Good food and great service! Salads were fresh, added grouper on one and chicken on the other. Had some fresh stone crabs $28 for 3 pieces, they were good too, medium size. Can't beat the view! If you are in Ana Maria island spending some time it's a good choice for lunch. Valet parking is free with max of 2 hours with the receipt from the restaurant. read more

I love the Sand Bar so much! I think of it constantly . I love their peel and eat shrimp- great size and they devein it for you so that's awesome. I always get the octopus- if you like octopus- you have to get it here! It's a great portion, and has such a great chargrilled flavor and look. Always enjoy it! read more

We went to AMI for the day to check it out . It was pretty cold so wasn't sure if this was the best location being it was mostly outside , there was a 45 min wait but we decided to stick it out ... Wow - we were glad we did . Of course the location on the beach is undeniably beautiful. They also had a cool little walk up area for the bar outside and some seating on the beach while you wait for your table which made the wait painless . They had a decent beer and wine selection , I peeked at the cocktail list which looked decent as well. They really tried to embody the Florida we all know and love with localish spirits and beer . When we got to the table , we were a little salty we waited more than 45 min to be backed up in a corner but we had great service . The food was really good too, the red snapper blacked was very well done and you could tell it truly was good fresh local fish. Soups were so so . The little neck clams were also delicious , but that was the only dish i thought was extremely overpriced . There were maybe a dozen clams and it was approx ~$20. Lastly - shout out to their valet . It was great to have free parking while visiting this establishment. Overall great experience. read more

The Sandbar is great for dinner on the water. The sunset view is perfect. We sat out on the deck. You get to guess the time of the sunset and if you do you get a free dessert . Sandbar is a great place to catch the sunset after a day at the beach! I recommend making reservations as the restaurant is packed during sunset. The food was good but o think this is a great place to catch the sunset and have drinks by the bar or outside. We waited over an hours past the sunset rush. Also if you're planning on sitting outside bring bug spray. Once the sunset it's mosquito time. Over all it's a great place for families and big crowds. read more

A long time ago, I would've rated this five stars, but they have recently obtained new owners, and this was not for the better. Ever since the first time I came to Ana Maria Island I loved their frozen lemonade, but because of the new management they have recently gotten rid of it. Although they have improved the interior, the prices have gone up, and the quality and portions have gone down, I hope these problems will be fixed in the near future, as it has been a staple of my trips to Ana Maria for a long time. read more

We went about 4 pm for happy hour and an early dinner. We were seated beach side with a great table and view! Enjoyed cocktails initially and our waitress let us take our time. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his hogfish with grits and I loved the seafood trio on risotto! We spent about 2 hours taking our time with drinks on a perfectly beautiful afternoon. Finished our day walking the beach and catching the sunset! We will be back. read more

After two hr wait, yes this place was packed the entire day. We were finally in our table. Our server was phenomenal. We were celebrating a birthday and wanted to surprise her with having lunch at Anna Maria Sand Bar eat right on the beach. The food was great and the vibe was relaxed. We weren't being rushed to seat the next person. Our food was so good. By far the best heirloom tomatoes and clams I have ever eaten. They both had so much flavor. Kudos to the Chef!! My family & I went to Sandbar on Thursday 3/21. We have been coming here for years and this visit was beyond disappointing. We put our name in & it was 1.5 hour wait (typical!). I went outside to get a drink at the outdoor bar. I ordered, paid for my glass of wine, & then the rest of my family arrived. They ended up closing the outdoor window & told them to come inside to order, despite just serving me. We finished our drinks & sat in the lobby waiting for a text to let us know that our table was ready. In the 30 minutes we were waiting, multiple parties were coming in without having their name on the list & were seated right away. When this happened again with a party the same size as us, I got in line to speak to the hostess Brianna. As I was in line, we received a text that the table was ready. She then told us that she 'accidentally' gave away our table earlier, which made no sense as we just got the text. We asked to speak with a manager about the incident. Manager Moody, who was very moody, never once apologized or took any accountability. As someone who is also in the hospitality business, I suggested they be more thorough with adding last names to the reservation. Moody said "we sat 4 parties with your name" and was extremely dismissive. He then said "anything else i can do for you", clearly not wanting to engage in conversation further. As someone who represents the business as a manager of a nicer restaurant, I would have expected a simple apology & some willingness to discuss how to improve our experience & those of others waiting. The food was very mediocre at best. Calamari was clearly frozen & undercooked, described by my family as 'mush.' I had the steak which was good, however the vegetable of the day was collard greens- very disappointing. My family & I will not be dining here & will no longer be recommending this restaurant to our renters, friends, or family. read more

We went to this restaurant twice on our week trip if that tells you anything! The stuffed shrimp, shrimp gnocchi, and the chicken sandwich was amazing! At the end of the night before the sun sets, the tables have a competition by telling your waiter your guess on the sun set time. Whoever won got champagne or cheesecake! We loved the outdoor seating and the beautiful beach views as it is right on the beach. The staff was very kind as well and had great recommendations! We felt safe sitting outside and everyone was wearing masks and sanitizing consistently. Definitely recommend. read more

Fantastic food and love it's literally on the sand. Great ocean view and ambiance. Very hard to get a table as they are so popular. No reservations so expect a wait. Definitely recommend go to the bar and eat there off full menu as it is often easier to get seats there. read more

I came here for a wedding yesterday and had such a great time. The staff and venue are amazing. The food was excellent and open bar was awesome. This place sure does have some beautiful views of the beach and the sunset. This is a prime spot in a great location for not only weddings but for regular dining as well. There is plenty of seating indoor and outdoor and there is also a souvenir shop in the main entrance. I would love to return here! read more

Tired from beaching, shopping, surfing, ..... the Sandbar will give you some good moments to chill and relax! Check sunset times when you are there and just go for a good ice-cold beer or a cocktail, and enjoy the beautiful view on the Gulf of Mexico... Sandbar is frequented by locals as well as tourists.... what a nice place to sit and let the world spin.... We had such a fun time at this bar with my family! We waited for about 30 minutes for a large table in the sand during sunset time. The wait time was not bad at all considering we were right on the beach to watch the gorgeous sunset. They had delicious drinks and apps as we snacked on them. It was a perfect location to spend some nice family time together, and we got some gorgeous sunset pictures. My favorite types of restaurants are those on the beach, so I was more than ecstatic to have this experience at Sand Bar! We cannot wait to come back. Tip: Arrive early to ensure you have a good table with a view for the sunset. Their mix drinks are yummy! read more

I have been to The Sandbar a few times as I am local. I took my daughters who were visiting for dinner last Thursday...I was told the wait would be 40 minutes (I know, there is ALWAYS a line, I get it). We did not get seated for an hour and 40 minutes!! When we finally were seated and ready to order, one of our menu selections was a twin filet special. We were told by our waiter, 5 minutes later, that they were out. So we ordered a steak off of the regular menu. It was by far the worst steak I have ever had - overcooked, rubbery, just awful. Even the mashed potatoes that came with it were horrible. $90 later, I will not be going back to this restaurant. While the view is spectacular, you can see the sunset much cheaper down the road. read more

We have visited the Sand Bar twice in the last few months. The atmosphere is great the food is wonderful and the wait staff friendly and efficient. The grouper sandwich is terrific. Best time to go is about 1 1/2 hours before sunset to enjoy your meal with the best view on the West coast. read more
