This is a new eatery by the former proprietor of King Donair, just up the street. There was a nice little crowd in there when I arrived. I enjoyed the medium Chicken Shawarma, it was nice and tasty and messy, as it should be. And it seemed like just the right portion for lunch. Sam came by and cleaned the table and welcomed me to his new location, and commented on how pleased he was to see his former clientele showing up and enjoying his new place. He also advised me that he's created an excellent hamburger and encouraged me to come back and try it. I've been to this place several times and they have good food with reasonable prices, but when I visited them today I realized that the food handlers were not wearing a mask despite it being mandated. I told them that I'd feel safer as a customer if they did, but they didn't respond to it positively. I think it's people's choice if they don't mind getting food from a place that may not be following safety guidelines, I just wanted to put it out there for those who might be ordering online and not aware of their food handling practice during the pandemic. read more

This guy makes a pretty damn good donair, and his burgers are the best in Red Deer. His donairs are twice the size as the "other" donair place and he's definatley a lot quicker and generous with his portions. A large beef donair was almost more than I could eat, but it was for supper so that was OK. The regular size are perfect for lunch, and the price is fantastic. He is a nice, friendly guy who recognized me on only my second trip back. I will keep going back, especially since it's so hard to get a good burger in this town. read more

Sam's Donair is my favourite donair spot. Best tasting donairs, huge portions and great prices. The 8.95 lunch deal cannot be beat... you get a medium donair (which is like a large at other places!!) a bag of crispy fries and a can of pop. I am absolutely stuffed after that!! The donairs are by far the best I've tasted in red deer and the portions are big with lots of meat! The sweet sauce and the garlic sauce are very delicious, I can never pick one so I always get both. The staff is very friendly and the owner Sam is a great guy. I'd be happy to give his donair shop my money in exchange for a donair any day. The cherry on top is that the prices are very reasonable and the service is fast! read more
