We are not experienced boaters, but that wasn't an issue because the staff provided a quick training on how to drive the boat. Unlike many other company's renting boats in the area, you can rent for an hour if you want. Many other require 3-4 hour minimums, which can get pricey, especially if you'd prefer a short excursion. There is free parking there and the pontoon we rented had a bluetooth system for playing music too. You can't beat their prices, so overall value is A+ in my book. If I'm in the ATX area again, I'll return.

The boat arrived perfectly on time where we were told it would be. The boat was pristine, gorgeous. I have rented pontoons before and this was a very different experience. It was also a tritoon. It cut through the water like butter. At one point everyone on the boat braced ourselves as we went through another boat's wake and all exclaimed how impressed we were that we barely moved. The anchor was crap and gave us some issues in the first cove we wanted to swim in, so we ended up moving to a less windy cove and anchored up on the rocks on the shore so we could all enjoy the water without fear of the boat drifting away. All in all, this was a wonderful experience and I will use Lake Travis Boat Rentals for all my future boat rental needs!

One time I jumped in the water at Lady Bird Lake, and I got morbidly ill for days and could not get out of bed. I would highly not recommend getting in the water there. That being said, Lake Georgetown is quite different and it would seem that the water is pretty clean there. It probably goes without saying it is much less crowded than Lake Austin/Travis or anything near downtown, and it has plenty of space for picnicking, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Usually I will go running around Lake Georgetown because it is much less crowded than Lake Austin, and there are shorter routes depending how far you want to run. I guess the one thing I will say is that the trails to "hike" or walk around the lake are not as established as some other hiking trails I've been on, so just be prepared for that and maybe don't wear short shorts if you're going to try any hikes around the lake.
