Taro blended

Looooove this place! The donuts are so fluffy, they taste clean! Like they don't taste like old oil or anything. The establishment itself is super clean inside. The hospitality is also top notch! So friendly and welcoming, I feel really happy when I go here. The drinks are delicious as well! I haven't had the chance to get a sandwich but I'm sure they're delicious too. This time I went I got a taro blended drink and I love it! Tastes like fruity pebbles lol my husband got a regular iced Thai tea. He said it hit the spot lol thank you for your service! I am for sure going to be a regular here. This place was here before but was closed during the whole pandemic! It is now under new management and im glad because it's so close to my house!

The best Donut Shop in Bellflower/Long Beach. Sonny is so nice and he cares about his customers. This place is so clean and everything is fresh and the ice coffee is the bomb.

The journey continues for the ultimate Bear Claw... Good taste, not to sweet, but barely enough filling. Would buy it again if in the neighborhood. Like many Donut shops this is a Mom & Pop Place. Like service stations almost one on every or near an intersection.

I got a plain croissant and the bread is nice and thick on the outside and super soft in the inside. Super yum!

I was on my way to Habitat for Humanity and stopped by this place for a quick breakfast. Super sweet lady and yummy bites. Definitely satisfied with my quick turn, last minute choice lol

Donuts and coffee. Pastries and a cappuccino. Sandwich and a smoothie or boba drink? Ham and cheese croissant? Sure, Sam's has that! They also open nice and early so I can pop in and grab my order before jumping on the freeway to head off to work. Long Beach, Artesia and Lakewood have a TON of mom & pop donut shops and Sam's is my current fave. Located on the corner of Artesia & Clark, directly across from the Chevron in a tiny strip plaza next to the laundry mat. The shop is nice and open, and always clean. Within moments of the bell tinkling, you're greeted with a warm hello from the elderly lady who owns it with her husband. I don't typically do doughnuts in the morning because the overkill of sugary goodness is sometimes way to much for me and I'm bouncing off the walls haha. Anyhow, the shop is bright, light, and happy. Their displays were clean and no buggies of any sort inside. I've been to two different Granny's around the area and both had bats in the display. Gross! The selection of doughnuts, pastries, sandwiches and croissants is plentiful, for being such a small shop. I'm a big fan of their ham and cheese croissant but also on a bagel! So yummy when it's cold in the morning because the bagel or croissant is toasted/warmed so the cheese is all melty and ooey-gooey! Mm!! I've had just about 80% of their doughnut options and I'll be starting on their sandwiches and the rest of their croissants soon. I appreciate that they have a half dozen deal ($4.25/6) because sometimes, I don't want a full dozen but I also don't want just one or two. So on my semi-porky days, I grab a half dozen to go and get my sugar fix and my breakfast of champions in one stop haha. I love their maple bars, some of the better ones I've tasted. Doughnut holes are legit and not dry, all of their doughnuts are soft and moist. Never dry or stale, which you find at other doughnut shops after so many hours, yucky. Sandwiches I'm all about the #12. BLT, so yummy. They put onions on theirs, so I ask for without or take them off later, no biggie. But the bacon is soo nice and crispy and the tomatoes are ripe and definitely fresh. For a corner doughnut shop, they have pretty yummy ingredients on hand (^_^) Honestly, I come here cuz they have fresh, warm doughnuts, yummy croissants and I love the warm reception from the owners. For as long as I keep taking this particular route to work, I will continue to stop by Sam's on the mornings I'm not running behind haha, cuz their doughnuts and sammies are yumm-o!! If you're in the area, check out this cute little shop. And try one of their delicious options! Your tummy won't be disappointed.

The server (owner?) asked if we wanted cheese and Cole slaw, and that's how we got it. The sandwich was big enough to share so if the sandwich seems pricey, consider sharing. Although on a hungry day, I could probably eat it all with no problem. Dilly's has a fairly decent amount of craft beers on draft. I wasn't in a beer-drinking mood so I didn't look too closely at the list. I love it when restaurants support local brewers, and this looks like the kind of place that would do just that.

