I am truly so glad I got to experience this festive masterpiece. From the moment the curtain went up, the production was pure holiday magic! The set, the dazzling lights, and the powerful live band were incredible. Major kudos to all the unseen heroes behind the scenes--the stagehands, lighting designers, and choreographers. Every single detail was so meticulously crafted and flawlessly executed! The Cast and the Heart But the cast... wow! I've never witnessed such a large ensemble be so flawlessly in sync with each other. As someone with a background in theatre, I was actively counting beats as each performer hit their mark--it was a true masterclass in ensemble precision! What truly touched my heart was the moment the ensemble chose to honor our vets--the genuine respect and beautiful fashion in which they did it was unlike anything I have ever seen on stage! It's a moment of profound gratitude and connection. Behind the Scenes Dedication Even during intermission, the spirit of excellence continued! Every usher and server handled the busy crowds heading to the snack bar and bathrooms with such pride and professionalism. It's truly wonderful to see a team execute their jobs with such care. A special note: while this is Ann-Carol Pence's last time performing, she remains an intricate and cherished part of the company and isn't going anywhere! It's free to enter and our toddler really enjoyed the walking trails, the turtles and the water & train displays! Do check and make sure the water exhibit is open that day if it's in the summer bc of day camps if you're really wanting to see that. It is the coolest exhibit imo but they had a huge train table, tent for pretend play and tons of other educational toys for kids in the other rooms too They also took us down to see the reptile exhibit with turtles, snakes and lizards and it's a scenic route with waterfalls and cool architecture. Couldn't love this place more; it's a must visit!

We have a 6 month old baby and she crawled around in their small play space for the smaller babies. I will say it did say to remove shoes but lots of bigger kids were just running wild through this space with their shoes on and it was a bit much so we didn't stay playing in there long for fear our little would get trampled. Nice to have an area for babies in theory, but without someone running the area it's just not being respected which again is more on the parents supervision (or lack there of). Location-just a block or so off a main thoroughfare (Prince Avenue) Behind one of the beautiful old white mansions -but watch for the small sign on Prince -it's easy to miss. There is free (good) coffee (provided by a local favorite, Jittery Jie's coffee) and a tiny concession stand.

It's sad that not more college students take the opportunity to go here, and act or direct or just generally have a good time helping or watching the shows. As it is, I know with the tragedy of what happened at the beginning of the summer, the people are tighter than ever, and it has only strengthened their resolve. $5 for sitting anywhere in the theater just can't be beat. The theater is small (and I wish it was bigger) but the fine quality of the acting really just makes this place a treasure for Athens. Took a 7 hour road trip down to Buford, GA to attend one of Rock Band Atlanta's events at the Dam…read moreBar during their hosting of Harrah's "Total Rock, Total Rewards" competition. When my friends and I arrived there, we were impressed at the professional look of the set up. The Dam Bar featured full lighting, smoke machines, and a great DJ and PA set up. The actual stage set up was the best feature of the venue, in my opinion. 4 people could play full band karaoke each with their own high definition screens as well as audio monitors at your feet. Their Rock Band library was the biggest single selection I have personally ever seen! This is an impressive collection of almost every available track for the game, including track packs, Rock Band store songs, and the Green Day: Rock Band export pack. There is definatly something for everyone at Rock Band Atlanta. Fans of the game would respect the work they put into their set up and organization, and the casual attendee can't help but be swept into the excitement of the atmosphere. I saw experienced players mingling with the guy who just came in for a sandwich and a couple beers, and everyone was having a great time. I would highly recommend attending a Rock Band Atlanta event if you live in the area, or stop by if you are passing through the area...you will be glad you did!

Oktoberfest in Lilburn has always trumped this festival for me in the past (both are annually held…read morethe first Sat in October), but this year I managed to do BOTH. I think I may have started a new family tradition, we had so much fun. In 2013, the prices were $30 for general admission, $45 for VIP tickets. As a newbie, usually I would go economy class until I had a chance to "see how things go", but I knew I would want the shirt either way so it was a bargain price for me. Lots of VIP tables near the food and the bandstand, and event volunteers bringing your beer. Yep, the VIP tix are worth it... Admission allows for unlimited* tastings, and that's really what brings everyone out. I was expecting a lot more draft selections; most of the 120 beers available were in bottles. Also mostly absent were the owners/bottlers/distributors. The few that I did meet were very excited to talk about their line, and I love meeting people who enjoy what they do. The other tables were manned by volunteers, many of whom studied up on the beers they were pouring. I may have imagined it, but I think at *least* half of the attendees were volunteers. Which is an even more economical way to attend. A lot of them had either just ended their shift and were off to tasting, or had been tasting and were about to begin a shift. Food from local restaurants was good, too. Weather was perfect. Next year, the first Saturday in October is the 4th. Don't ask me to come to your your aunt's birthday party. No, I can't drive you home from getting your wisdom teeth out. So sorry, your wedding will just have to go on without me - I'm busy that day.
