We already had a membership with their competitor. I just didn't see a need to be a member of both. Now I do. Sam's closer. There are 2 Sam's Club's in South Tulsa and they're both easy for me to get to from my house. They have different things than their competitor. I like to shop at both. The last time Dan and I were shopping there, they offered to upgrade our membership for $14. A $20 discount on our purchases that day came with the offer. Not a bad deal. We got our membership upgraded and came out $6 ahead. I love their produce and meat sections. There are a lot of bargains to be had there. The store is clean and well organized, which makes shopping easy and pleasant. read more

Today was an enjoyable experience. Due to the holidays ringing in, we absolutely found the things we needed in stock with no problems. The Sam's sales and stock staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Sam's was extremely busy, but we made it through without any issues... which is somewhat rare at times. Pros: It's not the the closest location to my home, but it's on the way to work. Cheap gas. Cons: -I do the online ordering and they bring it out to the car, which is super convenient. But it also costs me $4 eat time. -Once they gave me a floral bouquet discount. Great! But then it infested my house plants with these tiny bugs. No great. -Hate the gas lines. People are supposed to drive in one direction. But the gas station attendants at this location let the people drive in whatever direction they want. This never happens at Costco (at which I am also a member). -I once waited over 2 weeks for them to order a tire for me and it never came. The female employee, Elise, was so rude and had horrible customer service. She was grumpy. And when I had her inflate my tires, she deflated them all to weird uneven numbers. THE GOOD: This is mostly for the return/membership desk. Went in to take advantage of the 50% off membership from "Valpak". The employee Sam, went WAY BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY" to help us. Typically, their computers were not working correctly & repeated attempts failed. He finally got a manager to override the system. He was the most pleasant & outgoing employee we've ever encountered at Sam's. OUTSTANDING! Rotisserie chicken here is still outstanding - especially compared to the bloody, broken bone crap they sell at Costco. THE BAD: No one from Sam's corporate has had the brains to put long hoses on the gas pumps like Costco has done. Forget getting anything at the restaurant at lunch. They allow non-members from one of the biggest high schools in the state priority over dues paying members. Typical of Sam's. Money outweighs loyalty to their members. read more

Called multiple times to member services and no one answered when I had placed an order for pick up and it says it will be ready by 3pm-4pm. I did not receive any confirmation that it is ready so I called and no answer. I decided to call in bakery and have me transfer Carene the lead in Bakery department transferred me over to member services and still no answer called her back again and explained the situation and I was glad that she helped me out and decided to take care of my issue. I don't know what's going on with their app if it's causing an issue or the pick up department that is having an issue. This is why I give this sams club a 3star. The only reason why I gave this place a good review 3 star because of Carene the lead bakery. I've found that different locations carry different things, but overall they carry the same stuff. If you need something in bulk, this is the place to go! Plus during most days (before 5pm) they offer samples throughout the food sections. They have "free days" every once in awhile where you can shop there without a membership, so you can kind of try before you buy. The membership prices are a little high, but depending on how often you shop there it can be worth it. I love their rotisserie chickens and fresh fruit, and their bakery cakes always taste so fresh! Right before the holidays start they have a "Holiday Taste of Sam's" event where you can visit the store without a membership and try several holiday themed samples. In the past this event has been really good, but this past year they seemed to skimp on the variety of samples. I don't say that b/c I went expecting a meal, but having been a member of Sam's Club since birth basically I've seen what they can do and this past year was not up to par. Overall this store is great to look around in, and hectic on the weekends so come prepared! Self check-out is a blessing and a curse - I'm leaving it at that. I've been going to Sam's like forever. I worked in the bakery at this Sam's a few years back. As in any wholesale grocery warehouse you have something for everybody....in bulk. You can get car services done while you wait, pictures printed, your medication filled at the pharmacy, cakes, muffins and breads ordered at the bakery, flowers picked up or arranged in vases at the floral desk, gas for your car, phone service started over at electronics, clothing, jewelry, furniture, office and household supplies, pet stuff....the list goes on and on. There is so much to look at and most of the time they carry what you need but there are times when something gets discontinued and that's not a good thing. Especially if you're running a business and are counting on them to have that product. They have expanded their prepared food items, I'm assuming to keep up with Costco, and have added a sushi area as well. They have little sample carts placed around the store where you can try something new, Costco samples are a bit more generous, but you get enough to taste a new product that you may have been wanting to try but didn't want to fork out the money for. They do have a snack bar that offers pizza, salads, sandwiches, drinks, ice cream, pretzels, hotdogs etc and there are combos that can be made with the items they have for sale. There are plenty of tables to sit at but beware if you come around 11-1. Union high school is located right next door and they usually have a line of students coming in for lunch here at that time. Each Sam's is the same but different. Just like Walmart. Each store does carry a few items that the other one might not have so it's good to look at different stores to see what items they do or don't have. A few things to note are that if you get car services done here, you drop your car off in the back and you'll have to walk all the way back to the front to enter the store if you're gonna shop or wait. They used to have a connecting door in the back but closed that up years ago. It sucks if the weather is bad. They do park your car back up front when they are done so that's nice. You can also call or shop on line ahead of time and then pick up your order later. They have an amazing HUGE rotisserie chicken that's cooked there a few times s day that you can get for under $5. They also periodically have vendors that come in and have specials running on their own items. A few things I've seen are knives, fudge, beauty and skin products, hair styling items, vitamins, exercise equipment, purses, paintings, etc They rotate and are any interesting addition to the items always there. read more

