, the venue manager, was awesome. He assured me I didn't need to overspend to create something magical. He supported me from start to finish, responded to every concern, offered creative solutions, and genuinely cared about us having a meaningful, joyful event. After the bat mitzvah, when I needed help navigating some vendor issues, he stepped up without hesitation. That level of support was priceless. Our guests were taken aback by how gorgeous the room looked and how special the atmosphere felt. If you're looking for a breathtaking space, flexible and wonderful people to work with, and a venue that truly cares about your event, Lights on Kent is it. I am beyond grateful to them for helping make my daughter's bat mitzvah feel as beautiful and special as it could. While I continue to have issues with a vendor, post-event, having their support has helped me process, helped me sort through the problems, and this level of support is above and beyond. We planned our wedding from out of state, and this proved to be be a non issue for the staff as they easily set up phone call and zoom sessions with us and our coordinator. We felt the pricing and expectations for what was available and offered to us clear and well explained. This is an amazing space that is essentially a beautiful blank canvas, meaning you can do as much or as little as you wish here. Our day of coordinator helped us secure many vendors to fulfill all the duties of the space, almost all who had worked events here before and had nothing but good things to say. When the day of arrived, we were given free reign of the space and politely checked in with every few hours to see if we needed anything on their end. When the wedding kicked into full gear we had a small unexpected hiccup (outside their control), which they promptly worked to fix and followed up with us after the wedding. I really felt they did an amazing job with customer service and providing a clean, open space to make our dreams a reality. We brought in two food trucks, and two drop off catering to which the space lended well. The house bar staff was great and the whole day truly was a dream. TLDR; This is an amazing space, that really lets you fulfill all of your DIY dreams. It's beautiful enough on its own, but lends well to any additions you want to bring in. The house staff was great and we would definitely recommend to friends and family!
