Samin is really patient and goes at the pace you are looking to go. I felt comfortable expressing my discomforts and areas I wanted to work on. He guided me through those uncomfortable areas and I felt more confident leaving the beginner class knowing I can get on again! read more

I possess an M1 endorsement but haven't ridden in about 15 years. Samin was patient and did a great job of guiding me through skill refreshment. I highly recommend him. He was timely and communicative. read more

Super bummed out that I chose to make an appointment with Samin. I believe his practice is extremely unethical and I'm very surprised at the number of good reviews. He asked me to schedule a second appt with him for one week out and so I did. I got pneumonia and let him know more than 24 hour in advance that we may need to reschedule. He called me at 9:30 at night, which I didn't answer, as I was in bed with pneumonia. When I called him back he explained that he takes the full amount of $225 when someone cancels or reschedules no matter the reason. It is common business practice to take a percentage or a "late cancellation fee", and that is completely understandable. to me. But to take the entire amount no matter what just seems incredibly slimy. I could never do that to another person. Very unfortunate, huge waste of money. DO not recommend because god forbid anything happens in your life, he doesn't care and will take the full amount. read more

I'm not much of yelper, as their business practices are trash, but the lesson with Samin was so good; I needed somewhere to rave. If you are considering it, I highly recommend pulling the trigger. Samin immediately made me feel at ease. He was knowledgeable and detailed, without going too in depth. Can't wait to ride again. 10/10, worth every penny! read more

I failed my CMSP range test and hired Samin to help me prepare for the re-take, and then passed the same day. Great experience with Samin overall. The class atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, and easy to follow unlike CMSP Motorcycle safety training course where instructor Angela was the worst and the motorcycles were so old and beat up they kept dying on us. Samin's motorcycle, on the contrary, was in a great condition and so much easier to learn on. Highly recommend! read more

Unfortunately, I don't recommend. While he has a policy that he keeps your full lesson cost of $115 and refuses to reschedule if you need to change plans anything less than a full 7-day week in advance (regardless of reason--I'd been in an accident and broke a rib and tailbone), he is unreliable and forgets appointments he's confirmed and cancels last minute on you without hesitation. (Said he forgot and decided to go out of town.) His "courtesy" was to charge me to reschedule and then flake on our next appointment (but reschedule fee still applied even though he flaked on me). His explanation was it was a courtesy to let me reschedule at all because of his 7-day rule. I find it egregious to keep full payment without rescheduling for any change inside of a full week. Be warned. Once you pay him anything, you're already screwed because of inflexibility and ridiculously stringent policies. I'll find someone else who is reliable and keeps their commitments at least as well as they demand their customers do. read more

Samin is the man! Highly, highly recommended!! How to explain the training you get in just three words? Understandable, doable and fun! How describe Samin in three words? Professional, attentive and knowledgeable. I found Samin in a Google search for motorcycle classes because I was looking to finally get my first motorcycle and M1 endorsement on my driver's license. Being an older guy, I was looking for some one-on-one training so I could pass the DMV test. First lesson was awesome! So was the second and the third. My confidence level of riding grew exponentially each time. He teaches the basics and real world things. So, instead of taking the DMV test, I decided to take a CMSP course to satisfy my state skills requirements. What Samin taught me put me way ahead of my fellow students in the course! It felt so assuring knowing already what they were teaching. There was no pressure of that steep learning curve! Instead of being stressed, I was having fun. When it came to test time, I had it down. I fully owe it to Samin and give him full credit to my success! Now, I'm riding my new bike and cruising like I dreamed of doing. I highly recommend Samin, he is worth more than what he is asking for his time. Don't miss out, give him a shot! I'm gonna hit him up to see if he wants to go for a ride! ;) read more

Samin - First day, first lesson with Samin! What a great time! - Driving Schools Near Me

First off, Samin is an excellent instructor and was able to get me on the bike in a matter of a few minutes of instruction. I've had my license for a few years, but it's been way too long since I've ridden. After the first 20 minutes of clutching the front brake with a death grip (due to fear), Samin had me comfortably ride around without a hitch. I highly suggest in purchasing 2 lessons at once (90mins of riding instruction), as it pays off to put more time behind the bike with his supervision. He also goes more in depth with shifting gears, slow turns, head placement, and all the other works (YMMV as I've already ridden before). At the end of the day, I was ecstatic to be on the bike again and I wouldn't have second guessed my decision in taking his lessons. He's a super down to earth guy and highly knowledgeable of the hobby. Plus, he takes some wicked photos! read more

