Despite this, she brushed off my concerns and pushed birth control anyway, offering no real explanation, alternatives, or discussion- it felt like it was prescribed simply because of my age. I also never received my lab results and had to call weeks later to find out I had a yeast infection. I was told I didn't need treatment if I "felt fine," yet no one had informed me what symptoms to look for. When I asked questions, I felt talked down to instead of helped. Overall, I felt dismissed, uninformed, and unheard. I would not return to Dr. Abaigeal Thompson or recommend her to anyone looking for a provider unless you want someone who shoves birth control down your throat. Never ended up taking the many prescriptions- thank goodness!

Walnut Hill, in an effort…read moreto "help" its patients, has implemented the ubiquitous obnoxious Phreesia App, but this version is over the top. Each day at least a week before the appointment, I get a more threatening text and email stating that I "MUST" check in online before I reach the office. Note to Walnut Hill, I WILL NOT use my home/work MY time to check in. I am hiring you, not the reverse. You always keep me waiting, and I will use that time to fill out any paperwork, which is never needed, because I am a long standing patient. Please modify this Phreesia rap before I change practices. No other practice demands that I MUST do anything. Over the top tone deaf to your patients.

In the moment, and as a 1st time IVF patient, I thought my experience was "normal" but after I…read morefinally switched clinics, I realized how bad my experience was at DFW Fertility. Over the course of 2.5 yrs, I did 5 retrievals, 1 transfer (ended in MC) and countless tests. Spent about $75K cash out of pocket at this clinic, not including meds. Dr. Thomas is very sweet & knowledgeable, but I only spoke to her a few times. Once at the initial meeting, and only after that when something bad happened. The place runs like a puppy mill. There are too many patients, no personalized care, all paid for in cash. Every time I tried to schedule a call to talk to the Dr. my 15 minute phone call appointment was usually 1-2 weeks out. I had no direct contact with the Dr, only my nurse, which changed a lot. It would've been nice if Dr. would've updated the plan/protocol, but nothing changed after each failed retrieval. After 5, I was told "this is your new norm". I switched clinics & that turned out not to be true. Medication protocol change made all the difference!! & I have new Dr's email for any questions. Better 1-on-1 care. The nursing staff was nice, but no one took the time to read my chart before seeing me. "What are we looking at today?" was usually the 1st question. I shouldn't have to tell the nurses what I am there for each time. The most heartbreaking instance was when I was in for bleeding, actively miscarrying twins, & nurse asked me what I was there for. Take 2 minutes & read the chart!!!! I didn't see Dr. at this visit, even though she was aware I was coming in. I was lucky enough to get a grant for IVF, the check was sent directly to the office. The 1st one for $10K and the office staff/billing dept. lost it. I called for literally weeks looking for it (tracking info said it was delivered). No one knew, & everyone I spoke to was irritated to deal w/me. I was told that it wasn't there & I needed to figure it out. A few days later, I was told it was "sitting on someone's desk" & was never put in system. Fine, mistakes happen. But, same experience w/the second check. Next, I again was lucky enough to have $7K in meds from a VA pharmacy sent for free. All refrigerated. I spoke to my nurse beforehand & was told it was fine to pick them up at the office. I was again calling for days looking for the meds & spoke to at least 5 different people who had no idea where they were. A consistently rude & unhelpful woman named Colleen in billing had the nerve to ask me "Are you sure you're actually a patient here?" on one of the calls. I nearly lost it. Next day, they are "found in a fridge" that no one looked in, out of the original box. My husband went to pick them up, & watched the staff get from a hallway. I'm not convinced the meds were ever in a fridge at all. My retrieval that round came back with nothing... Next, the billing staff repeatedly coded one of my medications incorrectly to insurance for weeks. I told them multiple times (after spending hours talking to insurance) that the meds needed to be billed through my medical, not pharmacy benefit. I was told they didn't know how to do that. The back & forth, lack of effort, & timeline squeeze, resulted in me coming out of pocket $2500 for 1 injection so my transfer could happen on