Yelp Challenge 2017 31/100- This is such a private and peaceful trail. The entrance is difficult to find (I passed it twice) but enjoyed my walk and scenery here. Because of the temperature it was important to me to have plenty of shaded areas - it didn't disappoint. The trail is also smooth for easy walking/biking/running and there is an awesome pound.

When out of town for business I always try to locate somewhere to walk and found this great location. I give it five stars because of the design. It is well marked and has plenty of distance for walking, biking, or running. I did 5 miles and could have done more if time had permitted. I also felt safe since there were many other people walking and it went through residential areas as well. Perfect place to walk for locals or visitors.

Get your run or bike on! For those in the Altamonte area, this is the spot to get your running or biking game on. This is part of the Wekiva Trail and mainly runs through a tree-lined path in quiet neighborhoods. The parking is pretty ample, but can get packed when bike or running clubs bring their teams early Saturdays or Sundays. My game plan is usually to run about 2 miles and if i need to grab a gatorade or if i didn't get a good poop that morning, it passes by a gas station with a clean bathroom. If you run 7 miles up it will take you to the Lake Mary area where there is a Panera and one of my favorite breakfast places: Peach Valley Cafe. The problem is if you parked, you'll have to run back the 7 miles! The trail can sometimes be overrun by a lot of bikers, so runners beware and keep to the right. Most of the time you'll hear them yell "to your left" It can be super tough running and training for all these Disney races in the Florida heat, but having a nice shaded path helps a lot. Happy running peeps!

About 4 miles from this trail head you will be treated to local art paired on the fences. We enjoyed them so much and were quite inspired by some motivational sayings. This trail is also festooned with local flowers and shrubs that butterflies love, so they fly overhead everywhere!! Love love this trail!

The Seminole Wekiva Trail is probably my favorite Central Florida multi-use trail. Yes, I like it even better than the West Orange Trail. This trailhead is at the southern end of the trail hidden right off of busy 436 in Altamonte. There is ample parking, benches and tables. No bathrooms here but you will find some about 1/2 a mile up the trail at Westmonte Park. BTW... the bathrooms right on the trail look like something out of a prison. Go inside the park, if it's open, for nicer facilities. Anyway, heading north on the trail from this trailhead you will pass behind homes in quiet neighborhoods and over bridges passing by creeks. You will have the chance for potty breaks and water as you pass Westmonte Park, then Sanlando and finally the Softball Complex before crossing 434 and heading toward Lake Mary. Go far enough north and check out the lovely Paint The Trail sections. I've cycled and ran this trail and always feel safe, even solo. There are enough users to make you feel not so alone, even on a weekday. And as Ches said, bike up to Lake Mary and grab lunch before biking back. The trail is shaded with gentle hills- it makes for a wonderful day.

The entrance was a little hard for us to find but we found it! Nice parking and pond to hang out before or after you walk. Had a great walk/run. We took our two dogs and they loved it. Poops bags were available. The trail is shaded and private. It is smooth concrete. It has plenty of people on it biking and running so it doesn't feel unsafe. Like the bridge in the beginning right over some water. There is a clean bathroom and water fountain a little ways down the trail. Really enjoyed ourselves.

What a great place to run! The San Sebastian Trialhead is a great starting point on the trail. They have a small private parking lot. I have never been there when it is too full to part. Along the path there are other entrances to the paved trail from other parks & neighborhood communities. People enjoy leisurely strolls, runs & bike rides along this trail all thru the week. I like the access to other parts for restroom use & for variety on runs. The first part is about 1.5 miles in, so you can easily practice for a 5k.

A great little trail for walking, running, or bike riding. Very scenic and beautifully maintained. Excellent spot for activity any time of the day. I travel it regularly on my way from Wawa or Foxtail Coffee to Crane's Roost Park. It's labeled on Google Maps as the Seminole Wekiva Trail.

It's a nice trail but as a woman running alone would not recommend. It is too secluded.

I found out about this park because I came with my wife, our son, and our granddaughter for a playdate. The park is home to the Altamonte Fast Pitch Academy and Babe Ruth Softball. They have three full size softball fields that are used for the softball academy, for Babe Ruth Softball, and you can also use them to practice on as well. Located between the three fields is a concession stand and the restrooms. What I really lived about this park is the three playground areas they have, each playground has their own set of things for kids to play on and a different theme for each area. They also have a swing-set area which includes a swing that you can sit in with your child and be able to swing together. There are also to pavilion areas for you to choose from one is called Oak Pavilion and the other is the Beach Pavilion which has two beach volleyball courts for you to play volleyball on which is a nice touch. Lastly I love the scenery of the park it has lots of great looking trees around the park. So if you are ever in the Altamonte, FL area and you want a nice secluded park to take your family to then I would recommend Merrill Park.

Although the restroom aren't the best at least they are real working bathrooms! The park was well maintained and clean and this Saturday we went, quite busy. There is ample parking nearby and a fitness trail leading from the entrance into the park. Overall a great find and so close to Altamonte and I-4! I've driven around the area many times and never knew this quiet park was tucked away amongst the trees!

Basically, a battle of the local rock and roll bands - a variety of different members from different bands come together on two teams for one day with a purpose to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Tickets are only $5, bring a foldup chair, 10x10 tent, a cooler and it's a great time watching all of our friends compete with one another on the field. Torcaso Cove Park is a great place to hold this event. There is a spacious field with plenty of space on the sidelines for fans. There are several parking areas available making parking easy for large events. There was plenty of space for a half-time show with live music right by the field. There were also a BBQ vendor and several other vendors on site selling food, jewelry, and other items. The park has a public restroom, a playground, splash park, sand pits, plenty of paved walking areas, a picnic area with tables, large pavilion, a beautiful bridge that crosses the heart shaped cove, the park has a bunch of Muscovy ducks waddling around and is dog friendly, what else can you ask for. Nancy and I really enjoyed our time at the park, we will definitely be back to bring our dog and take a nice walk. I just have to mention that it was a bit muddy on the field, even on a hot sunny day. So be sure to wear something you don't care about getting dirty.
