We parked a ways away in a parking deck. Getting to the field was OK, going back- A lot of "small" hills & steps. Stadium itself is not fancy. Very old, very dark, bathrooms are not well marked (in my opinion & seem to have more mens rooms than ladies. No real consessions, nooks around the bend & carts drinks & yes they have beer now at $10 & up. I don't remember seeing hotdogs or burgers. They have personal pizza, Chick fil A, bagged nachos, popcorn too. The stairs going down to the seats are VERY small & a lot of them. Well marked. I love that most seats have cushions & backs, but not all do. I think season holders pay extra for them?? May I tell you how CLOSE together everyone sits. Absolutely no room to move- literally sitting leg-to-leg! I was between my son & husband. Bith thin. I had to sit up on the edge of my seat to not be squished! Please be prepared when you go. This stadium is not for the best for elderly, folks with bad knees or who get winded easily! Friendly folks, community strong & to see this institution in person was pretty freaking cool!!! A WIN for Georgia too! They can't change the stadium, but a few spots of hand rails up those stairs would be VERY appreciated!! For this reason I give 3 stars. Experience, 5 stars!! I LOVED spending the day with my family- what a treat!!! Go dawgs!!!

Welcome to Stanford Stadium, home of the Georgia Bulldogs! I haven't been to the stadium in three years, and in that time, they've completed numerous renovations both inside and out. They've widened the corridors, added more seats, and made the entrance gates larger. From what I can see, everything looks fantastic and has helped reduce congestion in certain areas. The food options are impressive, featuring popular choices like Papa John's, Huey Magoos, Chicken Salt Chic and Chick-fil-A, along with some local spots. The prices for food are quite reasonable as well. Parking around the stadium is easy to find and moderately priced. The surrounding community is also lovely to stroll through on the way to the stadium.

Nice stadium, good food prices. Great views. Not a bad seat in the house. Nice campus friendly people.

This is one of the best venues in the United States. Great fans. Great tradition. When you walk in, you have "that feeling". You know you are entering someplace special full of history and tradition. Easily in my 5 top college football stadiums.

Married to a Georgia alum, and having two alum children, I've spent my fair share of time in Sanford stadium watching the Dawgs compete "Between the Hedges". It's always a fun time especially when we win! Some highlights of Sanford stadium: *The reference "Between the Hedges" is due to the classic privet hedge of boxwoods that surrounds the playing field. The hedge became a part of the stadium design in 1929. *seating of 92,746 makes this the 10th largest NCAA stadium *The stadium name is in honor of English professor, UGA athletic advocate and later University President, Dr. Steadman Sanford. Sanford was instrumental in moving the stadium from its former location, Herty Field, to its current location. *A large screen at the west end zone allows you to watch replays up close, highlight football players, be entertained by fan karaoke and more.

A few years back my wife and I visited Athens Georgia and we went to a lot of the different places and we wanted to go to Sanford stadium. I did not get to see a game here unfortunately because it was the middle of summer so we had to just walk around stadium take pictures look inside all that and it was awesome I have statues on the outside I have Georgia Bulldogs all over the place and it's a really nice facility facility

What more can be said about Sanford Stadium. The greatest college football stadium in the country. A gorgeous setting on a beautiful campus. Home to the Back to Back National Champion Bulldogs. Go Dawgs !!

I am a Season ticket holder to University of Georgia football at Sanford Stadium and can be found there 7-8 times a season on Saturdays. "It's Saturday in Athens- time to tee it up between the hedges" is the theme that gets everyone ready for the game. The stadium in on the campus of UGA and sits very close to downtown Athens (walking distance) offering many places to eat/drink before a game. Sanford Stadium seats 92,746 people making it the 10th largest for NCAA Colleges. A $63 million dollar renovation was completed in 2018. You can "rent" seat backs for the day or season. Sanford is Beautiful, loud and intimidating sea of red on game day. Games are played "Between the Hedges". Hedges surround the playing field. Typical stadium concessions located conveniently throughout the stadium. There are people who bring drinks, food, down the aisles for sale. Restrooms are plentiful and clean. The new video board is huge and loud. Entertainment also provided by The Redcoat Marching Band. If you are looking for tickets they can be found by scalpers downtown and on the streets. Many ticket holders also sell their tickets "on the bridge" outside the stadium gates. If you're coming to a game you can tailgate on campus, enjoy the Dawg Walk beside Tate Center (where the band performs, cheerleaders, coaches and players arrive at the stadium) or lounge in The Student Learning Center and watch other games on giant screen TV with many people. A visit to the BookStore beside the stadium is Also a must. Have fun and Go Dawgs!!

The most intense, energetic and passionate fans cheer for the Georgia Bulldogs and Sanford Stadium is our church. Sunday morning service? Not for us, we prefer to worship on Saturdays! There is nothing like a home game in Athens and the dawgs seldom disappoint. 95,000 screaming fans chanting and cheering on the red and black. There is nothing like a Saturday in the South! Sanford and the Dawgs do not disappoint! Woof woof woof!!

