The chickens are obviously smaller. I have read they want to charge more. They won't raise prices because Costco has no intension of raising the cost. Sam Walton has no fear in ripping off consumers. I have found Costco's items are larger in count and ounces and their coupons are more generous. Sam's sells their Crest toothpaste in a 5 pack for the same price as Costco but the toothpaste ounces are smaller than Costco's Tubes. read more

I don't know what has happened to Sam's, but I have had a business membership there since 1991. It was not unusual for us to spend a few thousand a month. I will NEVER renew a membership with them again. In the last two years, the shipping orders have been a disaster. I have had orders shipped that took weeks and I have had orders that never arrived. I have had potato chips buried under heavy cases of V-8 juice. In December, my shipping order was so screwed up, I got four separate emails within ten hours saying the shipment was out for delivery, the shipment was cancelled, the shipment was out for delivery again, and then the entire shipment- including what they just cancelled- was pushed back two weeks. I started a chat with customer service to try to figure out what was going on. The agent said they could only status items that had a tracking number, so I asked which shipments had a tracking number. She replied she didn't know, but she would "update" me when she found out. I asked about the cancelled items and she said I could cancel the rest of the order and get it delivered today, so I asked if I could cancel the entire order. Nope, only items with a tracking number, but she didn't know which items had tracking numbers until they shipped. Okay... so I couldn't cancel it until after it was shipped, which would take weeks? I eventually cancelled the entire order only to have random items show up weeks later. When I asked a "customer service" agent how to get my $180 membership fee that I had just paid refunded because I was going to cancel my membership, she hung up the chat without another word. Shipping used to be really good, but last year they started arriving really, really late. Then they added a minimum order for shipping. Irritating, but understandable. Now, about 25%or more of the items I would add to a pickup order can ONLY be shipped and it can take weeks. I have cancelled three entire orders since January because of delays- not a day or two: weeks where nobody knew the status of the order or if and when I would even get it. I don't know about Costco or BJs, but I plan to try them out when they offer temporary memberships. My advice is for people to avoid Sam's like the plague. read more

Its ok. The pizza is delicious though. The prices at the food stall are good. The tables are sometimes dirt, more often than not. The garbage on the floor by the trash is always there. The drink machine around it is always sticky as is where you get the straws and lids. The bathrooms are always dirty. The workers always seem to have an attitude as well. Reserved spots are often taken by in store shoppers. *Store: Odd layout, well-stocked, dirty restrooms, below average customer service, Baltimore County PD flank the door (good and bad sign). The bakery has mass-produced baked goods. The quality and freshness has declined. Overall, decent produce. I rarely buy raw meat, no opinion. Self checkouts are slow and the human cashiers are not very nice. Hold onto your receipt, as it is checked prior to leaving the store. Folks must be robbing this place blind. *I sincerely wish there was a Sam's in Harford County. This shopping center (especially Walmart) is like an episode of 1990's Jerry Spinger and Cops and the weekends are even worse. Not out of the ordinary to see two adults cursing at each other. Man oh man... hubby decided to bring me along for the ride to get gas, as well as some groceries. The parking lot alone will drive you bananas, there is one intersection that os doomed to cause an accident. The parking lot was packed but we did find a nice spot to park. We went inside and began our stroll through the store for items. I was shocked to see Morgan State paraphernalia: plates, thermos/ water bottle combo and shirts. I picked up one since I needed a new shirt. It's hard to navigate throughout the store when people block aisles to scroll on their phone, or when they stop without while walking or habe multiple groups of people with carts block the aisle to have a discussion about nothing, amd you habe to wait for them to slowly move after excusing yourself multiple times. Some items here are cheaper than Bj's and vice versa. We picked up some fruit, cheese, meat, drinks, and some snacks (healthynof course!). To check out, we didn't have to wait in the long lines. I went into the store to visit bakery to get a cake made for my son birthday. I was told the machine that's used to print images was broken but I could call in a few days to see if it was fixed. 1 1/2 weeks later I called and was placed on hold for 41 minutes. The person that answered the phone never even came back to the phone a different person eventually picked up and ask what was I waiting on hold for. I told her she said I will radio them hold on about a minute later she said it was still broken. I don't understand why it took 41 minutes for that. I've been a Sam's club member for a couple years and it wasn't until today that I discovered that I've probably been paying for groceries and snacks that didn't even have all that it should include in each box. 1) There was a box of Cheez-It® Snap'd™ that should have contained 42 bags (21 bags of each flavor). I counted the box and saw only 19 bags of one flavor and 22 of another flavor. You do the math. 2) There was a box of Nabisco Ritz Bits Cheese Cracker Sandwiches that should have contained 30 bags. When I opened this box, there were crackers all strewn inside the box, not even in packaging. 