Sam and his crew are professionals without a doubt. Sam came to our house to discuss the work we wanted done and gave us a fair estimate of the cost and when he could have his crew get to work. On work day, he and his crew arrived on time and they worked FAST! They trimmed an oak hanging over our deck and cut down 7 or 8 medium sized trees and two huge cottonwoods that were too close to our neighbor's house. I was sure they were going to have to rent a crane to get those trees out but no need--a crew member climbed the tree and with ropes and a chainsaw, he worked with the guys on the ground to take it down limb by limb. It was cool to watch. Speaking of watching, his crew knew where I was at all times and at one point stopped their work to make sure that I wasn't going to walk near the tree as the next limb was cut down. I wasn't and was being cautious to stay out of the way but they didn't know that and I was happy they were so safety conscious. The driveway was cleared of all branches and debris before they left. We were so pleased with their work. This was actually the second time they've helped us with our overgrown yard. We've had a great experience both times. Sam and his team have also been out to my in-laws ranch way out of town after the storms of 2017 knocked a tree onto their roof. Sam and his team were working hard with so many jobs back then and they made time to go out of their way to help my in-laws despite having more work that they probably wanted. Sam is a kind man and he and his team have a lot of integrity. I recommend them with great enthusiasm. read more

Prompt and professional for a reasonable price! We had an ornamental plum tree that had a large branch break. Called Sam and he was out here quickly. Had them trim up some other trees and remove one that was too close to others. I am very satisfied with the tree work they did and would use them again. read more

We recently had Sam's Tree Service come out and do work for us, trimming of large oaks and smaller oaks as well as removal of two small trees. I had called two other well known tree services out earlier this summer and they both wanted to kill the honey bees that have a hive in one of the large trees before they could trim it. Sam and his crew had no issue with the bees and trimmed the tree without any problem from the bees. His price was reasonable too, the other places wanted more money but they also were going to take a lot more off the trees, so we could not really compare pricing apples to apples. Sam and his foreman Miguel both agreed they did not need that much trimming. They were on time and very respectful of my yard furniture, moved things out of the way and cleaned up very well. The trees all look great! I would recommend them based on our experience. read more

Great service. Mike and his crew did an amazing job on taming unruly overgrown trees on my property. They showed up on time and completed the job as they promised. True pros who are focused on making sure I was satisfied with their work. Very fairly priced too. i highly recommend them. read more

Our dead large pine tree removal, pruning, thinning and cleaning out dead branches of 21 oak trees was completed. We are absolutely delighted with the entire job, from start to finish. Aesthetically pleasing results, not that random hacked appearance. Without reservation we recommend Sam's Tree Service, son of Mike Ramirez re: Evergreen Tree Service. The price was fantastic, the crew was professional and friendly. They even checked in with me for my input. I knew they would do a great job having been a long time customer of Mike (owner of Evergreen Tree Service, Sam's dad. Outstanding on the cleanup as well. We could not be more satisfied. Thank you Mike, Sam, Jose and all! 805-460-0743 or 805-610-8266 read more

These guys are great!! We've used them before, the name has changed. Great customer service, speedy, careful, clean up after themselves, ALL the crew polite, and ALL the crew ALWAYS thank us for the work. Called Sam Tuesday am, he gave us estimate Tuesday pm, crew arrived earlier than promised on Wednesday am. Worth every dime to have our granddaddy oaks and digger pines cared for. read more

Sam's Tree Service did a great job on my trees. They were carefully trimmed and cleanup was thorough.

Sam himself came out to check on our needs. Took a good look and deemed everything about the tree safe and healthy and didn't try and sell us work that we did not need. Great experience. read more