I don't think I can add any more praise than all the other 5 start reviews on here. They are all warranted - Samin is an excellent teacher through and through!! I had already passed the MSF, got my license, and bought my bike when I came in for lessons. I knew the bare basics and wanted to ride but needless to say I was nowhere near ready to handle my bike on the streets. Two lessons in, including one riding around SD, and thanks to Samin's focused and patient teaching I'm already doing much better, enough to commute and ride solo. I for one am going to keep coming back and build on what I've learned. Conclusion: I couldn't have asked for a better guy than Samin to teach me to ride! P.S.: he will take some pretty awesome pictures of you! P.S.S.: he's also a super fun guy, and makes ridding with him and communicating via walkie-talkie a blast! read more

Well.... I'm always a bit leery when you have a service type business (such as lessons) that has all 5star reviews in a relatively short time frame. In this case, Samin has earned em for sure. I am 100% new to motorcycles in general and I received a 90min lesson as an amazing gift this year. My intention was to get a feel for motorcycles and see if this is something I want to pursue. And I was able to do just that. Samin was able to take a total newby like me and in one 90min session get me doing circles in the parking lot even shifting gears. Kind of :). Now lets be clear, it takes alot more than 90min to become even a basic rider, but Samin had a great way in which he taught the needed skills all while allowing me to go at my own pace. I'm looking forward to my next lesson and getting farther "down the road" on a motorcycle soon! read more

Looking for a trainer who is *Patient *Professional *Personable *wears Crocs Look no further This is your guy! I had no motorcycle experience before coming here, and now I am confidently riding my bike in second gear after only two lessons. I can't emphasize how much I recommend Samins classes. read more

Showed for a first lesson with Samin, very pleasant guy. He had a no pressure vibe and as beginner rider, a no pressure instructions is what you need to keep first time ridding jitters down. If you are a new rider he's definitely your guy, he presents the riding info as simple as can be, even a cave man should be able ride after a lesson with him. I recommend him! Mr.J read more

Iv'e always wanted to learn how to ride, but didn't know anyone that could teach me, and didn't want to go to an official course without having even sat on a bike before. True to his website Samin customizes his lesson plan for those with 0 experience. He is super friendly, calm, and has an ipad/surface pro or something which he uses to explain concepts and help you visualize what he wants you to do( which is cool as F). He used a rebel300 I believe and he provided the helmet. DEFINITELY worth checking out if you never even sat on a bike and don't even know how to turn on a bike Oh, and lastly be took some pics and sent them to me after the lesson which is pretty sick. read more

A complete beginner and contacted Samin to see if I could finally get this skill under my belt. After lesson one I was already starting, stopping and making turns with unexpected comfort. He has a well-structured plan to get you progressing through the basics. I also can't say enough about what a genuinely pleasant guy he is to meet and have teaching you. You will be kept encouraged and inspired to become a full-fledged rider. I'm on track to start street practice and will absolutely continue with Samin to build on this experience! read more

Samin is awesome!! Extremely patient, calm, and knowledgeable. He explains everything well and makes sure you are comfortable with the techniques no matter how simple or difficult they are. He wants to make sure you grasp the concepts and safely implement them to your riding. He's also very accommodating and I can't thank him enough for fitting me into his busy schedule. I had purchased a motorcycle before taking my first lesson and he was understanding and did everything he could to get me ready in three lessons. I picked up my bike today and rode around for 2 hrs. Had a blast! read more

This review is hella late. I took a class from him probably more than a year ago now! I have taken every single motorcycle class in San Diego. I mean I've spent more on lessons that I have on my entire bike. I never felt confident enough to get on the road, so I just kept taking lessons. I signed up for a lesson from Samin, it was by far the best lesson I've had. I learned more from him in an hour than I had in a three day course. I was super impressed, he made riding feel approachable, fun, and safer. Highly recommended. Might need to hit him up for lesson 2! read more

If you are looking for a 1 on 1 lesson for riding a motorcycle, Samin is the right guy! Very patient and has the right knowledge to give you enough confidence to ride a motorcycle. I did the 90min session and I can say that its totally worth it! read more

