Cute place. There was only one person working about 6 groups of 2 who were all tasting, so she was a little pulled thin, but she did her best. We sampled 5 for $5... and only tried the whiskeys/bourbon- staying away from the crazy flavors, as we drink our whiskey neat. We settled on a bottle of the Tennessee Lady sipping whiskey. Directions: Very easy access off of Hwy 40 exit Lower Brownsville Road take it heading West for 1/2 mile business is on the left. Plenty of parking available close right up front. This was an amazing location to visit, even if you do not drink whiskey like my wife, because of the nostalgic wooden building that houses this business is incredible! There is no food served so bring your own and you can have a nice picnic out front or inside with plenty of seating. This was such a fun trip and the whiskey sampling was amazing! There was all types of flavors of whiskey including a chocolate caramel cream, that even my wife, who does not like the taste of alcohol, liked so much she actually purchased a bottle! I really enjoyed the standard types of whiskey along with the White Dog which is a moonshine that was so smooth it was a pleasure to drink. All the whiskeys and moonshines are made on site and we even took the $10 tour given by the owner which was very interesting and informative. He even gave some awesome stories and history about the past years of whiskey making. If you're looking for an off the beaten path, historical and fun trip you have to go to Samuel T. Now - let me tell ya what you're NOT going to get - the chaos and crowds of the big name distillers you might be use to seeing. What you ARE going to get - some uniquely produced spirits that are smooth and delicious including some spirits that hang in there with some really good bourbons and sipping whiskeys . Go in for a tasting or maybe a cocktail or 2. The old fashion was quite tasty and the High Top - unique and delicious. Now about that strawberry lemonade - be careful with that one - or you might find yourself sipping down to many of these light refreshing drinks! The tour is interesting - definitely a small operation trying to break into the business, but friendly people and informative (willing to entertain all your questions) I'm a purist of sorts - all the flavors of moonshine are interesting, and good, but the Tennessee Sam whisky is where it's at. They kept thanking us for coming by....NO thank you for hosting us on our travels!!! Great kind people creating a great product! We purchased the namesake Samuel T Bryant...Tennessee Sam whiskey and some after dinner sipping "cookies and cream" for later. Yumm! Nice grounds with beautiful huge oak trees that may have been here 100 years or more. Green apples on the trees and some sweet shrubs in bloom. Fabulous climate in mid May! Love the plants! I can't say enough wonderful things about this place and Mr. Bryant. He allowed us to boondock after pulling in around 8 because I wasn't able to connect on the Harvest Host App. It was beautiful and quiet and we slept like a log. Woke up the next morning and enjoyed the beauty while having a cup of coffee and then headed inside when they opened to sample and stock up on their wonderful liquor. Enjoyed speaking with Mr. Bryant. We came here Oct. 2020 and we're so glad to get to come back and enjoy the beauty and their specialties. We will definitely come again. read more

If you are anywhere near Jackson, TN you MUST stop here. It is right off I-40 and a wonderful hidden treasure. You can taste whiskey, rum, tequila, amaretto, moonshine, and cream shines (definitely taste these). We spent the night on sight in our RV through Harvest Hosts and it was a great experience. Pete, Sam (the owners) and the staff were wonderful hosts and Pete gave us a great tour of their facility. A definite must see. read more