We had been shopping around for some prices on getting some tree work done due to concerns that one of our pine trees had pine beetle damage, and a eucalyptus with a weak top kept losing large branches in our front yard. We were afraid that the pine might come down on our house. Called up Sam on a referral from one of our friends and he came over right away to assess our needs. He was professional and personable when he arrived and quoted us a fair rate, saying he could have a crew come out within two days to take care of our problem. He and his employees showed up this morning, and I have to say we received excellent service. They had the pine down in less than an hour and at no time did we feel like our property was in danger of being damaged. As far as the eucalyptus that had the weak top, Sam did a top-notch job trimming it all up so it is no longer a safety hazard. He took the time to study how the tree was growing and triple checked his work after every cut. In addition to using the chainsaw on the eucalyptus he finished it with pruners to give it a good shape. His crew cleaned the waste up completely after the job was done. Watching these guys work together was like magic. They operated safely, had great communication with each other, high quality equipment, and every one of them was courteous. If I could give more stars for the peace of mind they brought my family I would give them at least 10! Sam's Tree Service will be our go-to arborist from now on and we would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Sam's Tree Service came to remove a huge black locust tree from our backyard. We were very impressed with the care they took preparing the worksite and they removed the tree efficiently. I'm impressed. I called Sam's when my regular service couldn't fit us in their schedule. Sam's price was fair, their schedule was accommodating and their work was top notch. As with the other reviewers, a written estimate would have been the real professional touch. Please consider implementing this for all my future orders. Thanks! read more

Mike and his crew were in the neighborhood working when I spotted the trucks and gave him a call. He was at my house in just a few minutes, looked at the tree I wanted removed, gave me a very, very fair quote and the tree was gone within the hour. Clean, professional and a phone number and name that I will share with anybody who asks about tree services. Thanks guys! read more

Sam's did a fabulous job taking down 2 enormous digger pines on our hillside. They came in, did the job and left. Almost like they weren't even there they left it so clean. Very friendly and polite crew, we will definitely have them do more work for us when needed. read more

I'll keep this short, as I now see they have many great reviews. Emails and responses were cordial. Work was excellent. Even did us a favor on a weekend. I can't recommend another service. I didn't need to shop around. They have the proper know-how and equipment to do the job right! read more

Many thanks to Sam and his entire staff. Excellent service from the time when I was quoted by Michael and Scotty to the time the job was finished. The crew was professional and very courteous, careful not to drop any of the limbs and trimmings on the house. Cleaned up behind themselves to make it look like they were never there. Went over and above to make sure I was satisfied with their work. I would certainly recommend Sam's Tree Service to anyone in need. read more

Absolutely professional and great work . Sam and his crew have been out to my work on two occasions and after the first job he did it was obvious why we called him on the second time we needed tree removal. Friendly, thorough and fair no complaints at all! read more

I must say I am very impressed with Sam's response, called Monday afternoon and he came by about 2 hours later, gave me a reasonable quote and showed up today on time and completed job fast and efficiently (can't even tell that a tree was removed). Sam came out and gave me a verbal bid and set a date . Have had a hard time getting ahold of him so today we talked and now the job is not worth the time . Maybe 850 dollars is not alot but it is to me . I really needed this done if anybody knows a good tree service you know what to do. read more

I called to request an estimate and got Sam on the cell. He was in the area and came shortly. He gave us a very fair cost for trimming three trees. He also had a crew available the same day!! Job done exactly as we wanted AND the area was completely cleaned up. Professional, friendly, hard working. We will call SAMs again. read more

After seeing all of the very positive reviews on Yelp, I had high expectations, setting me up for disappointment. They exceeded my high expectations in every way. I called Tuesday morning, my call was returned right away and they came by and gave me a quite reasonable estimate that same day. We have 3 oaks that needed trimming, and one huge eucalyptus that was a mess. I wasn't sure what they could do with it, but they assured me it would not be a problem. They came early on Friday morning and were done by 1pm. All of the trees are now beautiful. When they left that afternoon, the beautiful trees were the only clue that they had been there at all. Highly recommended. read more

We called Sam's for an estimate bid to remove a tree stump. Mike came out and was very professional. We had a nice discussion about what we needed, how they would access the location, and how we could prepare the site for them for the work. He provided a very reasonable quote and completed the tasks within a couple weeks (they have been REALLY busy). I wish we had contacted them to remove the entire tree to begin with, but oh well, lesson learned. We will definitely call Sam's again! read more

Used Sams twice, first time was good second round not so good, but Sam did come back and made it right. The end result was good.

