Ligia is a real seamstress. After trying a few places for alterations in the past I ended up here…read moresimply because it was close to my work and I had a mending emergency. Drop off was questionable, I went when they first opened and the woman who greeted me didn't speak English. We had trouble communicating, but I had pinned the dress I needed hemmed and was able to tell her what I needed and when I needed it done. She gave me Ligia's card and said to call her later when she would be in. I got a call from Ligia before I had a chance to call. She said she would be able to get the alterations done the same day, no problem. When I went to pick up the dress I had to wait a few minutes while someone else picked up their clothes. The work they had had done was really fun and unique. It was then that I realized I could ask Ligia to do some custom sewing for me in the future. I'm excited to have a real seamstress so close by! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. I came here with a baggy button-down, weird fitting pants, and an oddly…read moreproportioned jacket. I was met with wonderful hospitality by the owners and clear communication as to what could be done to fix my suit. A few days later, my expectations were exceeded! This was my first tailoring experience. To say the least, I was nervous. Marisol's husband was a real gem for sharing stories of her extensive history with design and tailoring, and I was even able to see a piece she was currently working on. This helped assure me that I was in good hands. Marisol pinned the suit around my body to give an idea of the outcome before sending me on my way. Less than a week later, I was blown away by how closely she listened to what i had visioned the suit to be. The baggy button down became the best fitting shirt I owned after Marisol deconstructed, tapered, and reconstructed the garment. The pants I requested to have taken in at the waist and hemmed just above the ankle were perfect. And top it off, the jacket made me feel expensive after she took the waist in and shortened the sleeve to my arms' length. Let me tell you, the CONFIDENCE you feel from a suit that fits you exactly how it should. Better yet, the price was fantastic! I expected to spend a fortune for the amount of work the suit needed, but the price was quite the opposite. I strongly recommend having Marisol as your tailor. The couple is wonderful. The work is remarkable. And the price is the cherry on top.
