When I first came to the facility my foot hurt really bad. After 8 weeks of treatment my pain went away. Sarah and her team at the facility are professional, kind, friendly and well trained. They explain the exercises well and some are easy to understand and follow. Others are hard and challenging but the ladies are there to assure you that you can do it! PT turnover is incredibly high. Visited four times, had three different pts and once an assistant training to be an assistant. I had to ask if I could actually have a PT look at me. I only saw a PT for 30 minutes the first visit. the next three were for less than 10 minutes if even. Mostly spent time with a delightful assistant for the same exercises. unfortunately, my pain just increased the more I came. Very nice receptionist. I'm sure the PTs aren't bad. They just don't have time to see patients and must be over booked and owner just sees $$$ not true care. No wonder they can't keep a PT to work there. My new PT sees each patient 30 minutes and then maybe an assistant after. Amazing when owner PT company cares!!! read more

I'd like to start by saying that this facility is taking the proper COVID precautions. All staff wear a mask at ALL times and the equipment is cleaned right after every use. My first time doing physical therapy and I felt comfortable and supported at all times. Dr. Sarah is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable with every patient. I was a skeptic of physical therapy and when I no longer had the luxury of putting it off I expected the center to be intimidating like a gym. How relieved I was when I started therapy here. It feels like a safe spot to do recovery work. The attitude of the therapists and all who work there is always upbeat. There is an open conversation going on about random things that all patients who are there can join in on. I have had over 5 PT sessions in my life. This place is very special to me. They keep me positive and keep me pushing constantly! Well after many months of agonizing pain from a torn meniscus. I finally had surgery and picked this place for rehab. When I first walked in late October they said no way was I going to snowboard this season. Well thanks to the PT assistant Julie she listened to my needs and took great care of my knee. Sara and Tristan worked out a program for me that fit well. They also said no way was I going to ride my motorcycle any time soon. Well with such great service I was back to normal way quicker than they thought and actually went snowboarding 5 times this past season. I was also able to do 2 track days on my motorcycle so yeah I'm back for sure. I would recommend this place to anyone with a sports injury or work comp claim. Keep up the good work! read more

The physical therapist I saw is very nice. She spent a lot of time figuring out what was wrong with my hand and really helped me feel better. The issue here is the receptionist. Most of the time when I went in for my appointment she was on a personal call. On those occasions, she did not even greet me or acknowledge me. I just signed in and sat down. When she was done with her call, and on every visit, she just yelled out that I was there. On other occasions, she was talking with someone else that works there, about non-work related topics, and failed to greet or acknowledge me. I saw her do this with other people too. To me, the receptionist is the face of a business. My overall impression of this facility is pretty poor. If the clients, or really customers, are not the priority over personal phone calls or personal conversations, that is pretty disappointing. I would recommend San Marcos Physical Therapy for the physical therapy, but if you want to feel welcomed or even acknowledged, go somewhere else. read more

These guys are awesome. The head physical therapist Jeremy is super nice and very knowledgeable. The girls Brandi and JoAnne who help with phones, insurance and appointments are awesome. They called my insurance and let me know everything upfront as I requested so I wouldn't be surprised. The assistants Dorian and Jason are efficient and way cool. I broke my leg and hand from a motorcycle accident back in Sept. and was non weight bearing for over 90 days. I've been seeing much progress since I've started to come here twice a week a few weeks ago. Jeremy and his team are always professional, yet keep it lightweight and fun and know what they're doing. I will continue to come here throughout my recovery and recommend them to anyone who may need it. read more

I just finished my second "tour of duty" here this week. My first was in 2011 and now summer 2020 - both following knee surgeries. The staff was very nice and attentive, and they constantly adjusted the workouts based on my needs and strengths/weaknesses. They took a lot of covid precautions such as disinfecting every item or machine within a minute or so after use. I have zero complaints. Two thumbs up for Sarah and her team! read more

I literally had to change my therapy center after the initial visit. patient care is sub-par. the service was inadequate and were not very kind. therapist couldn't even look at me while having a conversation and spent the whole time looking at the computer and typing and seemed to have an ego as large as a snobby surgeon. the facility could've been better as well. didn't feel well taken care of. read more

I want to share my experience at San Marcos Physical Therapy. I had suffered from severe back pain and spasm. Not understanding what could be wrong, my Dr. ordered PT. I was most fortunate to be treated by Sarah Meister (PT) and with her magical healing touch, who always knew where those sore spots were. She was able to finally release my tense back and with that the healing began. I must also Thank Exallana, she keep me on track and managed to keep the flow of the room moving, moving from patient too patient and always with a smile and supportive words of encouragement. I also must thank Gracie for her welcoming smile and greeting. These lovely ladies have created a very Positive uplifting environment. Careful - they have really bad billing practices. I received a 300 dollar plus bill over 18 months after my last appointment there. They claimed they had an "old billing system" and just upgraded. In regards to the actual therapy it most likely depends on who you work with. I have tendinitis in my wrist and after 12 weeks of therapy still suffer daily from pain 2 years later. It's not very personalized as the therapist is working on up to 5 people at the same time. I can't recommend at all. read more

