After lunch, we decided to grab a dessert for later. We stopped in to check out what Cromwell Bakery had to offer. It's located near Souvlaki & Kebab Grill.
We dropped in on a Tuesday afternoon (around 2:45pm). There's a couple display cases of hot pies, sandwiches and pastries. We spotted the last cromnut (their "take" on the cronut fad) so we snagged it. Service was fine; we'd read all these people complaining about an old lady but she seemed fine.
- Cromnut ($3.50 NZD) - we ate this a few hours later, warming it up for a few seconds. Verdict: decent. A little greasy and the filling was similar to a Boston crème. I haven't had a real cronut so can't really compare.
