The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, there's good music playing, the beer is nice and cold, and the service has been fun, friendly, and delightful. It's the kind of place where you can easily sit down for a drink and a few appetizers or stay for dinner and enjoy a burger or something more filling. Both times we've gone with friends, we've ordered appetizers, including the pretzel and wings, and everything has been really good. It's just an easygoing place to meet up, grab a drink, eat some good food, and hang out. I also really love the location. Dupont is such a cute little town, and it's especially pretty in the evening when everything is lit up. McNamara's fits right into that atmosphere and feels like a great place to stop in while you're out enjoying the area. It looks like a really nice little town to take a stroll through before or after dinner. Overall, we really enjoy coming here. It has that fun neighborhood Irish pub feeling, and it's definitely a place we'll keep coming back to when we're looking for somewhere to relax, eat, have a cold beer, and spend time with friends!

Clearly, I have to return to try everything else on the menu. The salad has fresh cut romaine lettuce. It is NOT a salad mix. Very flavorful, roasted corn, perfectly cooked flank steak, exactly the right amount of blue cheese crumbles so they didn't overtake the flavor of the salad. The roasted tomato vinaigrette has a smoky flavor to it that was delicious. The dressing was tossed with the salad, not in the side. Another great decision. You can tell they carefully put together their salads and it is a high quality meal. I got the large size, not the kite version and it was perfect. I ate all of it because it was so good. My servers were friendly and attentive. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you!!

Fantastic bacon too. Service was impeccable! I was here with a group on a Friday morning, we got there first thing when they opened. All the employees were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Constant refills on solid black coffee and great conversation. One of the best parts of this place is the decor and vibe. Beautiful old architecture, big windows with natural light, and old fashioned furniture and kitchen equipment. It's such a cute little place and feels very home-y. Plus it's on a very nice street in Steilacoom nice and close to the water. Outstanding place to visit on a warm sunny morning for some delicious American classics.

The food is truly homemade--nothing pulled from a frozen bag. And honestly, it feels like a living museum tucked into one of the quaintest little towns in America. Be kind to the longtime staff. I have seen Slim chickens but if I am in the mood for fried chicken, I always drive over to the Air Force base and get Popeyes. I was literally so hungry, I opted for slim Chickens because I hadn't eaten there before. Nope! Service was not unfriendly but definitely not friendly. It's located in the food court so there is plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. It's nice a bright inside with plenty of condiments available. I couldn't make up my mind so I order a tender meal and a crispy chicken sandwich. Omg! Worst chicken sandwich I have ever eaten. First of all it wasn't crispy, it was soggy and the chicken was very tough! No flavor and the even the pickles were soggy. I took one bite! I put it back in the box. Then I opened the tender meal. The tenders were almost just as bad. Although not the worst, but they lacked flavor. I did like their fries. I dipped them in their ranch and buffalo sauce. I tried the waffle and it was okay. It was an oversized waffle that they cut into 4 pieces and the presentation was nice. Would I ever try them again? Probably not. I expected way more! It's a bit pricey. Way too pricey for what you get.

The prices feel way too high for what you actually get, and unfortunately, the food left my stomach hurting afterward. The condition of the pub was also disappointing. The bathroom was especially bad--there were no paper towels, no toilet paper, and no soap, and the mirror was dirty. The popcorn-textured walls also really take away from the atmosphere. Throughout the rest of the pub, I noticed flies, and overall the place feels pretty run down. It also seems like the pub can't quite decide what kind of theme or atmosphere it wants to have. The service was probably the biggest issue for me this time. The woman taking our order seemed extremely stressed and was pretty passive-aggressive toward me and my friends, even though there didn't seem to be many customers at the time. One example was when I tried to use a Visa gift card. I told her that I wasn't really sure how to use it, and instead of explaining it, she responded with a mean smile and basically said, "I don't know, you can swipe, tap, or pay with it." It was a small interaction, but the attitude made the experience much more uncomfortable than it needed to be. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the Steilacoom Pub based on this experience. The prices, food, cleanliness, condition of the building, and service all need improvement before I'd consider coming back.

Food: perfectly crisp edges, melted cheese and grilled onions with burger sauce on a soft but sturdy bun. The burgers were very good. I would suggest a bigger shake of salt & pepper, but the taste of being smashed onto sliced onions gave them a delicious flavor. The menu is a bit unusual with an eclectic selection of foods, including Birria and chicken tacos, Korean bulgogi, shawarma, variations of fries, shakes, lemonades, Mexican corn, egg rolls and more. Too much for my choices but the smash burgers are reason enough to come here. We had water with our meal because a soda was nearly $5! Service: order and pay at the counter and your food is delivered as soon as it's prepared. The family staff provides efficient, friendly service. Ambiance: nothing to write home about, but there are plenty of tables to dine in the restaurant. The TV was playing a movie that nobody seemed to be watching. I would have preferred a baseball game or just some decent music. If I'm in the mood for a smash burger, but don't want to make it at home, this will be my go-to place.

We purchased two sodas, two burgers and fries and spent $45. I don't mind spending good money on food when it tastes like it's worth it. But this wasn't it. The sodas are also cans not fountain which was labeled as permanently out of service. Overall, the place honestly had a weird vibe. The woman who took our order disappeared into the bathroom for well over 15 minutes leaving a child to take the orders of several people on line. Also, there was just a space heater on one of the tables heating the area which didn't look safe at all. We will not be returning to this spot :(
