They connect several parks where restrooms and parking are available. There are also playgrounds, picnic tables, tennis courts and even splash parks along the way. Dogs are also welcome. The dog stations are supplied with waste bags and trash cans. Additional benefits of coming here include fresh air, peace of mind, good aromas, wild life and beautiful sights. So if you need something to do, then stop by and get caught up In the fun. You could even meet a friend while getting a good dose of Vitamin D.

I think it's important to download a map that outlines the whole trail. There are parts when you think it ends but it actually detours and continues. One of these parts is at Kenny Fort Blvd, the trail really goes an additional two miles east if you start at The Rabb House on AW Grimes. The doggo loves this trail and the shade it provides. There are some awesome benches to stop, rest and enjoy the sights and sounds of the creek. There are also plenty of poop bag stations and fountains along the way. I absolutely love these Round Rock trails and we visit often. Just be prepared for a crowd during the weekend.

I ran to the absolute dead end of the trail and back up to Joe B Freeman Park. Do you know there are no working water fountains through the entire trail? Not even in the Play for All Abilities Park were they working. Granted there's only two water stations on the whole trail, neither worked. Other than that it is a beautiful trail, a great distance, with many things to look at. It is nice to get lost in the trees as well. The day they connect the east trail to the west will be a miracle. From the moment we booked to the minute we packed up, everything was smooth, easy, and honestly kind of perfect. The park is stunning and has so much to do. So much space, beautiful scenery, and tons of options for kids to run wild . My son had the best time celebrating with his friends. Between the playground, splash pad, and shaded picnic areas, the kids were entertained the entire time. No one was bored, not even for a second. There's something really special about this place. It feels like you're in the middle of nature but with all the modern conveniences nearby. It made the whole party feel relaxed and joyful.

They even have horseback riding and zip lines, along with numerous trails to explore! Street parking is allowed on Greenlawn Blvd and at the main entrance on Heritage Springs Trail. The only amenities at this location are a few benches, a paved trail system and further inward you will find primitive trails and a dry creek crossing at Lake Creek. You can stick to the paved trails which run behind the local residents or veer off onto the primitive trails which take you into the woods. If you're looking for a quiet place to hike or bike, this would be a good starting point.

The hiking trails are surrounded by residential homes and environmentally protected areas. This is considered a MUD park which is typically reserved for the residents of the area. By 2025 they will have completed building a play scape for the kids. Everything about this park is very well manicured with plenty of benches, but there are no grills, covered tables or public restrooms. The trails here leave off at the neighborhood streets, but eventually link up to other trails in the area. This park serves as a very pleasant green space of a couple acres for the local residents that live here. Eight photos included for additional insight.

This park is phenomenal. I must have told my husband and kids that I loved this park like 20 times. I think it's seriously the best playground I've been to. By the way, I noticed some photos here from a few years ago showing a much more simple playground. It looks like they gave it a full makeover and thank goodness for that! KIDS' EQUIPMENT: The play equipment is divided into zones -- one for smaller toddlers and one for older kids. They're both really great. I was particularly impressed with the equipment for younger kids because that's usually the most lacking at many playgrounds. The main playscape had the usual steps and slide but what made it stand out was all the little interactive add-ons. The designers used every opportunity (railing or wall) to add some sort of interactive element like a sliding ring or moving shape. In addition to the main playscape, there was a little igloo (watch out: a wasp was building a nest inside -- I'm going to try to email the district about it), a see saw, a little spinning chair, and more. Oh and there's a canopy over the main playscape which is great. The larger playscape for older kids was excellent as well. There were so many opportunities for climbing -- the net was super cool. Just like the smaller playscape, this was so rich in interactive elements. PARENTS' EQUIPMENT: This playground seriously has fitness machines. I was floored. Not just like a bar for pull-ups. Three machines. This is brilliant. So you can let your (presumably older, requiring less supervision) kids play while you exercise. TRAIL: There is a short trail that continues from the playground. We didn't walk it but instead crossed the street to take the Brightwater Trail. This passes through the Butterfly Garden and continues to Hairy Man Road. It's a short walk but very pleasant. The butterfly garden is small but lovely. PARKING: Small (but sufficient) lot with some shaded spots.

There's also an exercise area, swings and paved trails. This park is also monitored with security cameras. The trail itself runs behind many of the homes in the area and eventually leads into a larger green space where it turns into a circular gravel trail where you'll find some picnic tables and benches under the trees. Much attention has been paid to the grounds care and there's even a raised rest area with two benches. There are even some plant identification markers along the trail explaining the flora and fauna. The trail here does not connect up to any other trails. It just spits you out into a neighborhood where you can walk or bike to two neighboring parks several blocks away called Cheatham and Friendly Oaks Park. This large patch of green space and play area are a great asset to the local community as the 10 photos below attest.