Heard about Dilly's Sandwiches having the most unique rotating set of beers on tap in Long Beach,…read moreso had to come to try it. The taste portions were very reasonably priced, allowing to create your own flight (or two). Specifically scheduled an early afternoon to come to the Lakewood Village neighborhood of East Long Beach. My wife found an angled parking spot right in front. It wasn't too crowded inside and the four of us found easy, comfortable seating in the brightly decorated dining room. One places and pays for the order at the counter, with the proprietors being very friendly and engaged. They brought out our beers after the pour, and the sandwiches a bit after (since each is individually carefully made). Beers: - Northern Lager [Oxbow] - ($5 for 13oz pour) was clean, crisp and a hoppy aftertaste. - Infinite Hotel [The Wayfinder X Bierstadt] (marked as $3 but charged $4) is a rice lager and was the favorite of the group for its drinkability - Winteruption [JK's Farmhouse] ($3) is a cider with very strong maple syrup overtones: never tasted anything like it. - Hyper Paradise [Rare Barrel] ($4) - saison and ale with mango and passion fruit. I liked this beer very much. - A Place Like Home [Pure Project] ($3) - Nitro poured Extra Special Bitter. - Double Negative [Grimm] ($4) - Imperial Stout, which I really enjoyed. - Amongst Friends [Sante Adairius] ($4) - a cherry saison, unusual and was glad to sample. A lot of work was put into creating this flight, with the careful pours and markings to make sure I knew what was what. I really appreciated the opportunity to sample all of these on-tap. In terms of the food, the group as a whole really liked them, though I guess I wasn't as impressed with my two samples, mainly because it used non-descript deli meat in OK quantities, heating them up when necessary. Hot Beef ($18) was my wife's, and it had been griddled with cheese to form a crispy lattice. The Ham and Cheese ($16) was served cold and had potato chips inside which my mother-in-law liked (saving the other half for home). Our friend and I split the Hot Turkey ($16) and Pastrami No 19 style ($20). The pastrami meat was piled high and the cole slaw was crisp and good, but was served cold (should have read the description more closely) and mediocre rye bread broke apart quickly. The Hot Turkey ($16) was served on ciabatta that had been grill pressed for a long time, creating a wonderful crust as good as any sandwich I've had. But the filling was OK, using standard turkey breast slices from a loaf and an ok stuffing...using hand carved turkey would have made a big difference here, but understand it's hard to do. Strangely, even though it's a pickle adorned shop, each sandwich just came with an ordinary pickle spear, what one would expect from a diner, not a deli. And the prices are on the higher side, especially with no sides and most not being particularly ginormous. But I loved how each sandwich used different breads, and how some of them were toasted very well. And having the opportunity to try these unique beers made it a really good experience.

Fast and friendly service for fresh food!…read more Ordered the flavorful and fresh seasonal goat with a sweet citrus vinaigrette. It comes with thin slices of chicken, pickled red onions, romaine and mixed greens, marinated goat cheese, chopped up roasted almonds, orange slices, fresh mint, and a drizzle of citrus honey. The QR code was for a Free Entree w/ purchase once the restaurant opens. Not one to pass up free food, I made sure to use my phone to scan & sign up. Once open, I was ready to check out Mendocino Farms for the first time. The menu at Mendocino Farms consists primarily of sandwiches, salads & soup. After a quick perusal, I thought the Peruvian Steak sandwich best whet my appetite. Peruvian Steak sandwich- Spicy aji amarillo marinated steak with Oaxacan cheese, herb aioli, red onions, tomatoes, shredded romaine on a toasted potato roll. I quite liked this. Tender steak, with fatty cheese. The vegetables provided contrast & texture. For my purchase, I went with a side of Southern Potato Salad. It was good, but similar to grocery deli potato salad. In hindsight, I should've purchased avocado added to my Peruvian Steak sandwich. Service was excellent. All hands were on deck, as Mendocino Farms opened only a few days prior. Each employee had a name badge, specifying their name & which entree was their favorite, helping indecisive customers choose what to get. Plenty of seating indoors & al fresco. Parking is at LBX, with Mendocino Farms being across Georgia's and facing the Hangar at LBX. I found the Peruvian Steak sandwich delicious, yet meager in quantity, considering the regular price. It's more of a substantial snack, than a full meal, in my case. However, it's great to have another quality food option in the area, and I look forward to coming back & exploring the rest of menu.