We interviewed 3 tree service companies, and even though the quote from Sam's was a little more, they were so knowledgeable, and told us we needed to contact the different underground utility companies, and gave us the number to call. They are very busy, but finally we got a date to remove 3 trees on this property. They showed up on time, and got to work right away. They worked really hard on removing and getting the stumps out of the 2 trees in front. The one in the back yard was so close to the fence that they cut a low as possible and said they would not grow back. They chipped every limb, and took away two huge pieces of the trunk of the Sycamore tree. They swept, and cleaned the property so nicely, We were more than pleased. Everyone who sees it, is amazed at the job that was done. All the neighbors who watched, were amazed at the work ethic of this company. We recommend them to anyone who wants, great, professional and awesome work done with tree service. Super polite, and friendly!! Thank you Scott & Sam and the rest of the crew!! read more

I contacted Sam Thursday afternoon about having some trees trimmed prior to selling my home. He called with a quote early Friday morning, and was on the job an hour after that. Very impressed with such prompt service. Our trees were very overgrown and were weighing down the phone lines in the front yard. They trimmed it all away from the wires, and removed what was overhanging the roof. We were blown away by the difference. Thanks, Sam!! read more

Sam did a great job. He is honest and professional. Work was done a day early and very neat!

I am a local Realtor and my team hired Sam's Tree service to do some work for a listing we had in Atascadero. We were more than happy with the service they provided and the tenants even called to tell me how impressed they were with him. It's great to work with a high quality service provider such as Sam. We work with all kinds of vendors in this industry and and he definitely ranks above the rest. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Sams Tree Service. read more

Second time I have used Sams. The best, the very best. Some of the most talented professional men we have hired.

I used Sam's Tree Service to remove fourteen dying pine tree of over 70' in height. They had to access my area through the yards of two neighboring properties. They arrived as scheduled and performed the work in a timely fashion so as to not disturb the neighborhood any more than necessary. They addressed both neighbors properties in a professional manner and returned them to an enhanced state. All work was done as promised and their pricing was in line with other bids I received. Though I must say that the other company, upon further review, stated they couldn't do the job and make a profit. I would highly recommend Sam's Tree Service to anyone. They are professional, careful and reasonable. I am so glad they did my job! Hats off to them! read more

Sam and his crew are awesome! He was very fairly priced, even under the price of quite a few other quotes that we got. Their service was impeccable. Showed up just before the appointment time. Took down a very large cottonwood tree with the boom truck like it was nothing. We even have a hot tub under it and they swung the limbs around to avoid he hot tub and take it down with ease. Fast and efficient. Sam was also very responsive with texts, calls and coming out for an estimate. Would highly recommend. Thanks for the great service! read more

We were very impressed by Sam's Tree Service and their skill, efficiency and speed at removing our Monterey Pine. They removed a very tricky, very large tree that was 10 ft from the house. Chainsaws revved up around 11:00 and it was all gone by 5:00. All his crew were all very polite and hard working. read more

They did a fantastic job! The guys worked very hard to meet our needs. I am very particular about how the trees are trimmed because they frame our home and they trimmed them beautifully and you can barely tell they were trimmed. Beautiful work for a very fair price. If I could give them more than five stars I would. read more

I did NOT get the service everyone else seems to have gotten. I called and was asked to leave a message. About 24 hours later someone called back and scheduled an estimate time five days later. On the day agreed upon for the estimate, no one showed. I called the office and was asked to leave a message. I have since gone with Whit's tree service. read more

This is my second review for Sam's but they are so good I had to post an other. We've used them twice before for smaller jobs but it came time for some serious work on our 10 oaks and one sycamore Mike came out to look at the job. Let me just say Mike is the absolute best. He looked at my concerns made some very good suggestions and gave us a really good bid, so good that I never considered calling anyone else. He told us they were a little backed up and it might be December before they could get to us, no problem since this was not a pressing job. Mike called back about a week later and said they could be there Monday if that would work, you think. They showed up first thing Monday morning and hit the job big time. Let me just say that the tree work is excellent and they clean up so it's better when they came in. When they finished Mike came back by to make sure we were happy. There was one branch that I thought I'd asked be cut, but I may not have asked. I showed it to him and he had the crew back out that day to take care of it, then called me again to make sure all was well. These guys are the best. read more

Wow these guys are great. On time, professional and well prepared. Very nice and obviously well trained and experienced. Took down two pine trees like they were saplings and trimmed some oak Trees. So nice to have a contractor that replies right way and gets back to you asap. His prices were reasonable especially for a no hassle, do everything that was requested, get the job done and leave everything cleaned up. Highly recommend & I found them on Yelp so the reviews were accurate. read more

I am so happy I called Sam's tree service to remove my dead birch tree. My call was returned quickly and the work was scheduled and completed within a short period of time. They were professional and extremely easy to work with. I would recommend them for any tree removal or trimming project. It is nice to have a local company I can trust.
