The strawberries are very juicy and ripe! You MUST go when it opens! We got there at 10am when it opens and there was already a line forming so it is even safe to say come earlier and stand in line. Once the ripe ones are picked, they close. Definitely call ahead or follow them on social media for updates on that! They do not let you eat strawberries on the farm...not sure why it's a COVID/CDC thing so that is tough with a 1 year old who is obsessed with strawberries. I've heard other farms allow people to eat as they pick so I'm not sure what that's about.

It's amazing to think about how this goat farm is just outside the perimeter and in close proximity to the airport, as evidenced by the numerous jets zooming by overhead. Farmer Mary is passionate about her gang of genial goats and the delightful cheeses that they produce at this family-owned establishment. Plus she's a super nice lady in general and happy to talk about farming, cheesemaking, and nature. You can't just drive up to the farm and buy cheese, but they're sold at markets such as the Freedom Farmers Market and are a favorite of many chefs at popular Atlanta restaurants. The first thing my husband did was ask about the peaches. Of course that's the reason he went there. My search was for the peach preserves like my great grandmother made. I didn't stop there, I saw many condiments, salad dressings, old fashion candies. They also have a dessert eatery inside. Customer service was very insightful. Because we didn't go for the activities or petting of the animals, I can't write much about that. Overall, on my next visit I will try the famous MiMi's pound cake which they rave about. Also, I want the blueberry donuts which they only have on the weekends. Doggonit, I went to early in the middle of the week. My husband is really enjoying his peaches. A fun fall date!…read more Southern Belle Farm, located in McDonough, provides hours of wholesome fun and free parking. My wife and I arrived on a warm October day to enjoy the pumpkin patch and U-pick flowers. We arrived in the afternoon, but there was plenty of selection and nothing was "picked over." I paid $16 for a quart sized plastic vase for my U-pick flowers. They sell gallon sized buckets as well. Scissors and water are provided. Be mindful of bees in the field. They won't trouble you if you don't trouble them. There is an area in the back for you to arrange the flowers; I took full advantage of this because this trip doubled as a photo shoot. There were all types of people enjoying the farm; IG girls, families, even one couple using a wagon full of pumpkins as a baby announcement. Pumpkins range from $5-$20 each depending on size and breed. A nice young man named Luke helped us corral our pumpkins and carry them to our car. I didn't know they offered that service, but we tipped well. If you run up an appetite, they have a snack bar with fritters, ice cream, and lemonade. I'll be back next fall!

They offer private farm tours, carriage rides, a bed & breakfast, a wedding chapel and lots of flowers to enjoy. My family went on the carriage ride with Brian and Barbie. They use an original carriage from the 1800s which has been updated with fiberglass wheels and hydraulic breaks. The carriage is drawn by Moses and Aaron (Gypsy Vanner Cross horses). The ride takes about one hour along a mountain gravel road. For portions of the ride, Brian & the horses kick up the speed to around 40 mph. It's pretty cool and exhilarating. A fun family friendly experience. The kids enjoyed petting the animals. They have a donkey, a pony, fainting goats, chickens and pheasants. You'll also find daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, a type of cherry blossom and other flowers.
