As soon as we had a room we tossed all our luggage inside and went for a walk. It was about 10pm local time and we were just crossing our fingers hoping to find a good Italian meal. Well our hotel is located on the mainland and unfortunately everything was closed. So we just walked around and while walking down what appeared to be a residential street heard music and stumbled across this hidden gem. It's cute, quite and quaint. The dining room is old world, the chef delivers his food to the table and happily describes his works of art exhausted, perspiring and out of breath, but proud and anxious. We only had a small plate of spaghetti and some wine but it was delicious! It was more than delicious it was the best spaghetti we have had. We ate, drank and talked into the night. The families dining around us ordered plate after plate after plate....... We soaked in the background noise of children and family speaking Italian.......laughing and having a splendid evening. I wish we were here a couple more days so we could go back. If your in the area don't pass this up!

We even heard some waiters serenade a young birthday girl and they were decked out with festive hats, accordions, and tambourines. There was a cover fee €3 per person which was surprising for us. Very nice place. Highly recommend!

Both wonderful - the cuttlefish sauce was so unique and fresh. Primi piatti of mussels and linguine that was very fresh in a light garlic sauce. It started off well; they gave us a nice table in the back room even without a reservation. The waitperson brought us menus and came back about 10 minutes later to take our orders. Then we sat... and sat... and sat while several other tables were seated *and* served before we got our food. In fact, the waitperson never came back to check on us or anything! We didn't get our meal until one of my travel companions inquired about how much longer it would be. The couple at the next table had just about finished their meal already! We started to feel that maybe they didn't like tourists since we were the only ones there and we were the only ones ignored. While the service left a whole lot to be desired, the food was reasonably good. I had the grilled branzino and it was only okay; there were lots of bones and it was very plain. A sprinkle of salt and some lemon improved it, but it still wasn't something I'd want again. My companions had the seafood salad and the scallops and they both enjoyed their dishes. The scallops looked especially delicious. If I was ever in this area again, I'd skip this restaurant; I don't like being overlooked!

The grilled calamari was cooked very well and a hint of lemon helped its case quite a bit. The scallops were a bit on the small side, but still tasty. - We got the side spinach sauteed with garlic, olive oil, and some chili. We could barely detect the chilis, but the side was simple and delicious. - The service was very good. Good modest restaurant recommended by our concierge.

The sauce was a balance of savory beef, chunks of tomatoes, with tones of red wine that created cc'd a dish that's delicious. The chocolate cake was not my style--wayyy tooo rich. Apple pie--apples not tender The service was almost adequate. While the waiters are polite, they tend to under-hover and I needed to summon them waiving my hands once. Admittedly there was a large group in the restaurant. Lighting was adequate, acoustics very good and music was subdued. Despite this, the quality of the Bolognese makes it worth a visit--just be prepared to maybe--possibly--flag someone down when you need a refill of a beverage or want some condiments. I'd come back.
