I am an employee of BAYADA and I have to say, I've never worked anywhere like this before. At BAYADA they say that everything comes down to the Bayada Way which is based on 3 core values: Excellence, Reliability, and Compassion. What I've found since working with this organization is they really, truly, stand by it and walk the walk. They provide excellent training for all of their employees, and this training doesn't end when they start working. They provide continuing education for their home health aides, they offer in services and trainings frequently for their office staff as well. Bayada is always working to improve client experience, and regularly reach out to clients and find out what they can do better. One way they do this is by having clinical oversight by at least 2 Registered Nurses on staff overseeing the home health aids. The nurses visit clients once a month, every month. And the first assessment is totally free! Bayada nurses offer medication management and medication refills. No more filling mom and dads pill boxes yourself. Bayada also takes great care of their employees with competitive starting pay and a benefits package even for part time employees. That's why Bayada attracts the best caregivers. If you want the best for your loved ones, Bayada is the way to go.

They are and have always been there when we needed them. This is the second company we have used locally. Left the first one because of FREQUENT miscommunication. Bayada made the transition seamless. What a relief! I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is in the position of needing Home Health Care services.

Great Experience with Their Team…read more I recently reached out to NextDoor HomeCare for help with a family member, and I was honestly impressed with how responsive and kind their staff were. From the first call, they took the time to explain everything clearly and made the whole process feel a lot less overwhelming. You can tell they really care about the people they work with. The office staff is patient, and the caregivers I interacted with were professional and warm. I appreciate businesses that treat clients like people, not numbers. Thank you for the great service.

During that time, I had many different care givers, with various skill levels. I had to continually show them where things were and explain my schedule. This was tiring since I was not physically well at the time. Several times I had to call the company when a worker did now show up. Also, I was only allowed to change the work hours once per week. I was "scolded" by management when I sent a worker home early (even though I knew I was paying her salary for the entire time of the original schedule). As I was getting better, I required fewer hours of assistance and was eventually able to stop using their services. The care givers were all attentive to my needs, but their inconsistent skill levels made me think they needed more training. Also, some sort of written list of what the workers could and could not do would have been helpful. I also had a lot of trouble getting a copy of the contractual agreement I signed for their services. I was not provided one when I signed it, but at that time I too sick to remember to ask for one. This company was able to provide immediate services at reasonable price, but the inconsistent employee skill level, the problems encountered when dealing with management, and their rigid adherence of scheduling were all problems that lead me to give this company a less than stellar rating.

InnovAge PACE of Albuquerque failed me in every way. In the 2 months I was enrolled with them I was…read moreneglected where I lost both dignity and self-respect. I'm a quadriplegic (C 7-8 Spinal Cord Injury) that's confined to a wheelchair that tries to be as independent and out-going as possible, but PACE creates an atmosphere of dependence. Don't believe them or their buses when they claim that their program is about YOUR TERMS and INDEPENDENCE because neither is true. I better pause for a moment and say that if you are in need of day care during weekdays and have other help at home then it may be ok for you or a loved one, but I would be cautious. Back to me, in the 35 years on wheels it is absolutely the worst healthcare system that I have ever experienced. Even though I strive on being independent but it's just me and there's many things I just can't do. In the 2 months I received an average of 1 shower a week (they promised 2 but rarely showed up on Friday that leaves me at home for the weekend because of my smell), they didn't complete 1 load of laundry and I average 1 a day (but promised 1 load a week and light house cleaning once every other week, WOW!), they swept twice but never mopped, did some dishes once, vacuumed once, never cleaned the bathroom or shower, did change the bed twice but obviously no detail cleaning. More things about them: whether you take a bus to their facility or stay at home, you belong to them between 8 am to 4 pm weekdays. If you go there, they make a run for 4-5 passengers any time after 8 (better be ready at all times because they only give you approximately 5 minutes heads up) and 10 am. They make the return trip starting at 3:30 pm so they can charge a full day of day care. If you stay home your either waiting for home services to possibly show up or supplies (which I received about half of) showing up out of the blue, they give about a half hour notice on that. FEEL THE CONFINEMENT? Oh, there's much more. The bus at first used to show everyday whether I asked them to or not, I truly believe they charge the taxpayer either way. It doesn't do any good to find your own transportation there because they don't make appointments, you still have to wait for your turn, again charging more day care. Be prepared to play phone tag (taking up more time) because you usually have to leave a message because they rarely pick up their phones, they are usually just wondering around the building trying to look busy. More wasted taxpayer money! I suffered through 3 UTI's in the 2 months I was there because the doctor (who thinks she's the greatest ever and obviously doesn't believe in preventive care) wouldn't approve the pre-lubed sterile catheters I've been using for years or any sterile catheters at all. Instead, I was caught reusing catheters with KY. It hurt so bad to use them and high risk for a false entry, I had one back in the early days reusing catheters with KY that required a 125-mile ambulance trip to take me to a urologist surgeon. Almost bled to death, but she (doctor) didn't care about the risk. I'll stop there but the whole experience created more stress and depression again causing low self-esteem, loss of dignity and more confinement (dependency) than I've ever experienced. It was such a relief to disenroll with them. I can't prove possible fraud, but the rest are facts so please be aware if you're thinking about enrolling in InnovAge PACE. Thank you for reading.

A nightmare! My…read moremother was admitted for home hospice over the summer of 2022. She lives in a trailer park on the outskirts of Albuquerque. I implored my mother over a year ago to consider relocating closer to my family after her husband died, but she refused. I live in Virginia, and I am the only surviving family member to advocate for my mother. Visiting Angels was recommended by Compassus Hospice care. She has been "robbed" (reported by providers) numerous times while attendance was present. I left $700 cash and a gift card for $500 (to cover expenses) in a pocketbook stowed in a location that only my mother and an attendant knew about- only to be informed that her pocketbook has gone missing. I have called numerous times when the attendant caregiver answered clearly roused from sleeping- and more than once with an attendant who was slurring their words. Furthermore, I have received multiple calls where she has fallen while attendants where present. My mother's checking account has been depleted and the only management involvement is to harass me about payment. The calls have been numerous and each with the caveat that home care will stop, and she will be discharged from hospice. I have been labeled an "exploitive absent son" and the attendants seem to be gaslighting my mother. They are restricting my calls and I have no way to reach my mother. It's been almost two weeks since I've been able to talk to her - I am recurrently told that she is sleeping, or that she doesn't want to talk. Now that her funds are exhausted, I've been receiving buttery calls from the manager that her care can be extended if other funds are available. But, if not she will be discharged. She's being transferred to a skilled facility and expected to be placed in a nursing home over the holidays. I am travelling over Christmas to be with her. I think that as the early boomers reach an age that home care is more frequently relied upon, that exploitative practices and unscrupulous symbioses have been forming between home hospice agencies and home attendance providers. I think more scrutiny and oversight of these businesses are warranted. But I am just another exploitative son. Working long distance with Visiting Angels has been an ugly experience. I expect a reply from a visiting angels representative below or subsequent posts to reply that we should talk this out or that I am being unreasonable... but I am not. It's been an abuse and a nightmare. My mother's last days are tainted by my experience with these people.
