I lived right round the corner from Royal Thai for years - pretty much a decade all up - so have…read morebeen a regular visitor there. That was three+ years ago now, and as I write this my mouth is watering, quite literally, for their fishcakes. If there's a category for entree perfection on a plate, the fishcakes are there. *DO NOT* visit here without trying them. Decor is... well... typical thai... so's the menu - lemongrass and chilli and lime leaves in abundance. You know what? I never had one dish there that I wouldn't happily jump at the chance to have all over again. The serves are a decent size, the service is good, the restaurant is nice - but none of that is anything compared to the food. Recommended. P.S. Sister restaurant to Madame Wu's on the Parade in Norwood - if you like the food here, you'll like the food there, too.

I had such an enjoyable time reviewing Royal Thai Restaurant but the hardest part was trying to get…read morein the door in the first place. The place was almost empty when we arrived but we were almost turned away because they were fully booked. Who would have thought! However, they managed to squeeze us in and we were grateful because the experience was memorable. The dining area is quite small with only 12 or so tables, but by the time we had eaten and were about to leave the places was full. The waitresses are nice and it is all table service which is great. The menu is expansive and I would definitely recommending trying their range of satay products which are dripping in the best satay sauce I have had in a long time. The meal sizes are reasonable and although my boyfriend was still hungry afterwards (such a boy), I was ready to burst my dress. There is also a takeout option available and we saw quite a number of people duck in and grab their takeout phone orders. The prices are also very reasonable, for a two person meal with entrée and two drinks it came to just over $50 which is less than we expected. Thumbs up!

This could be slightly offensive but im gonna say it any way…read more You dont have to be Indian to be a curry muncher. Take me for example. I frequent this restaurant on a weekly basis just so I can get my fix of the Sala Thai Massaman Beef Curry. There are a million things that look good on the menu that I haven't got around to trying yet because I just cant get past the Massaman curry. It could be intervention time, I've gotta branch out people. I also go for the service, The lady who makes the magic happen has hospitality running through her veins; she always makes dining in an absolute pleasure with her super friendly demeanor. But what is also great is I can get takeaway so I can indulge my Massaman fetish away from the worlds prying eyes. You can find Sala Thai just off the main street in Stirling in the Adelaide hills. it doesn't accommodate hoards of people though so book ahead because its quite popular. Another plus is they will split the bill for you if you ask, love that. Oh and one last thing...Massaman Beef Curry.

Definitely the best yellow curry I have tried. Also, they are creative with their dishes and don't just throw the same veggies in every dish. They also do some great special dishes such as the yellow barramundi curry and red duck or basil duck. The owners are always very friendly and accommodating and will stop to have a chat with you. We have dined in and had take away on many occasions and can highly recommend both.
