I had an extremely disturbing experience at the Sand Tropéz store this morning, on 8/10/2025. This experience involved the staff and the general manager. When I walked into the fitting room, the general manager said to me, "Smile to the camera." I immediately found this comment inappropriate and unsettling. After making the comment, I was told by an employee that he disappeared into the back of the store while I was still in the fitting room. How am I supposed to know he wasn't looking at the cameras while I was changing? That is deeply concerning and completely unacceptable. When I later confronted him about it, instead of taking responsibility, he brushed it off as "just a joke" and claimed I was taking it out of context. HE SHOULD NOT BE CATERING TO WOMEN OR YOUNG GIRLS IF HE IS GOING TO BE CREEPY. Multiple employees stood up for his behavior and said that he "makes jokes all of the time." This was also concerning, as it shows that this is a regular behavior for him. After I left the fitting room, my companion and I were followed around the store for no reason, which made the situation even worse. The behavior felt targeted and discriminatory. No customer should be subjected to invasive comments, have their concerns dismissed by management, or feel unsafe and watched in a fitting room. This was not only unprofessional -- it was inappropriate, creepy, and a violation of basic customer trust. At this point, I would love the escalate this further because it's genuinely disturbing, however they told me that the general manager owned the store and it's a family business. I always came here with my family and friends, but now I never want to come back here ever again. The owners were very nice, however they hired young kids that do not act professional at all. The fitting room associate was a young blonde, I believe Russian woman who spoke English well, just with an accent. I was trying on clothes with my friend and I counted in front of her how many items I was bringing into the room with me. As I am changing she barges into the room and opens the door and says "How do you like everything?!" when I was fully nude! Very unprofessional. So I got over it whatever. As I am walking out of the fitting room I give her the clothes that I did not want and the clothes that I wanted were on my arm, and I told her I will be buying them. So I am walking out still browsing and I see her running after me and starts pulling on MY SHIRT AND THE CLOTHES THAT I WANTED TO PURCHASE. I told her several times that I wanted to purchase them and she just kept pulling so at that point I got frustrated and I just placed the clothes on the table and said I am not going to buy anything now. This business had always been a go-to spot especially on the boardwalk, but now I do not think I will ever return after an associate did this to me. read more

WORST STORE EVER The employee was very rude to me. I took a shirt off the hanger and just layed it back on the bar that it was hanging on and this one worker was like "oh so I have to follow you around now" and I got really annoyed because it is not the customers job to organize the clothes. Also as I was walking out I liked at the shirt again and I saw a dead fly inside of it and another shirt had a stain on it. I am never going back to that store again. read more

Technically speaking, this is considered "higher end" clothing for the Jersey Shore, meaning there is someone curating this clothing and the layout of the store. It smells nice coming inside from the candles and other souvenirs that are being sold. The clothing tends to be cheaper quality, overpriced, and with a target age group of 15-30. I like their clothes and sometimes have good sales, BUT THEIR POLICIES SUCK. I bought 2 ankle bracelets that were not cheap, in hope they were better quality and would last. What a joke!! Broker overnight. Store REFUSED TO REFUND MY MONEY. Repeatedly state "our policy is credit only." Well, maybe for merchandise that didn't fall apart overnight!!!!! Mike is an awesome manager who made our shopping experience fantastic! The staff is very attentive. It was great to see the store has maintained great products over the decades. It was the first time back for my brother who worked here in the 80s, and he was impressed with the continued tradition of excellence and the quality of the merchandise. read more

i really loved the clothes there but i gave 2 stars bc the employees were WEIRD. like really weird. the one guy kept following me around the store as i shopped and kept being weird&saying weird stuff. and when i tried on a shirt he waited outside the dressing room and when i came out to show my friend he wanted to see too which i thought was weird. after i bought the shirt (the people at the register were weird too) me and my friends got outta there. i think they were drunk too #classy read more

One of the employees was completely inappropriate and used profanity when speaking to me. Creeped me out of the store!

The employees are VERY rude. The first time we went in the employees told us not to mess up the hangers. But honestly, it's a clothing store and we are going to have to move the hangers to see the clothes on the rack. Next time we went in the store, a different employee screamed at us from across the store and told us we had to buy a shirt that wasn't even nice because we were eating water ice and apparently got a smudge on the shirt. My friend who got the stain on the shirt didn't even know what was going in he didn't even say we stained the shirt. He just stood there and yelled at us. We didn't have enough money but he said it didn't matter because we stained the shirt. That was incorrect. He hadn't tried to get the ice out and the shirt was black so it wouldn't even show. DONT GO TO THIS RUDE STORE. If you do, don't bring food or drinks in ( even though they never told us we couldn't ). 1 word- UNACCEPTABLE! read more
