It's an all- volunteer venture, providing lots of opportunities to spend an enjoyable evening watching or participating in the events. It's not a large theater, so all the seats have a good view of the stage. The sound system and lighting are fine. Parking- limited, so go early. Location-just a block or so off a main thoroughfare (Prince Avenue) Behind one of the beautiful old white mansions -but watch for the small sign on Prince -it's easy to miss. There is free (good) coffee (provided by a local favorite, Jittery Jie's coffee) and a tiny concession stand.

And I have to say, this is probably one of my favorite places in all of Athens. I really like Town and Gown. It's sad that not more college students take the opportunity to go here, and act or direct or just generally have a good time helping or watching the shows. As it is, I know with the tragedy of what happened at the beginning of the summer, the people are tighter than ever, and it has only strengthened their resolve. $5 for sitting anywhere in the theater just can't be beat. The theater is small (and I wish it was bigger) but the fine quality of the acting really just makes this place a treasure for Athens. GO, get involved, and enjoy this place that I hope stays in Athens forever. 5 Stars well earned.

It's a 1920s school turned into a theater, with a majority of the original school intact. I was able to get some last minute tickets for the show, The Producers, literally 2 hours before the play. Cost was not bad at all, $25/person. They offer a VIP experience too, for another $25/person, that comes with heavy hors d'ouevres and non-alcoholic drinks (not offered on Sundays). Parking was not bad. We got there early and ordered drinks from the bar (fairly full bar of offerings). Costs on alcohol were not bad either. It was fun touring the school house and seeing all the old pictures of class photos taken there, and all the frames photos of previous plays put on. Even the school rooms had the window above the doorway. There is also a restaurant in back with some great mural art/paintings on the wall. The theater was fairly large and presented well, with cushy seats and convenient drink holders. My expectations were low and I was very much surprised by the skill level of the cast and how well the show was run. I've never been to Broadway but I've been to the Fox, and this show would equal some of the stuff I've seen there or at other theaters. Very talented cast! The show was also incredible. Overall, this was a wonderful visit. If you live in the area, you'd be crazy not to check out a show here!

The acting was excellent. Everyone in the cast kept character even when in the background. The main cast was powerfully on target and very believable and enjoyable. The supporting cast was able to bring the whole stage to life. Did i mention how much I enjoy it? Lastly, all the voices were powerful and right on key. I wish we would have known of this theater these many years of us visiting Greenville. If you can catch a production...do it. You will get your money's worth and leave with a smile. Did I mention it was clean, well written and better than most Broadway offerings today! Well done, keep it up! New very comfortable seats too!

It was outstanding. This production was a first ever stage screenplay written based on the C.S. Lewis Narnia character. I was amazed at the quality of the production and in particular the puppetry and the intricate scene changes. Having seen productions on Broadway as well as in Los Angeles and Toronto and even the traveling Broadway series a our local Peace Center, I can say that the Logos production can proudly stand side by side with these venues, losing nothing in terms of the production, execution and talent. The facility and seats are different, of course, but I cannot say enough how impressed we were. Highly recommended and very well done.

It was so well performed and the ending made me tear up. I must mention the set because it was incredible. So, whenever we take a trip somewhere and if time allows I try to find the local theater and catch a play, sometimes two. And, so since our last trip to Blue Ridge did not allow for a show; I decided that this time we would catch one despite our schedule. I went online (BlueRidgeMountains.com), started doing some research and found the Blue Ridge Community Theater. After clicking here clicking there I learned that their next show would be taking place the same time our trip...YAY! The theater is located literally across the street from the Swan Drive-In (which by the way is on our itinerary for our next visit--so keep an eye out for that review) the parking lot is small and was full (much to my surprise) the Saturday we visited. You may have to make our own parking space in the lot, or park on the street, but don't worry about parking on the street it's not like parking in LA, your call will be safe. When you enter the box office is located directly in-front of the main double doors. To the right end of the hall is the snack bar where you can get candy and drinks and to the left you will find the restrooms. I believe staff mentioned that the theater sits 100+/- people, so it's a good size and seating is standard stadium seats and set up. We had tickets in the front row and I had some concerns about the height of the stage. I didn't want to be looking up at the stage and even further up at the actors, but don't worry, the stage is at the same level as the first row so neck kinks will not be an issue. They company did a great job with the set and the overall performance was fantastic. They play we saw "Whose Wives are they Anyway" was hilarious! The actor's comedic timing was on point and my husband and I along with the rest of the audience laughed to no end. Ok, now being from LA the movie capital of the world where everyone is an aspiring actor and aims for physical perfection, I was glad to see actors who A) can act and B) look like normal people. I get tired of the perfect looking man and woman...I don't know about your but I can't relate to them and I like being able to connect with the actors in some sense. So, not only did the Blue Ridge actors know their craft but they are individuals who you can connect with. They are real people unpretentious, polite and eager to meet the audience. They are grateful to be doing what they love and they don't have the LA entitlement complex. We definitely plan on becoming regulars at the theater and look forward to our next show. If you, like my husband and I, like small production plays then I give Blue Ridge Community Theater a try. Oh, and tickets are available on-line and they take credit cards.

I had been searching for something to do over the weekend, and came across info for the play. I thought I had found all the performing arts places in and around my area, but had never heard of this place, and sure enough, not even on Yelp yet. So I had to go check it out! The building is in the small city of Pelzer. It is an old but well kept Auditorium (don't you love plays preformed in buildings with history?) It had lots of free parking out front and was easy to get to. All the seats seemed great, but I did snag the front row for the same price as any other seat, which is awesome! I mean $10 to see a live production, that you can tell they really put their time, and poured their heart into - It was a great night. They have a good balcony area too if you prefer to see it from above. The crowd had a good energy, I knew I was in for a treat, especially when I walked in and saw the set. Everyone involved in getting that together needs a serious pat on the back. There were several very young actors in this particular play with very big parts, and honestly, since it is a community theater, I can't say I expected much. Boy, was I wrong! They did such an amazing job, real talent here! Everyone really blew me away, there were no weak links. A very amazing story, preformed here in the South (where the message still needs to get across sometimes). I'll be back to check out more plays here! Go check them out so they stick around too, we need art like this.

I am truly so glad I got to experience this festive masterpiece. From the moment the curtain went up, the production was pure holiday magic! The set, the dazzling lights, and the powerful live band were incredible. Major kudos to all the unseen heroes behind the scenes--the stagehands, lighting designers, and choreographers. Every single detail was so meticulously crafted and flawlessly executed! The Cast and the Heart But the cast... wow! I've never witnessed such a large ensemble be so flawlessly in sync with each other. As someone with a background in theatre, I was actively counting beats as each performer hit their mark--it was a true masterclass in ensemble precision! What truly touched my heart was the moment the ensemble chose to honor our vets--the genuine respect and beautiful fashion in which they did it was unlike anything I have ever seen on stage! It's a moment of profound gratitude and connection. Behind the Scenes Dedication Even during intermission, the spirit of excellence continued! Every usher and server handled the busy crowds heading to the snack bar and bathrooms with such pride and professionalism. It's truly wonderful to see a team execute their jobs with such care. A special note: while this is Ann-Carol Pence's last time performing, she remains an intricate and cherished part of the company and isn't going anywhere! Her legacy shines brightly throughout the show. I had the most incredible, heartwarming night out! A huge thank you to @auroratheatre for the gracious invite.