I never thought I'd have a need to see a physical therapist until I started teaching group fitness classes. As I started to increase my fitness activity, I began to notice that my body was not bouncing back as in my younger years. I first experienced plantar fasciitis and suspect it was from my extensive heel lifts teaching barre classes. The pain was very disruptive to my daily life and I knew that I needed to get help. When I began my sessions at San Marcos PT, I was given many different exercises to do at home while getting weekly sessions at the facility. I always look forward to getting hooked up to the electrical therapy machine at the end of my exercise sessions to help relieve pain and give me a chance to just relax and rest. The staff is friendly, professional, and really care about each individual getting better. The regular staff know each other well, and it shows as they bring a warmth to the atmosphere and work together as a team (helping each other as needed). No one enjoys taking "work" home, but if you really "DO" the exercises recommended it makes such a big difference. I do not experience my plantar fasciitis anymore, but I do the exercises regularly since finishing my treatments. I thought I was done with PT, but I started to experience "tennis elbow" and needed physical therapy for that as well. SMPT was again, effective and gave me relevant exercises to do while getting regular sessions at their facility. Most recently, I am getting treatments for my wrist, following an injury from many years ago. Per COVID-19 guidelines, masks are required, and staff is regularly disinfecting equipment and surfaces, while also washing their hands often. I think that my experiences with SMPT has been overwhelmingly positive. If you go in with a positive attitude and are willing to "do" the exercises at home and stick with it, then I don't see how you can go wrong. As with most anything, the more interest you take in your condition and willingness to take ownership of it and are consistent in doing whatever exercises are assigned, the greater the results will be. The PTs are there to plan and present the treatments, and work with you, but the desire to get better and do the necessary "work" is even more important. As a repeat patient, I can testify that SMPT has helped me work through my painful conditions and better yet taught me how to manage it so it doesn't come back. read more

I LOVE this place! This is the best PT place I've ever been! The first two I went to (for prior injuries) had you do exercises & ice then sent you on your way. But here the PT's work on you. And I mean WORK! Hands on. They really get into the area, for me I sprained my shoulder. I'm not going to lie, some of it hurts, but some feels great. Then they use the electronic stimulation to heal the area quicker and use an ice pack. When I leave I feel like a new woman. My accident happened six months ago and I thought I'd never be the same, but thanks to the PT's here I'm gaining full motion again. With each session I get better. Sara is a great PT and runs the place well. The receptionist is cute, she greets you with a smile and a giggle. Always using my name. And Dave #1-he prefers to be called that. LOL. He tortured me good doing stuff to my arm I didn't think it would do and damn if it didn't work! He must have broken something free because I've been able to do a lot of things I hadn't in the prior months. Obviously I can't say enough good things about this place. San Marcos Physical Therapy is a wonder place to go for regaining maximum function after injury or surgery. Sara (my P.T.) and her staff are very knowledgeable and motivating regarding treatment protocols and keeping patients on track to work to their full potential. Jessica is delightful and efficient with scheduling and prequalifying patients. The entire process for completing the exercise protocols is well done especially because the staff stays on time with each person's appointment. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes; especially important on a busy day. After my shoulder replacement surgery, I am doing well and attribute it to the care that I received at SM PT. read more

On New Year's Eve I received a call from Jessica (front office) asking me if I can come earlier for my appt. Allowing a half hour I said sure. I get there and the "Owner" Dave pulls me off the routine of the circuit I do usually before treatment and put a towel around my neck and stretched for a few minutes and said "OK, you can go back to the machine and get iced up after that.".....I did what he said but in fact he left the office immediately so I didn't have a chance to ask him why he short changed me so to speak. That was my six visit and a therapist always manipulates my cervical spine for about 15 minutes before I proceed to circuit or get iced. This man Dave, just robbed me of healing more by being in a hurry to get on with New Year's Eve. These manipulations to me are the most important part of going to Physical Therapy. It will be interesting to see if they charged my insurance and me the same amount for this visit as the first five. Medicare may not be happy if this is the case. I'm not sure at this point about that. On a lighter note: Hawaiian Dave they call him is absolutely superb. He educated me about why they do what they do to help me. He did his job well. Never rushed. Always listened. Unfortunately, he rotates to all their locations and is not there in a steady fashion. Also. The front office person thought I had Medicare when she gave me a follow up appt. and called that morning at 7 Am to tell me she didn't get approval she needed. She had two days prior on a holiday eve sent a fax to my doctor to get the referral and then she also added that she needed an approval from the medical group as well.