time. 2nd time I had to get it I started the fight with the billing department a month early, and magically they did it correctly = $0, covered by insurance. The girl in billing was incredibly rude to me & told me that I should've had my nurse confirm how it was being coded, & it was my fault I didn't alert more people the 1st time. I was in the office trying to get documentation of the submittal for my reimbursement claim, & I had to argue with her for 30 mins to get my own documents. I went to one of the 5 retrievals and on my way into the office, I stepped on a bag of blood vials outside the building on the ground. I think this is more the runner's fault than the office, but it was just another issue in failed process. Patients' bloodwork results can be time sensitive & it would have enraged me if my cycle was pushed back because of such a careless mistake. Plus, names were on the vials. I turned it into the nurses, I got a "meh" response & didn't feel like it was important to them. Different retrieval, we were using frozen sperm, I had already gone back for the procedure, and my husband was called to give a fresh sperm sample. He explained we were using frozen sperm, & the nurses were unaware. Retrieval was unsuccessful, I wonder if this contributed. Broken process/bad communication. TJ at the front desk should be retrained to work in the service industry, particularly one so expensive & emotionally burdensome on the patient. I might as well have been buying a car w/how unconcerned she was with my questions. Halfway rude. Theres more but out of space. I wasted time, eggs, & $$ here. Spend $$ elsewhere w/individualized care & plan updates.

We had an initial consult with Dr Gada. His bed side manors were awesome. He seemed to really care…read more After the consult we decided to move forward with our fertility journey. Just to give you an idea of what all procedures we did with him, here's a list. 1- IUI 2- Egg Retrievals 2- Transfers (one was only an attempt) 1- Polyp removal surgery Once the initial great consult was over..... we almost NEVER saw the Dr. We saw him only for the major procedures. Never for sonograms. Never for appointments leading up to the procedures. Not even for our IUI. We didn't even talk to him at any point during or leading up to our IUI. A nurse performed the IUI, not him. After my first egg retrieval we decided to get our embryos PGT tested. The company that they sent our biopsy's to..... LOST OUR BIOPSIES. It took a month and a half to get the results in on if our embryos were okay or not. Every time we would call the company to ask if they had found them, they didn't even know what I was talking about. I called Dr Gadas office on two different occasions in tears that nobody would help me and they lost our biopsy's. We were informed it was up to me to figure it out. They wouldn't even call the company for me. It was DEVASTATING. A nurse gave me the company's representative number and said "Maybe this will help, there's nothing else I can tell you." Fast forward to our transfer. Again- One of the only times we see the Dr. I ended up having a miscarriage. Never talked to the Dr, not even a phone call once it was confirmed I was having a miscarriage. I finally called the office to see if we could talk to the Dr to see if we would change protocol, or If he had any idea what happened. We were informed he could "maybe call us on a Tuesday when he got off work." I pleaded for them to ask if he could call after 5:30 as I had to work that day (they wouldn't let us pick any other day.) We were told they would leave him a note and that's the best they could do. Sure enough, he called at 4. I couldn't answer the phone so he had to talk to my husband. My husband recorded the conversation so I could hear it later..... he wouldn't even get my chart out to look at it during the conversation. Fast forward to egg retrieval number 2. We again asked if we could talk to the dr to see if our second egg retrieval would follow different protocol..... again.... We were told he would "try to call us on a Tuesday after work"..... and again.... He didn't even have my chart pulled when he talked to us. We were nothing but another cow in his cattle call. Fast forward to my next transfer. They MISSED my ovulation and we had to scrap the ENTIRE cycle. No call from the Dr. No changed protocol. We didn't even request a call from the dr after that. On top of the Dr complaints, many times the nurses missed things. You're never assigned one nurse. You talk to the office through a portal. So many times you talk to multiple people who don't know what you're talking about. Because of this MANY times we had to remind THEM to send in a prescription. On one