During the appointment, Janae and I spoke for about 15 minutes. I told her that I'd make an appointment for my annual physical in May. I went to the front desk to make an appointment for a physical and was told that the appointment that I just had was a physical. I called the next day to clear up any misunderstanding, and make sure my insurance was billed accordingly and was told by the receptionist that she would check "with the office". She called me back and informed me that, because my insurance wants people to have physicals at the beginning of the year, it was a physical. I then told the receptionist that I normally ask for full bloodwork to be ordered at my annual physical, and that I'd like an order for bloodwork. The receptionist then told me that I'd have to make another appointment to come back to the office before an order for bloodwork would be written. It's not unique to this office, but the entire healthcare system is a scam, one which this practice fully embraces. It's built upon making patients unnecessarily, and repeatedly, come in for appointments for the purpose of billing insurance companies.

The email below would sum up my last correspondence with their Wesley Chapel office. Very disappointing since I very much loved the care the clinical staff provided for my son. Not a terrible office, but beware of how their operation is managed. "Hello, It should have been notated in your system that the front office did not properly obtain and confirm eligibility for my son and continued to permit his office exam to be held with the Doctor. As usual, I asked if all was well and was told to have a seat until called back by the medical assistant. It was unbeknownst to me that my son's eligibility termed the same day we scheduled a same-day acute visit on 09/30/25. Someone should have checked his insurance as we scheduled the appointment via phone call or after we disconnected versus confirming that our appointment was accepted and all was set. I was also informed that the receptionist is no longer employed at the office and that she has made several mistakes such as this. That is an internal issue and I should not have to absorb the cost on the oversight. I have discharged my son from the practice and will no longer continue to communicate with anyone regarding this matter. The interaction above had with each staff member has been unprofessional, inefficient and ultimately ineffective. Please refrain from corresponding with me via email, phone, text, etc. Thanks. I could not be more angry at these doctors if I tried. My daughter went to Sunshine Peds for YEARS…read more Every time we went I would ask them to check her for a UTI and every time they told me no because she didn't have the usual symptoms. For 2 or 3 years they denied it. I sent my HUSBAND with her and told him to ask and Immediately it was "yes sir absolutely!" And guess what? She had a UTI for YEARS. Then we moved and we just took her to a new doctor and she was diagnosed with significant Scoliosis that she should have been seeing a specialist for. Now because she is older it may not be treatable and she may likely end up needing surgery. Literally her new doctor told her to bend forward and identified it right away. Without even touching her! Yet Sunshine Peds completely missed it her entire childhood??? Go somewhere else. These doctors are about profit not people. They made me question my own sanity with the UTI and by that time we were moving so we didn't try to find a new doc. We are supposed to trust they know what they are doing, but apparently they do not.
