Very good meat pie and steak pie, with generous fillings. The meat was so generous, meaty and heart warming - easily get a grown man full. Definitely worth a stop to grab lunch / snack on your New Zealand roadtrip read more

The donuts and pies in the display case looked great! But for some reason, we were attracted by a big corn dog looking food on a stick, with it's too 1/3 covered in ketchup. The food was labeled as "hot dog", but it was more of a corndog. A wrinkly looking corndog. With ketchup slathered on the top third of the dog. It was weird. But it wasn't bad. But I wouldn't want to eat it again. Maybe try the donuts or savory pies if you stop by. Or try the "hot dog" if you're adventurous.

Our favorite by far was the berry danish: you can really taste the quality. The layers are incredibly crispy and you can literally hear the crackle when you bite into it. The berries were fresh and flavorful, and the custard added a nice balance. At about NZD8 each, the pastries felt reasonably priced, especially when converted to USD. We also really enjoyed the apple crumble danish, which was delicious as well. The items we liked the least were the regular chocolate croissant and the ginger pear tart; they were fine but didn't stand out compared to the others. There are a few outdoor tables if you want to dine in, and they offer drinks too. We mainly grabbed pastries to go and brought them back to the townhouse, so we didn't dine in, but everything we tried was fresh and well made. The bakery is next to the restaurant and part of the Alpine Junction development.

If you're a vegan traveler using Queenstown as a base for long day trips, I highly recommend grabbing a few of these Sammie's to go. They are perfect for taking along on excursions. Be sure to arrive early because the lines get very long and popular items sell out quickly. Even my non-vegan relatives were obsessed with the pastries, so it is truly a spot where everyone can find something to love.