3) I've been to my local Sam's club to get broccoli and every time (over 4 times) that I've gone to the club, the broccoli section has completely brown/rotten broccoli. Every one of the packaged broccoli bags were all rotten. I mentioned this to a representative there and he said he would check into it. But when I returned the next week, still the same. HORRIBLE! Worst Sam's Club I've ever been too. I would give it 0 stars if I could. The cashiers and staff are the worst, how hard is it to put a smile on your face? They act like their too good for you, hello sweetheart ..... you work at sams club. The parking sucks around here, you have pedestrians walking around everywhere, stops signs every 5 feet. Total nightmare, I had to park in Home Depots parking lot. After an hour shopping in Sams Club, me and my family went to order a whole pizza from the Cafe? Of course, they burnt it. The cashier had a beard net with his hair net, SERIOUSLY? No gloves neither. I also had to change my tires for my car. I specially told them to change the two front tires. After waiting an hour, I go out to check out my tires, and they put the new tires on the rear. I went back and talked to them. They all gang up on me telling me how its illegal to change the front tire, and other BS, talking down to me like I'm an idiot because I'm a women. I may not be a car expert, but If im paying over $200 for tires to be install in the front, I WANT THEM DONE THE WAY I WANT IT. In the end, they never change my front tires. So on November the 18th I placed an online order for a spiral ham at Sam's Club to be delivered on Sunday the 20th so 10 minutes before my order was delivered they sent me a text and said oops we don't have the hand we had to cancel it and my response was cancel the rest of the order too unfortunately it was delivered 10 minutes later when I called and complained they said well it wasn't they're doing it's the people who operate the food deliveries that's not the right answer I had plenty of time on there for them to understand that I wanted a ham they could have taken that and set it aside for me in the freezer or the refrigerator section like other stores do. I get in the store and I have to dodge through ratchet people left & right that stand in the middle of the isle with their thumbs up their butts. Finally get to the cashier and the group in front of me was so kind to let me ahead of them because I had two items (god bless their souls).... I explain this to the cashier and she gives me an attitude for no reason. Then she demands my sams card club... starts complaining to her co worker about how tired and miserable she is. Doesn't even smile and wants to bring me to her miserable state. I finally leave with my 2 items and she doesn't say "have a nice day" or any other kind gestures... I find myself stuck because 2 dumb employees left a huge cart of boxes in the middle of the floor.... while trying to squeeze through they just look at me instead of clearing the way. They didn't even care. Then I had to dodge through the parking lot again and try not to get killed just so I could get a discount on water. I picked my girlfriend up at Petco and I ripped my Sam's Club Card up right in front of her and threw it out the window. I joined in January but who cares... they can keep their $50.00.... Ok so Yall know I have 6 kids and a hubby so Sams is a must! I love this location. I make it work for me. The previous reviews are true, if you are trying to be a weekend warrior you will have to be ready for long lines packed frozen section and not so friendly staff (ok let me not be general...there was one old gentleman who was over it...just was an unhappy camper and was spreading his grumpiness) Anyhow...I am a week day mama. Kids get to run free in the huge aisles the employees aren't so horrid. (Which reminds me how annoying it is to have employees come up to me telling me what my kids can and can't do.) Recently they have 3 tiered cakes for sale in the bakery. This location has more goods than the one in timonium but timonium is a calmer experience. Sams Club Rosedale MD Waited in line for 45 minutes while cashier let another customer go out to parking lot to get something meanwhile we ask to be rung up and he said he couldn't because customer was half way rung up with his order. Walk by sample tables 3 times , 3 different tables and the reps there did not asked us once to try the products they were promoting but, when some other customers of a different effnic came by the reps ask them to try the product. This was certainly not the first time we encounter this at Sams club.This was reported last time and it still nothing done. I actually paid to be treated this way. I had never been to a Sam's Club before, and will never again. Customer service is a very low priority for this place. Nobody seems to know what they are doing. They sell used products, like the coffee maker I bought. When I got it home, half of the parts were missing and there was water in it. I took it back. It took an hour to get through then line of others wanting to return items. When I finally made it to the counter, I was told to wait while they got permission for me to return the item. 15 minutes later someone finally gave that permission. I was given a look like I was some kind of leper, they were whispering to each other, and generally acting like they were doing me a favor for returning the junk they sold me. I joined one month ago. When I first went, the Golden Ring club was unable to print an ID card for me so I was given a temporary card. The next two times I went, the same thing happened. After waiting in line a minimum of 10 minutes to get to customer service each time. The last time I was there she was able to print my card for me. Today I went and got to the register and was told my card was expired. I had to go again to customer service where she was again unable to print a card for me and gave me a temporary card. I had 3 items that I was purchasing and was told she could ring me up there. She told me I had to wait and took another customer in line and then rang me up. She took the temporary card she had JUST issued me and would not give it back. She told me it was a one day pass and that I would have to wait in line at customer service next time I came in.