I was pretty upset and we had just joined Sam's club after hearing wonderful reviews about it. When we first walked in for the first time it was huge! And there was no greeters which is odd, you'd think someone would be standing at the front door. We shopped just fine and the employees helped us but looked irritated that we asked for help. What really pissed me off is the fact of when we left. The lady was really rude. She wanted to see our receipt which was fine and to mark it. The fact that she just looked pissed off and didn't ask if we found everything okay was rude. I even tried to ask her a question and she ignored me. I then said have a good day and she didn't say anything either. Makes me wonder if she was having a bad morning or it looked like she was just like that because of her actions towards the people behind us. I mean we will go back because it's close, but if she's rude next time - I will confront her about it. read more

Sam's is almost part of my family's Sunday tradition. After church, we go buy what we need and then head to lunch. It's crazy when you do the math and realize how much money you can save if you buy in bulk or in bigger sizes. It's definitely worth the drive. I can't wait to get one in Owasso! As far as Sam's clubs go in Tulsa I'd day this is my favorite location. For me and what I do its more convenient and has the same selection as the other 2 in the Tulsa metro. I don't use the service but they have a covered parking area for pre orders and a nice covered pick up area for large purchases . Usually the associates here and friendly and the club is mostly clean. It tends to be busy and full of patrons and that can make shopping difficult but it's like that anywhere else. They also have fountain drinks available when you check out which is nice. read more

I placed a delivery order last week to be delivered. The main need for the order placed was a case of Marathon toilet paper and that was missing when the order was delivered. I paid the extra fee for delivery because I'm 1.5 hour away from where it was needing to be delivered to. I have placed 9-10 calls between the 800 number, the local club, Spark, etc. The delivery driver was also immediately told it was missing. I'm needing a refund for the toilet paper AND the delivery fee to rearrange delivery of the item that I've already paid to be delivered. Sam's is not one of my favorite places. The only time I can stand to go is super early on a Saturday when very few people are there. Otherwise you have a bunch of people running you over with carts. And their cashier's always seem super grumpy. I can guess why. I will say that for bulk staples like toilet paper and tissues, you can't hardly beat the price. Ordering online and picking up isn't so bad, but the staff seems pretty confused about the whole process. I think I may just take to ordering those items online for delivery. read more

I came here last night for a special "Open House" where they open the store after hours for certain companies. Along with getting to shop in a relatively empty store (with no checkout lines!!), there were tons of samples + full sized portions for lasagna, meatballs, salad, and bread!! Everyone was SO nice. Every time we got samples, the employees would always thank us for coming to the open house. They were probably made to say that, but it still made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. read more

Similar to Costco in other cities. Sam's Club is a great place to save money by buying in bulk. Pay less for more vitamins and over the counter medicines. Sometimes 2 or 3 times more in quantity for the same price as other places. Get great prices on fruits, vegetables, and meat. I definitely try to do all my shopping at Sam's Club whenever possible. It's worth the basic membership cost, but the extra "plus" membership I don't think is necessary. read more

All my life I have been seeking the perfect pretzel. Today i thought to myself "why not try Sams $1.00 pretzel" I got and waited in the ridiculously long line behind the 3 people I came with. I ordered the pretzel and went to my chair that was hardly clean. I took the first bite out of my pretzel and noticed something... it was RAW. Rawer than when i had intercourse with your mom. The dough stretched a solid 6-8 inches... trust me i am very familiar with this length. This bread was so undercooked I am convinced gave me some kind of sexually transmitted disease, herpes maybe? Also, as we were approaching the exit i'm convinced I was sexually assaulted while trying to obtain a substance known as "twine". Ik unfamiliar with this substance but i'm sure it has to do with some kind of drug. Fast forward 20 years later, I am now on the run from the police for the murder of small child Cassandra Grace. For those of you curious, i murdered this child because she was holding a pretzel and of course, I had to take a bite of course and she said no. Obviously the only thing I could think of for it is to murder her on the playground in Tucsan, Arizona. I feel as though there is nobody to blame except this specific Sams Club. I wish for the entire dollar I invested into that one horrific pretzel back as I reinvest it into finding the perfect pretzel. read more

