I have rented the bigger slips here before and found you can negotiate better deals than you will…read morefind at the other marinas that have fixed prices. I have to say that I really like the people, the family atmosphere and the overall convenience of the marina. You can always park close-in so hauling stuff to and from your boat is painless and the ship store gives 10% discounts for gas. Slips also have private pump-outs and allow live aboards.. I also love the location of the marina on Hudson Bend near Starnes Island. It's really out over large area of water with great views so you feel like you are 'on-the-lake' in a big way, not tucked away in some cove. It almost feels as if you are on the ocean at times and when storms roll and and the lake starts white-capping, it's really awesome. Additionally, you can actually 'buy' slips here and save a ton of money over the long haul on slip rent... which is one of the most expensive aspects of big boat ownership. When you're done, you can usually sell for more than what you paid and over time, it's almost like free rent. No other big marina of Lake Travis offers that. I'll definitely be looking to buy one for my next boat.

This in one of the only if not the only marina on the lake that the slips are individually owned…read more I think that is confusing for those that think they are always renting a slip from the marina itself. The HOA does have a few slips that are owned but not many. There are monthly HOA fees even if you purchase the slip but I enjoy that we as owners and tenants of the HOA have a say in how and what the marina for the most part spends the dues on for repairs, movement of the slips as the lake level changes and replacement of necessary items. The marina is currently being rebuilt with a new design but the inconvenience for the time being will be so worth the wait once it is absolutely complete. Thank you Landan for your care in watching over the marina and most always being available when we have concerns or questions. We are family here and we treat others how we would like to be treated and things are always good as far as I have experienced. When the lake is low who doesn't have a bit of a walk so that is always to be expected.

I originally reserved 3 weeks ahead. However, the weather didn't look good, so to avoid 1 day fee,…read moreI cancelled the reservation. (They have a policy if you cancel, they will give you credit in the future, but I'm not planning on being back.) I called on the morning I wanted to go and they had boats available and could accommodate. I arrived and the staff were all polite and helpful. Cooper K took care of coordinating my rental and was fair, professional, and went over the "rules" with me in a polite yet thorough manner. The other team members did as he directed to get the boat ready and ensure easy launch. The boat was in great condition, well maintained, and was very comfortable for guest and handled well for me (captain). A couple of recommendations for VIP - 1) use 150' lines on anchors vs 100'; and 2) rent the "lilly pad" floats. Buying for $375+ isn't practical if the customer is from out of town. I recommend the business and I am not affiliated with it. The staff did not know I write reviews.

If you're heading out on Lake Travis, ask for Cooper -- he is the definition of above and beyond!…read moreWe came to VIP Marina with high hopes for a great day on the water, and Cooper made sure that's exactly what we got. When things weren't going as planned, he jumped in without hesitation and turned what could have been a ruined day into an absolutely incredible one. His positivity, knowledge, and genuine willingness to help made all the difference. Cooper didn't just do his job -- he went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of, comfortable, and back on the water. VIP Marina is lucky to have someone like Cooper on their team. He's the reason our day on Lake Travis was one for the books. We'll absolutely be back, and we'll be asking for Cooper every single time. Thank you so much !!!!
