Hey sexy. How YOU doin?
Karen N.

If you are currently looking for a vehicle and haven't narrowed it down, this is your show. The automakers literally just took one of each of their current inventory and stuck it on the convention floor. As a friend put it, like a brand new Carmax lot. Here's the ways I was disappointed: 1. No concept cars. The 2014 Chevrolet Stingray doesn't count. That's been touring the circuit for a few years now on a pedestal. (I mean not that this is what I come for but I didn't see one car model even! HA!) 2. Only Ford and Toyota were willing to allow their vehicles to be test driven. 3. We were not allowed to bring in cameras with removable lenses (press only). If I take awesome photos and broadcast them, that's free marketing for you! 4. The parking at the Alamodome was nice with the free parking pass but was a LONG wait for the bus both ways for shuttle. Not worth it with the sudden cold spell. 5. Most importantly, some key manufacturers were straight up MIA. Mercedes Benz (I actually haven't gotten a glimpse of your new model), Maserati, BMW, Aston Martin, Porsche, and Jaguar to name a few that I noticed that didn't bother saying hi. Where were ya? The few rows of classics were pretty cool but there are other gatherings around town to see them or similar awesomeness. "International" car show? You had foreign vehicles but this was nowhere near world class. The automakers apparently don't take this city seriously. $6 for the ticket - one extra star for affordability. Not too mad atcha for a Saturday afternoon

This was advertised as "San Antonio's biggest auto show ever!" with a "selection of makes and models as big as Texas!"....umm, really?? What was it like previously? This was my 1st SA Auto Show & what we experienced was pretty small & lackluster. Was it because because we went on Sunday (the last day of the auto show)? Who knows? To be fair, the last auto show my husband and I attended was in Los Angeles. Prior to that, we had been to auto shows in San Diego and Philadelphia. We're used to the bright lights, big reveals, concept cars, hot models, music...ENERGY. The San Antonio Auto Show had none of those things and was a snooze fest comparatively. Absolutely no energy from anyone. From the people checking us in at the entrance to the vendors to the sales people, everyone looked pissed and bored to be there. Like Karen N.'s friend, the friends with us said that they felt like they were just roaming around a brand new Carmax lot. On the plus side, it wasn't crowded on Sunday. Parking was free & plentiful. The wait for the shuttles didn't take long. Hand stamps allowed for in and out privileges. YMCA had a kids' zone to keep the little ones entertained. The hot rods & classic cars were cool. The convention center was clean & spacious with plenty of restrooms. Drink and snack vendors were on hand if you actually stuck around long enough to develop a thirst or got the munchies. Like Joey P. said, unless I score more complimentary tickets, we'd probably skip the show next year. And even then, we'd have to think about it. If the organizers can bring in more European automakers and a few hot models for my husband, maybe we'll return.

Nice!

It was alright, a good way to kill an hour on a cold Sunday evening in the warmth of the lovely Henry B. Gonzalez convention center. I skipped the mass confusion that is the Alamodome parking lot and decided to just park at Rivercenter and walk the 2 blocks to the convention center. Boy was it cold down there by the water! If you do decide to utilize the free parking at the Alamodome, know that they do provide bus shuttle service so that's pretty neat. When it comes to the Auto Show itself, think huge auto sales floor inundated with salesperson after salesperson. One of them even convinced me to hand over my email address for a chance to get a $40 Visa giftcard if I go on some test drive. I may or may not take him up on that offer, LOL. So if you're in the market for a new vehicle, this might be the show for you. Warning: even if you are completely content with your current vehicle, this auto show may cause vehicle envy. Very disappointed they didn't have any concept cars. Not even ONE. 95% of the vehicles were the kind they mass-produce so of course they didn't mind if people got their paws all up inside of them. The other 5% accounted for the classic cars and cars on display. I guess I was expecting something a little more exciting. Unless I happen to score some more complimentary tickets I'll probably skip out on this one next year and save the $10 for something a little more interesting.

Enjoyed a great time with the family at the Auto Show today! We went early so it wasn't too crowded. So many vehicles to look at- wow! Everything from a $9 million 1967 Thomassima III to a Lamborghini Aventador SD ... to your basic Honda's and Ford's. I could've done without the nagging from travel agent type sales people though. Lol

He was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Initially, I contacted several other Toyota dealerships looking for a specific model, exterior color, and interior color. Only Cavender Toyola cared to work with me to find the vehicle I wanted. Additionally, their pricing was the best.