occasion they didn't even remember they were going to put me on birth control to speed up my transfer date. I had to go over it with them and request it be done. Unbelievable. My husband was FURIOUS. The amount of negligence was so upsetting and truly disturbing. We stayed with him so long because we kept thinking "We're almost done after this procedure." But then we'd have something else go wrong and when all was said and done, we were with him almost exactly a year to the day. We were nothing but a cattle call. The real kicker. Dr Gada was SO HARD to get ahold of and NEVER was there for ANY appointment other than a procedure. But once we decided to leave, he immediately called me and asked if there was anything he could do and if I was okay. A YEAR We waited for him to talk to use and at least act like he cared. Fast forward to now. We switched Dr's and the difference was night and day. We were assigned a nurse and she's the only nurse we talk to. And she answers all our emails and has regular meetings with us to make sure we feel secure in all our decisions. We see the Dr EVERY visit unless it's something super minor like a blood drawl. The level of care is SO UNBELIEVABLY different. Once we got away from Dr Gada I started reaching out to other women. Here's what I figured out. Years ago he cared a lot and was super attentive, but once his numbers got to where they are now, he does as little as possible and relies on his nurses to do everything else. And on top of that, his nurses are vastly over worked. All I can conclude is it's now about the money for him. My husband decided half way through this I would leave this review no matter if he got me pregnant or not because the care was so awful. We finally left, not pregnant. But not becoming pregnant is NOT why this review is being left. It is the level of care, or lack there of should I say.

My husband and I wasted 3+ years of precious time and an exorbitant amount of money with Dr Ku. As this was the first clinic and RE we ever worked with, we made it a point to go into the process with open minds and without preconceived notions or high expectations. Being older, we knew the odds when we walked in for our consultation. Initially Dr. Ku was warm, friendly, confident, and professional. During our time with him, the confidence and professionalism began to wane. We had a natural pregnancy and three frozen transfers, two of which resulted in pregnancies. Unfortunately, all my pregnancies ended in miscarriages before week 9. Following my last positive transfer, and subsequent miscarriage, I was taken to one of the consult rooms where Dr. Ku proceeded to tell me that it would be in my best interest to either remove a few minor fibroids (which did not pose a threat to getting pregnant or sustaining a pregnancy) or "borrow a uterus" before attempting another transfer. This is verbatim what he told me just moments after his staff confirmed in my last ultrasound (before graduating from the clinic) that my baby no longer had a heartbeat and while in the presence of a family member who was there for moral support. I was taken aback by the unprofessional and callous nature in which Dr. Ku engaged with me after years of believing in him and his capabilities. My relative also thought the way in which I was treated was utterly distasteful. I no longer wanted to put my faith into and money towards someone who could treat a client that way. That same night, I found CRE in Dallas. The following month, my husband and I had a consult with Dr. Saleh, transferred our records and embryos and never looked back. I was given a simple test that confirmed the 'issue' behind our recurrent miscarriages, followed our new protocol and got pregnant after our first transfer with CRE. Twelve months after leaving Dallas IVF, I delivered a healthy baby girl at term and without complications. Oh and my minor fibroids are still in place! Staring into the eyes of my plump 3-month old today made me think about what life would look like had I followed Dr. Ku's advise or had I not the courage to find a more understanding, competent, and compassionate RE. I write this review not to bash Dr. Ku but to relay my experiences and encourage others who may be questioning their quality of care to advocate for themselves. My situation was complex. It's just unfortunate that Dr. Ku was unable to properly diagnose me. In the end, I found someone who could. It was a gamble, but one that was worth it and paid off in more ways than I can count. Please do not give up. You owe it to yourselves to keep moving forward. This process is stressful (and expensive) enough. Why not enjoy it as much as you can and spend your hard earned money more wisely?