I got the Tony Hawk sandwich which is turkey, honey mustard, avocado, and provolone cheese, typically served on Dutch Crunch bread with "dirty sauce" which is how I got it. It was warm and had this sweet sauce taste to it. Got the Bayou blackened ranch chips and vanilla soda drink to go with it. Everything was delicious and the cashier was so helpful. I am excited to go back and try other sandwiches!

So disappointed because the concept sounds great but the food was just sooooo BLAND…read more Our first sandwich was the Elvis and it was absolutely flavorless except for the wasabi. The bread had no flavor, the chicken had no flavor, all that you could taste was wasabi. Our second sandwich was the Rawson Thurber and again it was very bland. The bread had no flavor the turkey had a little bit of flavor, all you could really taste was the cranberry sauce. This is high concept fast food, with lots of different ingredients, yet the final product is sorely lacking. In contrast, Jersey Mike's is low concept fast food, just basic subs. However, all the ingredients that go into their sandwiches are loaded with flavor......the bread, the meat, the sauces. On a positive note, they give you big portions, the staff is friendly and efficient. Won't be going back.

I stopped by for some lonche & I ordered their salmon bowl, hold the edamame. It comes with a piece of focaccia that I assumed was their signature thing .... But it was not that great. I think it is way too doughy compared to typical focaccia. I like my focaccia airy, with some bounce. This one was like a dense bread. Definitely not my forte for having focaccia. You're able to see in my attached photo just how thick and dense it looks. The salmon bowl itself was pretty refreshing. I think the dresssingggg was perfectly tailored to the bowl. Not too acidic, not too sweet, not too salty. It dressed the bowl up real nice. The salmon was tender, nicely cooked, not chewy-- I hate when I get cheewwwyyy salmon I want fish not gum. The rice and sweet potatoes were perfect! Absolutely a nice bed made for the salmon to lay on. I tried the Shirley temple it's way too sweet, more grenadine than anythang. I just optd for half unsweetened tea & half of their lemonade. It was average. The cranberry cookie was pretty good! Not something I usually lean towards but I was wowd to taste how good it was. Cranberry gave it that nice kick of tang on your tongue. Service was friendly, I ordered through the kiosk screen. It's clean inside and in the restroom as well. Plenty of parking in the plaza.

This is the first time I have had the option of a-la-catre ordering after visiting around a dozen tea rooms. Usually it's a fix offering plus add-ons. I truly think this sets them apart. My friend and I decided to try a-la-carte and it was perfect. We were able to order extras of items we loved and skip items we would enjoy, but not most interested in. Building our own tiered platters was perfect. Truly, every bite was fantastic! We each had 5 sandwiches and 4 scones (of which we shared all). Although we had favorite sandwiches, all were delicious! The scones also hit the spot. All were unique...traditional, savory and sweet for the full spectrum. Unfortunately, we were full and never made it to dessert. Based on everything we tried, I'm sure all dessert offerings are probably great too. As for service....it was equally wonderful. Leone took great care of us, offered us suggestions, and gave us a bit of background on the place. Love that the owners are a mother daughter team from England. It truly was a traditional experience and wonderful to have in LB. Note: They keep it simple with sandwiches, scones, fruit, desserts and teas. No additional offerings of soup or salad like similar places may have. I can't wait to visit again!