The bottom line is that…read moreI am very happy with the car that I purchased and feel like I got a competitive rate, especially considering some of the incentives in their pre-owned program. There were a couple of bumps in the process that I consider typical when purchasing a car at a traditional dealership. I initially set my appointment up with Francisco Berrios. After learning that I was interested in looking at pre-owned cars, he turned me over to Zach Drysdale, who was more familiar with the pre-owned inventory. Zach was the salesman who handled the primary points of the sales process. He did a good job of listening to the features that I was looking for in my purchase and helped guide me to some of their options including some special incentives on new cars that he thought I should consider. I still leaned toward pre-owned. The dealership had given me a nice, competitive offer on my used Camry and I had a specific price point in mind that I communicated. I was primarily interested in staying with a Camry model, but was interested in looking at a hybrid model. I was somewhat hesitant, but Zach was able to give me some data and personal testimony that eased my mind. After test-driving a couple of cars we sat down to discuss the price. I made an offer and, as is typical, he went to get an okay. We had settled on an amount, but Zach said that the offer could be applied to a different car than the one that I drove, although it was the same year and model, and seemed to be almost identical except for the color. I never did understand why the deal worked with that car instead of the car that I had driven. It didn't appear to be significantly different in any aspect and I actually liked the color better. Zach didn't seem to know of any other feature differences either. But this and the next steps were a bit confusing and could have made me step away from the deal. Part of the issue was due to my schedule. I had to put the deal on hold because I had a commitment, and I explained that I would be able to come back the following day. Francisco had returned and another gentleman who I assume was an upper manager who gives the final okay in settling on the deal came to speak to me. He made an offer $100 above what I had tentatively signed for-- and thought the deal was for. This was quite confusing because I had thought the price had already been established. He put a little pressure on me to stay and finish the deal. I explained clearly that I was simply out of time and could not finish the process that afternoon. So, I left and Francisco assured me that the car would still be there for me when I came back the next day. When I came back the next day, the price was indeed a little more than I had signed for, but as I said up front, I felt like it was still a good deal. It was a 2026 pre-owned car, with a pre-owned price, with only around 30 miles on it. I had seen '24 and '25 Camry hybrids at other lots that had a couple of thousand miles on them for about the same price. So even though there were some negative points in the process, I felt like the deal was competitive and I'm very happy with the car that I purchased so far. As long as it doesn't give me problems, I'll be happy with it for a long time, but that's why I usually buy Toyotas. Zach and Francisco were good to deal with, but as I say, Zach was my primary salesperson for most of the process. By the way, the financial officer who took me through the paperwork process, Ricky Rodriguez, was a delight to work with.

Terrible Experience - They Talked Themselves Out of a $68,000 Sale…read moreI walked into this dealership ready to buy and had a pristine 2020 Nissan Rogue to trade in. Unfortunately, the sales team completely blew the deal. They refused to offer anything more than the absolute cash value on my trade-in. I understand dealerships need to make money on trades, but I don't need a lecture about it. My job was to bring them a quality vehicle; their job was to figure out how to make a profit. I was willing to move forward, but their rigid "take it or leave it" stance made it clear I was better off walking. When I told the salesman I was leaving, he literally said, "Go ahead and walk away." So I did. I got in my Rogue and left without looking back. Later that evening around 7 PM, the salesman texted me asking if I had ended up buying a car yet. The very next day, I went to another dealership. They immediately offered me $13,000 on the trade (significantly more than what was offered here), knocked $1,500 off the price, and didn't push any dealer add-ons. I drove away happy in my new vehicle on May 1st with zero hassle. This dealership single-handedly lost a $68,000 sale because they wouldn't budge even slightly on the trade-in. If you're trading in a vehicle and expect fair value, look elsewhere. Very disappointed. They did turn the super loud music down. It was bothering me very badly by the time I came back in to talk to the guys so that was a plus at least they thought about me for a little bit then, as soon as I start walking away, the music got turned right back up, so that was kind of disrespectful.