Great stadium and great game day atmosphere. Parking is not too bad for visitors. You can park relatively close in a private parking lot ($20 - $30) with tailgating capabilities. I did find the tailgating fragmented some. There are lots of tailgating going on close to the stadium but as a visitor you better have a Georgia hookup (friend) to tailgate there. Traffic is always a pain at most SEC stadiums on game day but I would say Sanford Stadium traffic is more in the middle of the pack compared to other SEC stadiums. The logistics getting in and out, and the stadium concessions and restrooms are good. The Georgia fans will give you a little ribbing as a visitor but nothing extreme. Athens is a great town and the UGA campus is absolutely beautiful. The stadium game day experience is one of the best in the SEC.

This is a great college atmosphere. The stadium is dated, but has the old school charm of tradition. If you get a chance, go in at the bottom and enter stadium along the hedges.

    Jeff H.

This stadium definitely lives up to its name! Very walkable and a beautiful campus. Plenty of parking, as long as you arrive at least 3 hours before the game, and much of the parking is free. And there really isn't a bad seat in the house.

There are a lot of restaurants within 0.5 mile walking distance but we did not allocate enough time. Luckily the concessions were extremely affordable-$3 for a hot dog, $3 dollar for a huge popcorn tub, and $2.50 for Dasani water bottle. Thanks for such an affordable meal while watching my daughter's college basketball team. The seats were well cushioned and the entertainment with the UGA dancers was fun to watch. Famous airings on the Jumbotron were Bengals football player Amarius Mims and Georgia football coach Kirby Smart. Auburn basketball team lead early, Georgia rallied, and in the end Auburn won. It was really exciting and I plan to come back for more games in the future! Thanks for a great, affordable sports date with hubby!

Stegeman Coliseum is home to the University of Georgia's men's and women's basketball teams,…read moregymnastics team, and volleyball team. It's located on campus, opened in 1964, and is named after Herman Stegeman, who coached UGA's football team from 1920 to 1922. My long-overdue review for Stegeman, or "the Steg" as it's referred to by UGA fans, is based on my experience here as a Georgia Tech fan. In basketball, Tech has played UGA more than any other school. To date, we've played UGA 120 times. Our record against the Dawgs is 64-56 (.533 win percentage). However, we're only 6-27 (.182) at the Steg, which shows you how much of a home court advantage they have over us. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/play-index/matchup_finder.cgi?request=1&year_min=1965&year_max=2019&comp_school=le&rank_school=ANY&comp_opp=le&rank_opp=ANY&game_location=A&school_id=georgia-tech&opp_id=georgia&game_type=A&order_by=date_game As the saying goes for rivalry games, throw the record books out the window. I attended the game where Georgia Tech came into Stegeman undefeated (12-0) and with its highest ranking ever at the Steg (No. 3). The unranked Dawgs upset us in a double overtime thriller, 83-80. It sucked. At least the game was entertaining; exciting and stressful. The thing I remember most about my experience here was when I was walking down the aisle to exit the arena. Dawg fans came up to me and literally barked in my ears like dogs. Okay... About three months after that game, we advanced to the NCAA Final Four and national championship game (2004). About nine months after that, we got our revenge against UGA at Alexander Memorial Coliseum in Atlanta (https://www.yelp.com/biz/alexander-memorial-coliseum-atlanta). Tech, ranked 4th in the country at the time, beat Georgia, 87-49. It was a real butt whooping. As a college basketball arena, I thought Stegeman was fine. If anything was memorable about it, it seemed a bit dated at the time. Over $20 million in renovations have been made since 2010 with the latest work to modernize the facility completed in 2017. The Steg currently has a capacity of 10,523, making it the 4th smallest basketball arena in the SEC (out of 14 arenas). Only Florida, Ole Miss, and Auburn have smaller venues.

This venue is in the middle of nowhere on the Lanier Tech campus. So when you pull in to the…read moreschool's parking lot, just keep driving back....yes you are in the right place. Unfortunately it was a rainy evening so everything was soaked, but we weren't going to let that ruin our 1 hour drive to see Tom Keifer. The venue is VERY small. Not sure of the capacity, but I will say that the best places to sit is in the center even if you are in the last row. We were seated stage right 2nd row and couldn't really see anything thanks to the pillars at the front of the stage and also the equipment blocking the view. Word of warning.....I was initially bummed I couldn't get Row 1 when I searched for tickets...when I got there, I was ecstatic I didn't get Row 1. I would be so upset if I paid for front row seats and had to essentially sit on the ground. Row 1 had to sit on the wet ground...it was the ledge/wall type thing with fake grass and brick. Row 2 was the first row with actual seats. It appears that all of the sections are this way. 1 row no chairs (sit on the ground) 1 row chairs, then repeat. The good part is the money spent there goes to the school. So that's awesome. The other good part is the bathrooms! there's no line and they are much bigger than you would expect, they are clean AND it's air conditioned. Concession ladies weren't the nicest. Before the show was over (even before the last song prior to the encore started), I went up to buy a water and was told they were closed. They are losing a lot of money by turning it away that early. I didn't sit VIP, but glad I didn't. The website describes the "Suites" as something awesome....What it actually is, is a tailgating tent for each "Suite" with a high top table and chairs, a bucket of bud light type beer, and a buffet setup across the way catered by Golden Corral. There's no fans, no AC, not indoors...not what one expects to receive for that kind of money. Over all the venue is just ok - It's very nice and new from a looks perspective, but not very professionally handled. It's nice in theory, but needs work. Oh right..the show - it started over half an hour late and then there were amp issues the whole night. Not sure I would go back here.