So i am an applicant to try to work at the Tulsa Sam's Club on 71st and Mingo. I had an interview on the 16th of September and i didnt get an email within 2 or 3 days so ive decided to call up there for the second time today to check on my application/interview process. i choose to call the member sales associates area because every other area had to do with food or grocery. The first time i called was on a Saturday and the lady that answered seemed really rude and in a rush to get off the phone. i ask her if i can check on my process and how everything is going and she replies, "oh no sweetie, you're gonna have to call back on a Monday" and i respond "okay" because maybe they can only answer questions about applicants on Weekdays. As soon as i said "okay" she hung up in my face. She did not ask me if i needed help anything else or if i had any more questions. Today is Tuesday and i call again. The same lady answers and i ask the same question: "I am calling to check up on an Applicant Process, would i be able to?" and the lady cuts me off and says "hold on" before i could even finish my question, putting me on hold. i patiently sit on hold for 20 minutes, before she says "you're going to have to call Workdays, we dont do any of that here." Irritated at this point because of her attitude, i ask "well, do you have their number i can call?" and she puts me on hold AGAIN for about 5 more minutes. At this point, im getting more and more upset because her attitude is trash and im just needing help. After taking me off hold, she says "yeah, we dont have ANYthing to do with that, you're gonna have to call workday." i respond, "well, is there a SITE i can get the number from to call them??" and she continues to ask another associate if the number is on the computer and tells me, "yeah you're just gonna have to look on the computer" NOT EVEN answering my QUESTION correctly. I figure that this lady is not going to help me so before i hang up i suggest to her that she calms her tone down for the next person because it sounds like she has an attitude and it was very rude. She rudely says "no i dont" and as i proceed to say "yes you do ma'am" she blatantly hangs up in my face. The lady was very rude both times i called and i was nothing but patient and respectful. Remember, this Member Sales Associate is from the Sam's Club on 71st and Mingo next to Union High School. I was not treated with any type of respect and you all should find a new person to answer the phone as a Member Sales Associate. read more

We ordered a cookie cake from the bakery here for my graduation party it was not up to our standards whatsoever. We have always gotten our cookies cake here and have had no problem, but lately they have been messing up and taking shortcuts on my cakes, and my friends who have order cookie cakes from here. We ordered a double layer cookie cake and asked for frosting in the middle, which they did not do. It was literally just two cookie squares stacked on top of one another. In addition, the border on the cake was at least two inches from the edge with no frosting from then on, making the cake look bare. We asked them to fix that, which they did and complained they messed up because they were "being swamped all day." While there, we noticed that several other people were sending their cakes back because their order was not correct. I would not recommend this bakery. read more

This is a great place to get loaded up on things you NEVER want to run of like toilet paper, milk, shampoo etc. Plus, they always have a good selection of the latest hardback books at better prices then the chain stores. Review would have been 5 stars, but I once was shopping there early, early in the morning and saw a rat run across the aisle in front of me. I mentioned it to an employee and he said, "yeah, we've had every pest company in town trying to catch that rascal." Kinda creeped me out, but at least they know they have a problem. read more

Their door people have been frequently rude to us when we refused to let them mark on our receipt. It's not in the Sam's agreement that you let them mark your receipt, which is your own property. All the agreement says is you must let them check your receipt and your items. Out budget software won't read marked receipts. So we politely asked them not to mark them. They insist it's their policy and they MUST. When we show them the agreement we signed doesn't specify that, they remain rude. Once they manhandled our cart and went to physically grab and detain my wife when we attempted to leave the store with our purchased items without letting them mark the receipt. We let them check it. Just not mark it. My wife had just had surgery and their physical aggression caused my wife to strain and she was in pain for the rest of the day l. I called the manager, talked with her, and received no apology. They repeated their rude behavior the next time we visited. We haven't been back. We've let our membership lapse and we joined Costco whose agreement is more specific and their employees more professional. read more

I experienced the worst customer service at Sam's pick up this morning. I arrived at 10am to pick up my order. I called to let them know I was outside. I was told, "your orders not ready.". When I asked "how long would it be?". I was left on hold for over 5 minutes. I decided to give them some time so I left to run an errand. Then I received an email saying my order had been picked up. I called back to inquire why I received an email saying my order had been picked up. The same woman answered the phone and after I introduced myself the woman said "your order is ready" and hung up on me. I called back and requested to speak with a manager. While I was trying to tell her what happened, she kept trying to interrupt me. Once I finished speaking she gave me several excuses: someone called in, they had several orders this morning, etc. She did apologize at the end but she didn't understand why I was upset. I wasn't upset that my order wasn't ready when I arrived. As someone who is also in the customer service industry I understand things happen. I was upset about how it handled. The fact that the worker hung up on me is completely unacceptable. The fact that she told me my order wasn't ready and didn't give me an ETA is completely unacceptable. Lastly, when I picked up my order, the worker didn't speak to me. She didn't confirm my order before loading it in my vehicle. She simply loaded it up, slammed my trunk, and walked inside. I will never shop at Sam's again. I will be cancelling my membership and taking my business to Costco. read more
