Magnolia Manor & Chapel, owned and operated by Lee and Lyne Sands, is one of those magnificent places. Lee and Lyne bought this old church and turned it into, not just overnight lodging, but a real event venue. The rooms where you stay are so charming and are each decorated individually and made inviting, warm and comfortable. Our room included absolutely everything we would need for a stay. We felt very spoiled. From the comfortable bed, cozy bathrooms and extra blankets, to the delicious cookie and the nighttime chocolates, it was a real winner. But, more wonderful things had yet to come. Our stay included breakfast. We weren't expecting anything big. The evening before Lee and Lyne asked us if we had any food allergies. Well my husband needs egg whites and I'm gluten intolerant. When we walked down the stairs into the dining room, it blew our minds. It was decorated so delightfully, and again so very invitingly. I loved the tablecloth and napkins at each place setting. We smelled something good cooking, but weren't sure what it would be. Oh my gosh, our drinks arrived along with a little appetizer plate of french toast sticks. When I found out they were gluten-free I was in seventh heaven. Next came the glass of enticing mixed fruit. We then enjoyed scrambled eggs (and yes, my husband had egg whites), bacon, and the most delicious hash brown casserole I've ever had. Now that, is A BREAKFAST. They serve lunch and offer brunch on Saturday & Sunday We also found out they have a building in the back with a beautiful patio to listen to different bands while you have drinks and light food. Right now I believe it operates on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They also have the most splendidly redone chapel. Wonderful place to have a small wedding or celebration. All in all, we will definitely be back and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling through that area. It's not far off the highway between Memphis and Nashville.

We were disgusted with our room and I called front desk immediately. Mold in bathrooms and showers, cracked tile everywhere. Took lots of pics and showed them. They moved us to another one and it was equally as bad. The hotel is filthy. Trash even in elevators. Carpet everywhere is filthy and stained. We ended up leaving and moving to another hotel. The last straw was pulling back sheets on the second room they gave us and saw a bed of crumbs!!! Just NO. Corporate needs to see this place as we've stayed at Holiday Inns for over 30 years. This was so bad we will not be staying at another one ever.