Guests can enjoy a free tasting of four products in the tasting room. The place also serves mixed drinks. Driving from Nashville to Memphis we saw the sign for this distillery and decided to check it out, because who doesn't love a lil early afternoon moonshine? The grounds and building are very beautiful and charming. We had the pleasure of meeting Samuel and got to chat with him and try some of his fabulous moonshine. My favorites were the strawberry and coconut. We even got to tour the distillery with Samuels father. I've tried other moonshine, but so far this is my favorite. tip- strawberry moonshine with lemonade made the best summertime drink! My sister was very insistent that we go to Samuel T. Bryant Distillery. "He went to church with us! I know him from youth group. How do you not remember him?" she quipped. "I am sorry, the name sounds familiar... I guess?" my reply. I would never in a million years that Jackson would have a distillery, let alone a really amazing one. I came here blindly not knowing what to expect. I wasn't necessarily thinking one way or the other, but Jackson isn't known for too much. Maybe we are known for founders of Hard Rock Cafe and Waffle House being from here or maybe that Pringles potato chips are made here. Possibly rockabilly, too? Well, to my amazement - Jackson now can also be known for STB distillery. A group of 4 of us came. We tried their free tastings and ended up purchasing around $180 worth of product. The highlights were hands down moonshine (we got coconut and blueberry), their whisky (Tennessee Hills), and their TNKilla (tequila). Their moonshine was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! Sam (the owner) and his father, Mr. Bryant, were very gracious in taking the time to talk to us and explain to us everything on how the produce their product and how the distillery came to be. We even got to view where he makes the product. Sam is a leisure winemaker, but doesn't distribute. He had some experience in the alcohol business before opening the distillery up. *Despite growing up with Sam's family and my family in our same church, I really didn't know the gentleman. My sister is 8 years older than I am and they were in a different group of folks than myself. I only write this because I want it to be made known despite my wonderful experience here, this review should NOT be reflected as me writing something for a family friend. I genuinely loved the product and having the opportunity to experience this. Plus, with growing up in Jackson and with my family being the social people that they are - it is 6 degrees of separation in knowing one another!* It was super fun to come here and would advise anyone driving between Memphis and Nashville looking for a good boozy stop along the way to take the time and check out Samuel T. We found the Samuel T. Bryant Distillery via Boondockers Welcome and were able to reserve an overnight stay. We arrived in plenty of time for Mr. Pete to give a tour and the run down of how they create their dee-lish products. We relaxed in the event hall and enjoyed cocktails and conversations with our fellow RVers. The place is dog friendly too and you won't meet nicer folks. Stopped by this distillery after tasting wine at Century Farm vineyard. Sweet old gentleman served us some moonshine. 4 tastings for free $5 for 5 more. The Tenkiller which is really taquilla was excellent. $80 a bottle though. We liked the coffee moonshine and bought a quart bottle. $30. The blueberry and strawberry were also great. Velvet liked the Seasalt Caramel shine too. She liked the Gin alot too. read more

This review is for Amber! My dad and I were here on the 22nd of May (Friday) while on a roadtrip from Washington DC to California. I just wanted to thank you for being so kind, helpful, and fun! I've tried the butter pecan cream in some coffee and it is just amazing. I haven't been able to try the other two bottles because they are gifts but I'm sure the receiving bartenders will have a blast with them. Only wish I'd picked up a jar for myself...if you guys ever decide to sell online, I'm there. Also, Amber, super random but I think you're cool. The moonshine flavors were fun to try and the owner is super nice. We took a tour and it was just us and him! 1000% times cooler than doing a big brewery tour. We saw a billboard for this place, and did the whole "should we stop? Oh yes, let's stop, damn it we passed it, ok, let's turn around." And boy we were we glad we did! This distillery is beautiful. Gorgeous wooden...everything, just gleams and brings you right on in. They have whiskey, tequila (although I don't think it technically can be called tequila....), moonshine and cream liqueurs. So, my expectation for moonshine or the cream liqueurs were very low (no offense!!) but holy cow. Try them. Try most of them. They were all soooo super tasty. Sea salted caramel moonshine? If you say so, oh wait, it's AMAZING. Cookies and cream liqueur? I'll take 4. This place knows what it is doing and it is doing it very well. See that billboard? STOP for this place. read more

As opposed to my "distillery" experience at Old Forge, this operation is actually a farm to bottle working distillery. Look at the labels of their product and "distilled by..." is on the label so you know you are where the magic happens. I can see the corn growing nearby and while this covid thing has messed up tours and the like you can peeak through the barn doors and see the still working and the mash bubbling. I liked the whiskey here although it is NOT a traditional Tennessee whiskey. Traditional maybe the wrong word here but the state has certain criteria to be labeled "Tennessee whiskey" and this whiskey doesn't follow that. But it is damn tasty. Their moonshine was excellent as well (I walked out with a jar of Blueberry shine). If I had a bitch it is that I prefer more corn to my mash bill and what I had here def had rye notes. The tasting room and event area was pretty pimp and the girls working were fun as well. Def worth a stop on the trip between Nashville and Memphis. read more

Ended up purchasing some straight moonshine and some flavored moonshine. Absolutely the smoothest I've ever had! Plus super friendly people and great conversation. I stopped in today on my way to Arkansas to see what this place was all about. When you turn off the highway onto their road you may think you are headed the wrong way. Don't turn around keep driving and make a visit! The owner and his dad were there to greet me and offer tastings. I ended up buying a couple bottles of their Tennessee Hills Dark Tennessee Whisky. Tucked away off the side of the family's farm, yet still right off the highway, this place is charming and quiet. The barn is beautiful inside and boasts gorgeous wood tongue & groove and beams milled from the son's previous tree business. Sam's father was right there to greet us and happy to show us around on a quiet Sunday. Sam offered up samples of his homemade spirits and moonshines, which were all very unique and delicious. The whiskey was so smooth and the tequila was uniquely sweet and tasty. We ended up taking home a bottle of the tequila, bottle of the reserve and a jar of the coffee moonshine. So lucky to have found this little gem, it was a real treat. read more
