Each package has 8 pieces and a packet of shoyu. After trying both, the kimchi version won me over a bit more. The other option is lighter in flavor, and I'm a fan of bold and spicy food. Adding the shoyu helps, but I could easily eat all the kimchi ones alone. I'm not sure I'd get them often, but I like having an option in the grab and go section for when I'm short on time and hungry. They also added some Pulmone vegan-friendly microwave dumplings to the frozen section, so I got those too. I noticed some plant-based bulgogi kimbap in the frozen section, but I decided to skip them because I'm iffy about the textures of frozen kimbap. I love when grocery stores have vegan-friendly options! I hope this means they'll start adding more vegan-friendly options in the grab and go hot food section. A tofu and veggie rice bowl would be nice!

Before I went vegan, I used to come here for the sushi, chirashi, sandwiches, hot bar, and milk bread. They also have some cool snacks in the freezer, like pizza baos and matcha ice cream.

I found a tea section to be well stocked. I also recognize some of the tea brands. 99 Ranch has gone with lower cost options, but if you buy 6 ounces of tea, are you gonna be stuck with an enormous supply. Better to go with reliable brands that I have enjoyed in the past. I loved the produce section. It was nice and fresh. It also had wider selection of produce than other supermarkets. The store itself is stunning. The the aisles are spacious. The store is meticulously clean. The shelves are fully stocked. There were only about two items which were shopped out. The snack area and the frozen foods were even more interesting. It's obvious in those two sections that there were many more Korean brands. I should've tried some, but it's hard for me to resist snacks and there was a good chance that would finish the entire bag in one go. Better to skip it entirely. The parking lot for the supermarket is spacious. I had no trouble finding a spot even though I arrived in the late afternoon when everybody has gotten off work. I live about two hours away. And I am very jealous because there is no Hankook near me.

Madras Groceries have none of them.

My management was looking for cozy and nice place to have Christmas party. Without thinking I recommended them Samovar. I should mention that our company orders catering from them very often, and people of course start asking where this delicious food comes from... I am very frequent customer and we usually celebrate all family events there. Irina who is always very nice and friendly provided outstanding service that day. Banquet room was nicely decorated, with Christmas tree, and beautiful ornaments on the walls. Whole place was extremely clean and created un-forgettable holiday spirit. We had a big variety of appetizers, 2 main courses and a lot of sweets at the end. You should absolutely try their chicken shashlik and pirojki. Folks at work can not forget all this food and keep asking me to have lunch there. I highly recommend Samovar to all my friends and coworkers. Cute little mom and pop Russian deli and acting place ran by a sweet older Russian couple. They've got a good selection of deli items and hot foods I've never seen anywhere else. The soup and cabbage rolls are really great! And you get a lot of food too! I usually have leftovers for the next day! It's truly an odd sorted place.i agree with the helper who compared it to a Russian 7-11. So funny, but so true! All kinds of pantry odds and ends you. It need or want, if you were a Russian caterer. I see this place as a supply stop for Eastern European and Russian tasties. Freshly made borcht. The best sour cream in the fridge case, fresh Hugarian style pickles (crunchy) and fresh sourkraut. Awesome selection of teas. Great selection of Hungarian, Rumanian, and Russian jams and preserves. It like raiding my grandmothers pantry. Typically Russians are not overly effusive sales people. It was a more pricey lunch for 3 (luckily, one of the sandwiches was split between 2 people). But if you don't mind paying a little more for quality food, and much less than a restaurant, I think you'll be pleasant surprised at what you can find in the deli.

He reviewed the camera recording of my transaction and saw that I had inadvertently exposed my credit a second time and caused the problem. It usually takes me two and a half hours but hey I get to see my friends and drop in on Dittmer's. I usually buy the smoked ham hocks because I am addicted to a Cuban black bean soup. I have tried smoked ham hocks from other sources, but the results were so bad that I threw out the soup. The only place I have found that has true smoked ham hocks is Dittmer's. I noticed the price of ham hocks has gone up. But many of the other prices have held steady. The store remains neatly organized and is spic and span. It's kind of what you would expect from a German shop. Carlo's black bean soup from All around the world cookbook by Sheila Lukins. Totally worth a 2.5 hour drive. 2 pounds of black beans Quarter cup olive oil 3 cups, diced onions Eight cloves of garlic, bruised and peeled. One smoked ham hock 6 quarts water 2 tablespoons +1 teaspoons ground cumin 1 tablespoon dried oregano Three bay leaves. 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper Pinch of cayenne 6 tablespoons chopped flat leaf parsley 6 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves. 1 teaspoon salt Two medium red bell peppers, diced reserve a quarter of a cup for the garnish Quarter cup dry sherry 1 tablespoon pack of brown sugar 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice. One cup of crème fraîche or sour cream. Soak the beans overnight, drain and rinse. Heat the oil over low heat and sweat the onions and garlic, about 10 minutes. Add the beans with the ham and the water to a large pot. Stir in the 2 tablespoons cumin, the oregano, bay leaves, black pepper, cayenne, and 2 tablespoons each of the parsley in cilantro. Bring to a boil, then simmer, uncovered until the beans are very tender and the liquid is reduced by about 3/4. This will take about one and a half to two hours. Transfer the bone to a plate and let it cool slightly. shred the meat and return it to the pot. Stir in the remaining 4 tablespoons parsley, 2 tablespoons cilantro, salt, and all except 1/4 of a cup of the bell peppers, the remaining 1 tablespoon cumin, the sherry, brown sugar and, lime juice. Simmer another 30 minutes, stirring frequently. Adjust the seasoning and serve hot. Garnish with a dollop of crème fraîche and a sprinkling of the diced peppers and chopped cilantro. Eight large servings or 12 small portions.

For popular demand, they opened to the public, then moved to this location a few year back. Most things here are "buddhism compliant", if your restrictions are strict, ask for the exactness. Recently, they started to offer "wheel pie" 車輪餅. It's a popular Japanese/Taiwanese snack. Basically a pancake-like batter to form the shell made a mold, then fill with whatever. This nostalgic snack were well made: crisp shell (toast oven reheat well) and fillings delicious and at the right ratio. Pick your own flavors among about a dozen.

But, I really miss those old mom/pop grocery stores there was such warmth and heart in those places. Wooltari, though a smaller grocery store, is on a different level. They carry high quality food, most of which comes directly from S.Korea either frozen or dried to preserve its freshness. Seafood, variety of rice cakes, ready to eat meals, excellent sesame oil, handmade dumplings, seasoning marinades, crab, and many organic items. I tried their frozen persimmon shake a bit pricey, but I loved it. I think the guy working there is the owner, and he's incredibly pleasant. If you have any questions about Korean food, he'll kindly answer them all. I highly recommend it definitely check it out.
