This would be our 2nd visit. They offer Care Bakery Gluten-free buns so one of the few places I don't have to have a "lettuce wrap". Yesterday I ordered the fry sauce it was very thin, it tasted like you took All Dressed chip seasoning and turned it into a dip. I enjoy their steak fries they remind me of Red Robin's this is a nice detour when we are passing through to ans from Edmonton. read more

First time here and it was good. Dining area is throwback to old time dining and it is showing it's age but does have a charm. Staff is super friendly with questions about menu. We ordered the single boy burger with fries and onion rings. Gravy and home fries dip were both flavourful and yummy and worth the extra cost. Burgers were my least favourite item here. Pricing is a little high for what you get but it's the going rate these days when priced against traditional burger joints. Overall will make a trek again here in the future. read more

Butterscotch milkshake + onion rings + Mexi Boy burger = all kinds of happy My trip to Burger Boy was a later in the evening trip. When I think of later evening fast food, I tend to get nervous thinking that this is going to be their leftovers and I don't cares. But that was not the case. The food seemed freshly made, tasted it as well. There restaurant was clean and being cleaned while we sat there. There are tables and booths, no outside seating. It is located in on a corner with a pub and some other things. If you like onion rings, get theirs. I really was happy with my meal and will happy go again our next trip to Red Deer. read more

This was my first time visiting Burger Boy and I was not disappointed! I had the 3 piece chicken meal (with fries and gravy).... it was THE BEST fried chicken I've had in ages. Light and super crispy outside and moist and meaty inside. The fries were super crisp as well. The gravy was a nice consistency and not too salty. I also got fried mushrooms and they also were delicious. Lastly, the butterscotch milkshake I got was off the hook... HIGHLY recommend their milkshakes. This along with the friendly staff and table service will be why I make this a regular stop for me! read more

I went here for a takeout. Was on the road from Edmonton to Calgary. Wanted something fast and something I could eat while in the car. This place looks shabby but the food was great It was not what I expected. The spicy fries were curly and good. The Onion rings were super crispy. And best of all I had a Swiss mushroom burger. I'm always on the look out for GREAT burger places. Whether it's a hole in the wall, a big chain resto, or a high-end burger place. Burger Boy is in the hole in the wall category, and it's really not that great. The taste is OK. The freshness is not there. The fries and onion rings are just plain old frozen fried. And the worst part? The burgers are SMALL! AND the kicker is, they have powders for most of their shakes. Yick. read more

Texas Fried Chicken - Dinner Pack. Comes with gravy and a fountain drink. Steak Fries gravy both hot and taste pretty good. It does seem like the gravy is made from a mix, but I don't know that for sure. Chicken looks great and tastes ok. One drumstick, one wing and one thigh. 15 minutes to make. So keep that in mind if you were in a hurry and considering ordering this. I would have fries again, not the chicken. It did not taste great. read more

This place has a pretty good burger, I must say. Fast food but good fast food. Three of us had the mushroom Swiss burgers along with fries and onion rings. The fries and rings weren't really deep in color but they sure were hot and tasty. And I have to mention the gal taking our order - what a nice person! She was so accommodating and thorough. Also, the restaurant was clean - the hanging lamps had obviously been cleaned recently, as had the booths and windows, etc. Just a clean feeling all around. They obviously have pride in their business. We'll be back next time we're in town. No doubt about it! read more

I'll have to say, I was thoroughly disappointed with Burger Boy. Despite the one lousy review for this place, their website made it seem awesomely retro akin to our (Calgary's) Peter's Drive-In but with dining space. It took a good two months for me to finally try this place out. The lady at the counter greeted me so well, and recommended the Shroom Burger because it was one of the most popular items on the menu. It liked good to be so I agreed. She also recommended the combo deal with allows you to choose two small sides and a soft drink. I picked the spicy fries and the onion rings. When I asked for it to go, and made a comment about hoping it wasn't going to be messy, she told made sure to remind me that eating while driving is now illegal. (Thanks, lady.) The Shroom Burger was topped with a ton of sliced mushrooms in thick gravy. It was very mushroomy... in a bad way. It as too salty, and the gravy was so rich and mushroomy that it overpowered everything else. Needless to say, I took a couple bites and never touched it again. I onions rings reminded me of the standard onion rings you would get at a place like Burger King. So were the spicy fries. Actually, they tasted a lot like frozen McCain curly fries. Overall, I was thoroughly disappointed. I wasn't expecting the burger to be amazing, but I was hoping it was going to be a bit more memorable than that gross mushroom burger I ate in Red Deer. read more

