Oh, and if you can give me my own wee room with a roaring fire, personal TV screen and enough room to stretch out with a couple of mates and a few quiet pints that'd be nice too. Charge forward, the marvellous Bull Inn, the shining light of the Paisley bar scene which has been keeping Buddies happy since 1901, making it officially the oldest pub in the town. The Bull is as handsome a bar as you will find in the west of Scotland and its traditional fittings and homely atmosphere are almost worth the jaunt to Paisley alone. If you do manage to bag one of its four snugs (unlikely during lunch times and big match days) then make sure you cancel any prior arrangements. Trust me, you'll not want to leave here for a very, very long time.

The bar was very busy, it was difficult to get served the selection of beer was Tennents or Carling on draught, and a very poor selection of bottled beer. I had a bottle of Stella which was not very chilled a very poor Gin & Tonic with no ice or slice. The tables were cluttered with empty glasses and bottles,some of the other patrons left a lot to be desired one lady tried to lift my wee cuz's coat twice saying that she was pi..ed and did not know what she was doing. This used to be a very pleasant Family type bar, I believe the Management have destroyed the integrity of the business over the the desire for cold cash

Not really I pub I tend to frequent as it's more for people that are middle aged.Always lots of…read moresinging from the Karaoke when you walk past,it certainly sounds like people are enjoying themselves.The interior of the pub is a wee bit old fashioned but actually quite nice.It gets very busy at weekends as the drink is cheap.Tends to be alot of fights going on around this area so I usually try and steer clear around closing time as thats when it can get a bit heated.They also do a good selection of food during the day,which is actually very nice and prices are cheap too.

I'm not sure exactly what his course is though, quizometry perhaps? It was a Tuesday night and the place was a nice level of busy, not empty but not packed either, juuuust right. The quiz event was held in what is called the Living Room where the atmosphere is chilled out with sofas and big TV screens. They also have a room called the Playroom where you can play your friends on the Xbox in some cool gaming chairs. This room looks a lot like the kind of living room boy students would have in their flats! Just off the Living Room is an area known as the Rack which is filled with plenty of pool tables. The tables are all still in good nick as well since Caffufals hasn't been open very long. None of those strange damp patches, worn away areas and missing balls, yet! There is a separate girls only pool room which is garishly pink but the Rack looks more appealing to be honest! This area is called Absolute Angels which is a pretty tacky and naff, but at least it's a nice idea to have a girl's area I guess. Caffufals does sell food and cocktails as well as the expected alcoholic fare. Unfortunately I never sampled either of these. I was on the orange juice when I was there so that I wasn't impeded by alcohol during my quest for quiz glory! I'm not sure what Caffufals would be like as a Friday or Saturday night venue when they have a DJ and drinking and dares style games. It doesn't sound like my kind of thing but for your average 18 year old who enjoys the likes of Campus in Glasgow, Caffufals sounds like a similar place at the weekends. I really liked Caffufals on the Tuesday night I went as the people there were around my age and the atmosphere was relaxed and not too in your face for a week night. I don't imagine the same could be said for the weekends though from looking at the website! In case you're wondering, we came second in the quiz! Better than that though, we won first place for the best team name competition. Our team name? It was "Can I get pregnant if you quiz in my arse?"

My second time here! I joined a couple of friends for a game of pool.(I'm rather not bad at it…read moreeither, who knew?!) Upon entering I grabbed a pint of coke (I'm hardcore that way) and headed over to the pool tables where my friends ha already started playing. Since it's the holidays and it was the middle of the day, the venue was fairly quiet, probably around 10 people including ourselves and the bar staff, so we had the place to ourselves. A short while after, it was my turn for pool and as I maneuvered round the table I caught a strong smell of gas (not me, I promise) so I went and told the bar staff who immediately looked worried and asked me where it was and said, I'll be right over to check it out. TEN minutes later she came over and checked it (not that worried were you, dear?) Apparently there is a small cupboard nearby which has some sort of gassy thing in it which wasn't turned off, very good eh? Gas crisis averted, I went to the loo, nothing unusual there...except the toilet rolls are held with massive chains on the back of the toilet wall, which by the way...if you're of the female persuasion is a bit awkward. That much thought or effort should never have to be put into going to the toilet. Just sayin'. Over all? MEH.

Listed in the good beer guide - it has been a real ale haven in the cider/lager fuelled town of Paisley. The beer is well kept and the crowd is mainly locals. The pub does not have a lot of student patrons due to its "old man" pub reputation. BTW - the map is messed up for this pub. It is west of the centre of Paisley on the High St (not in Johnstone) near the Paisley Library and Museum.

I got a baked potato for a fiver. At that price I really didn't expect a well dressed side salad and lashings of tasty cheese, but that's what I got and I was very pleased, it was excellent value. People kept going back for cocktails while I was there, so they must be decent, certainly looked intriguing. For a pub in Paisley, it felt like a slice of the West End to me. None of it was fresh and after multiple wrong attempts to deliver the actual right order.. It still tasted bad. My friend even complained and said the Mac was so bad she couldn't eat it. We decided to stop at the Jam Jar in Paisley and it ended up being one of the best restaurants that I, personally, have ever been to. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. We had a young woman and gentleman wait on us and they did an excellent job. They were polite and professional. Another gentleman (possibly the owner) came up and checked on us as well and he was also an incredibly friendly person who added to the warm and welcoming ambiance. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is lucky enough to be in such a wonderful part of the world.

We were here to join an organized tour of northern Scotland, where we were promised all the Scottish food we cared to mange for the next week, and didn't really want to go overboard; plus, we'd been in Edinburgh the previous few days, and tried some of the local versions of lots of kinds of foods, so just wanted a quick somewhat-familiar bite as a respite. It was the right thing for us. Somewhat familiar, anyway. The burger was delicious, but ground a little differently, so not quite the same texture. It was singed on the crust (mmmm!) but cooked to medium-doneness in the inside (mmmm!). The roll was a beautiful, shiny egg-white-finished thing with excellent texture and an actual flavor of its own. We each got slightly different toppings; even though they had familiar American names, the outcome was just a little different - and seriously yummy. Get a hamburger or a cheeseburger! The fries were potato-y, perfectly done and very tasty. Skins on, peppered as well as salted, yum, get those. My onion rings were among the best I've ever tried, due to the wonderful beer batter. The sauce was OK, not great. Which brings us to ketchup. Heinz ketchup in the UK is just a little different from American Heinz. UK palates apparently appreciate a condiment that's slightly sweeter, with maybe a hind of cinnamon and maybe cardamom. I like it, but it's kind of a funny thing. Your tongue may expect one thing, but since it gets another, there may be some cognitive dissonance going on. Don't let your brain tilt to the "it ain't right" side! No! Gently, mindfully, pull it over to "Mmmmmm, this is good." Because it is. This isn't an American burger joint. It's a Paisley American burger joint. Dude, you're in Scotland. Enjoy it, it's good. Go there. BTW, the taxi stand is a few steps across the square next to the train station. It's about 5 - 6 pounds to the airport Holiday Inn, one pound cheaper than our Uber ride coming in - and the Uber driver was an asshole who gave us a lousy review, preventing us from getting the return trip. Whatever, dude. Sorry you're bitter that you lost your business, but might it be due to your attitude?
