Wow! Josh and his crew did an incredible job taking out a problem tree in my back yard, they had no access and had to drop the tree in a very limited space. They did it with aplomb. My experience with Coastal Tree Experts was outstanding from beginning to end. If you value skill, respect, knowledge, care, honesty, and integrity, this is your best choice. I just now sent my review but I forgot to add the 5 stars. Coastal Tree Experts is great. I'll continue using him for sure.

Sean Ellis (owner and amazing human) came out on March 7th to install a kestrel box after the habitat that they had lived in for years was destroyed by Davey Tree Service, contracted by PG&E. We won't be able to get the owls back, but with Sean's generosity, we might get our longtime resident kestrels back! Sean did this from the kindness of his heart, at no charge! He even cleaned out our rain gutters while he was up there! Thank you, Sean, for being a bright light in a tike of darkness for us! read more

We had an excellent experience working with this company. Josh was out to give us a bid promptly and the work was scheduled very quickly as well. The crew arrived and were very professional and industrious. We had 15 wax Myrtle shrubs and 8 hop seed shrubs that they shortened about 3 feet and raised up the bottom about a foot, as well as reducing the width of the overgrown shrubs, The shrubs were all shaped and trimmed n a consistent and appealing shape and the crew cleaned up the debris. What a difference it made! Josh and the crew made sure we were happy with the outcome. The process went so smoothly from start to finish and their bid was very competitive. We highly recommend the Coastal Tree Expert company for their knowledgeable team and great work! read more

I called them for an estimate and Sean Ellis responded promptly. He gave me a reasonable estimate and an approximate date for the work to be done. A week later his crew of 3 and a boom truck and chipper came and did an excellent job. They trimmed a very mature eucalyptus tree and cleaned up afterwards. read more

If you need tree/yard service look no further than Sean! Being from the beautiful town of Morro Bay it can sometimes be a challenge to find someone reliable to do ANY work on my house. I know, Morro is sooooo far from SLO... However, not only is Sean local he left me 100% satisfied. I was out of town spreading freedom, but Sean sent me a video description of not only what I wanted done, but some other things I didn't even think about. Then when the fateful day came to take care of some over grown trees Sean sent me video of all the work that had been done, +A job. I had an estimate from one of the other big names out of SLO and I was left very unimpressed, both in price responsiveness. Needless to say Sean will have my business until CA passes some law that your house must be overgrown by trees as to give it a more "natural" look... read more

Sean Ellis and his crew took care of our treasured oak trees like they were their own. I had used the same tree care company for the past 17 years and when I found out they had moved out of the state during pandemic, I was nervous to trust someone new with our trees. I spoke to and received bids from six (!) different local companies and Sean stood out to me as the most trustworthy and skilled of the bunch. He promptly came out and did a video walk through of the job, explaining exactly what he thought needed to be done and how he would go about doing it. His bid was not the lowest, but was extremely fair and encompassing. The crew worked hard and cleaned up after themselves so well, I could hardly tell they had been there. I seldom write reviews, but Coastal Tree Experts deserves every one of these five stars! Thanks for a job well done... read more

They did a magnificent job on our big beautiful oak tree, and the clean-up was amazing. Other than the tree being cleaned up so nicely, I could not even tell they had even been there. Thanks! read more

Sean and Luis with 2 other terrific guys showed up on time at my Los Osos home and brought SUNSHINE back into my yard. This was one of the BEST things I could ever do for my home. I am over the moon and sun with joy. They worked hard and quickly and did everything I wanted and noticed things I hadn't seen that needed to be removed or hedged. My place looks so great. I am so happy and appreciative of such great work and truly the nicest guys to do the job. Sean is Awesome! Sean even went to the neighbors to make sure he wouldn't cut anything of theirs and made sure everything was done correctly and safely and as requested. Thank you for bringing back light into a little Los Osos home. read more

We needed 4 citrus trees pruned. Sean came out right away and fit me in to his busy schedule. His crew did a great job. They were friendly and proud of their work. And, they should be!! Thanks to all. I'll definitely use them again. read more

5 stars. I would have easily given more stars if I could! Sean was recommended to us by our neighbors. I now know why! First of all, quality of work is impeccable. Secondly, they work really fast. We had two trees removed + stump grinding. One was a huge pine in the back yard with really hard access. By the time we came home from work, both trees were gone and the entire site was cleaned up. No evidence of pine needles even ever being there - none!!! Finally, the price could not be beat. I paid less to take out two trees with stump grinding than all other estimates for one tree. I got two trees out for less than the price of one tree from the competitors. Overall, highly recommend. Highly!!! read more

I needed an estimate for two big trees outside my house, I got in touch with Coastal Tree Experts, they were very professional and gave me a price that blew the others tree services away. I didn't personally use this company's service, however they were doing some work across the street this morning, and from what I saw they did a great job! According to the little girl I was babysitting (who is 3) kept saying, "they are doing so much work. They are working so hard. They must be very tired and hungry." If a 3 year old knows you're working hard, you must be doing a good job! read more