We stumbled upon this place by accident looking for pizza...but figured burgers will do and we were pleasantly surprised. First service was fantastic, super friendly...brought everything to the table with a smile. Burgers were very good. Two shroom burgers (mushrooms, swiss, groceries), one shroom with cheddar and a double with cheese no groceries. Made all four combos which included two small sides; so we tried fries (steak), spicy curly fries and onion rings, and a pop. Ordered gravy on the side, which was good with a little extra pepper. As for taste, very fresh. Good seasoned burger and nice soft bun. Personally I wish the shroom burger had a little more seasoning in the sauce (onion/garlic) but it was still very good. Unlike Lisa G., I had a horrible delivery experience and would not recommend Burger Boy because of it. I ordered 2 burgers, a milkshake and a combo with fries and a soft drink for one of the burgers through Justeat's website on Wednesday evening at 7:00pm. Within minutes, I got a call from Burger Boy confirming my order. I thought that things were going to be great from then on but I was wrong!! After waiting an hour for my food, I called Burger Boy again and the worker said that the delivery guy was just about to leave. Long story short, our food didn't arrive for over an hour and a half after placing the order. In terms of food quality, everything arrived decently (pop had ice still, milkshake was thick and creamy, fries were seasoned, burgers were tasty) but I don't feel it was worth the wait or the $6 delivery charge. I would say enjoy Burger Boy if you live in walking distance or you are tired of driving to DQ. NOT if you are hungry for a burger and need delivery. Overall: Food: 4/5. Service: 1/5 read more

The only thing I can say positive about Burger Boy is they aren't a chain restaurant. Their burgers are just ok and the price equates, but the thing that really bothers me,..they pass the debit charge on to the customer. To clarify, if you pay for your order via debit, they add and additional 80 cents or more on to your bill. This is outrageous! Based on principal alone I have NEVER and will NEVER be back. Yes, I've been to Burger-Boy several times. Each time getting the mushroom burger, with onion rings and a drink. I loved it, burger was huge and onion rings are the frozen kind, which I prefer over the home-made onion rings from A&W (yuck) I had to stop going, not because the food was bad, but because I was gaining weight eating at Burger-Boy. The food is awesome and prices are also fair. I would recommend the store to others. read more

Burger Boy is soooo delicious! I have been eating at this restaurant for years, and their fries, milkshakes (which they have an awesome selection of flavours!) and burgers are just fantastic. Their delivery service has always been much faster than any other pizza/restaurant deliveries i've had. I was really surprised to see that it's had a couple of bad reviews, because really, truly, it's the best burgers and fries place i've been to in central alberta. Mozza-Bacon boy with a poutine accompanied with a chocolate shake makes for a wonderful meal. The burgers are freshly pressed on the grill and seasoned well served on a prepak bun with fresh veggies and the usual condiments. The poutine is served with large steak fries a generous amount of gravy (not from scratch) and a fair amount of marble cheddar cheese. The chocolate shake made with soft serve ice cream and a large scoop of chocolate sauce. The meal was brought out to my table from the back a nice little touch. Great food but horrible customer/delivery service. I'm at work and a few of us decided to order food for delivery. They have delivered to us many many times in the past. And the service quality has slowly declined. Longer and longer wait time for delivery. Getting our orders wrong. We Ordered at 545pm on a Saturday. Based on previous experience we gave them about an hr to get out food to us (3 ppl ordered 3 combos) 1 hour and 30 mins go by and no food yet so we call. They tell us the food just left the shop. Another 40 mins go by we call again. This time we're told the delivery driver can't find us and doesn't know where gaetz/50th ave is! Now We no longer want the food since it's been sitting in a car for 40 mins n clearly it's cold. After a lot of convincing it would be right there we said, no thanks keep that food and we requested some new food delivered hot. They told us "it's not our fault the delivery company took a long time. If you want new food you have to order more at full price." Took a long time? We waited over 2 hrs! my suggestion to them is hire new delivery drivers!! Tell them use a GPS!! There's no excuse for waiting 2 hrs for food and if you're that busy the logical thing to do would be to let your customers know!! The food itself is good I love the fries but don't get it delivered. Good selection of Burgers and Shakes. The burger patties are made in house and the buns also seem of a better quality than found at most burger joints. Fries and rings are good also although just your typical deep fried goodness. read more

The burgers are amazing and the fried chicken is the best in town. Though I have never felt sick after eating the food here, the actual restaurant is very dirty. If it was cleaner I would visit a lot more often. The only other thing keeping me from giving a 5 Star rating is the frustration related to the lack of English speaking and comprehension skills of some of the employees taking orders. read more
