The cottage is clean, bathroom is clean, microwave and the sink is clean! the rooms are pretty small. The view is breathtaking in the Morning. Just make sure you bring some snacks or ready to eat food because the nearest restaurant is 20 minutes away.

The have Apple TV with casting which I don't often get in hotels, even expensive resorts. The AC and heating are highly responsive so you're going to be comfortable. They also have a remote control fan which is nice for anyone who regularly sleeps with the fan on. The grounds were very well cared for and there were different activities throughout the day you could participate in. The location is a little remote which is nice, but hard to explore being that it was our first time in Maine. The food was pretty good for the most part. We liked the food better at The Tiller than Nubb's. The drinks are really tasty, but can get spendy. We overall really enjoyed our visit and stay at Cliff House. Rating would be 4.25

There was an easy and wonderful set up for coffee and the house toiletries were the nicest I have ever experienced at a hotel! Slept super well. In the morning there was tons of hot water in the shower and a bag of overnight oats and fruit left on our door for breakfast. It was a beautiful morning, so we took our breakfast outside to our lovely "front porch" and noticed the bicycles available for guests and the heated pool!

BUYER BEWARE-READ BEFORE BOOKING and learn from our experience:…read moreI'm not gonna sit here and write to not stay at this motel - the room itself was just as advertised, clean, roomy and comfortable, updated bathroom (shower wasn't cleaned well, but that's minor in comparison to the rest of our experience) BUT- do not expect to have any assistance after their lobby closes. They advertise an "after hours number" they DO NOT answer. We stayed here for one night and went out on the strip until around 10pm and when we returned we realized we forgot our key in the room. We went to the front desk which was locked and dark. To preface this I completely understand it's on us for forgetting a key. But, no answer on any of the 3 phone lines provided and one was specifically for "guests only, after hours" after a couple hours, MANY calls and voicemails later, we decided to call the non emergent police line which we were told they were unable to help without permission from the owner - they also tried calling the number they had with no answer either and we were advised to either sleep in our car or book another hotel. We called all 4 businesses they have shown on their building assuming they're owned by the same people, no one was able to help there either. We ended up able to unlock our vehicle from our phone and sleep in it (we had no actual keys as they were locked in the room too) we continued to call the after hours line throughout the night and into the morning but we ended up locked out of our room from 10:30pm to 8am when the front desk opened. The front desk manager (I'm blanking on her name) was lovely, super friendly and apologetic but explained someone else named "dalton" was responsible for the after hours phone and clearly completely neglected to answer. She refunded the cost of our room which was great and gave us a couple gift cards to local restaurants ($35 worth), but really it didn't take away the fact that we had the worst experience in a hotel ever, we would've much preferred to just be able to sleep in the room. Again, decent motel, absolutely awful customer service, if you stay please triple check you have your keys when leaving/you have everything you need before they close.

It has been under new management for the past several years and we highly recommend it! Our cottage was beautifully done with a queen bed, futon couch and in the upstairs loft there were 3 twin beds. All were nicely made up with fresh sheets and bedding. There was a kitchen with coffee maker, microwave and fully equipped with clean and nicely displayed plates and utensils. There was a grill on the deck . The owner Maria is welcoming and took us to our cottage where the AC was already on (there was a heat spell on the 2 days we were there although usually AC probably wouldn't be needed). We did not eat there although for a family of 5 this would be an affordable but elegant way to stay on Lake Sunapee1