As a first-ride motorcycle rider I did my homework to find a more thorough and guided experience than a motorcycle-license school so I could learn at my own pace; I found Samin and saw the reviewspositive, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I showed up as scheduled on my first 90 minute session and Samin proceeded to give a a detailed orientation and guide me with some basic, common-sense hands-on training as he instructed incrementally on each exercise we did. The training was very logical, built upon itself, and he would conclude each exercise with a review of things he noted that were positive and things to guide improvement that he noticed. In particular, Samin does a great job breaking down complexities into very simple steps that any novice such as myself can follow. After one 90 minute session I was shifting gears, braking ahead and accelerating into turns, and doing left and right turns and practicing good turning habits. After a second 90 minute session I was practicing emergency stopping with rear-wheel braking, fast starts (i.e. throttling from a stop quickly), downshifting, and doing tight circles on the bike. His teaching style is adept for beginners and he knows how to give you the right amount of information broken into digestible chunks so you don't overthink it, but are well prepared for each exercise you take on. If you're looking to get started on motorcycles with personalized, comprehensible, and thoughtful instruction, I recommend Samin 100%. read more

First time ever on a motorcycle and it was amazing. Samin is a wonderful teacher, quick to respond when i first sent text inquiry and had me on a bike within a week. I highly recommend one-one-one training with Samin. Plus he snapped some pictures, very nice touch! read more

I'm really glad that I found Samin's website and reached out to him for private lessons! The lessons were truly personalized and I was able to work on things that I needed the most to ride safely on the STREET - things not covered in most riding classes. I wanted to practice on my own bike, and Samin was able to coming to me with a small fee. I had a lot of questions and Samin was really patient answering all of them. He really understands beginners' struggles and gives excellent advice. Always well prepared for lessons, collects and give feedback afterwards! P.S. thanks a lot for the professional quality photos of me riding. They are awesome!!! read more

Strongly recommend Samin for anyone trying to learn how to ride a motorcycle! Very professional and Companionate. I needed to polish my skills before riding on the streets and he sure was the right guy for me . read more

SAMIN is the best!!! For my birthday, I received a Vespa and, to be honest, was petrified. I had no idea where to even begin, so I did a google search and found Samin. From the get-go, he was amazing. His first text immediately put me at ease. I then spoke with him by phone and he patiently answered my bazillion and one questions. Then came the day of my first lesson. My heart was racing, and my adrenaline was soaring. Samin was fantastic. He totally understood that this 50yo mama was both excited as nervous as hell. Samin went over every part of the bike with me, assuring me the entire time that I could do this. By then end of day two, I was cruising around the parking lot with ease. I still have a ways to go to get comfy on the streets, but I know Samin will get me there! read more

I needed a refresher as the last I was on a bike was over two years ago, I opted for two sessions which I highly recommend. Samin was super friendly and informative. He started with all the controls on the motorcycle followed by demos. The best thing is that you learn at your own pace, he teaches you the basics so you get to practice it and feel comfortable then he moves you onto something else. He was super helpful when I asked him for tips about buying a motorcycle. Nevertheless I left feeling pretty confident and ready to ride on a motorcycle of my own. Would definitely recommend him! read more

I am biased, I am a friend of the instructor, but the man is passionate about riding and you can easily tell that he loves what he does. He focuses on creating safe motorcyclists instead of becoming a license workshop like other schools. He's very knowledgeable and easy to follow. I was able to pick up most of what I'll ever need to know about riding in just the first couple hours. And if you stick around long enough he may even do a wheelie or two for ya. P.S. Does the instructor even lift?? read more

I reached out to Samin to surprise my husband and set up lessons. Samin was extremely punctual and answered all of my questions and set up a time, no problem! After the class my husband told me Samin was an excellent instructor that was very patient and modified his lessons at your own pace. He covered everything including basics, safety, etc. and helps you feel very comfortable. Afterwards, Samin followed up with great information in regards to questions we had and even sent us a couple of great photographs that he captured during the lesson! Absolutely recommend and can't say enough about his professionalism and expertise on the subject! Thanks Samin!! read more

Had my first lesson today. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and easy to understand. He explained each step thoroughly followed by a demonstration. He made me feel very relaxed and personalized his riding experiences making it comfortable to ask questions. As a beginner I took the two season option which I highly recommend. The additional session helped me build on my confidence riding the bike. I really appreciated the one on one instruction. I believe I picked up on key areas twice as fast with the focus being just on me. The one on one instruction for the price is a great value. Highly recommend especially for beginners like myself. I will continue to take lessons with this instructor in preparation for the road test and beyond. read more

Samin is a great instructor, teaches safety and shifting basics in positive learning experience. Easy to follow steps and the 1 to 1 teaching, I feel benefits the rider. Rather than traditional group setting. Fits the lesson to the individual, since already have a license and did the group training. Wanted shifting practice and advanced techniques, since I have been a Vespa 250 and ZNEN 150 scooter rider for 2 years. Taught me the shifting, was confident quickly. I plan to take another 90 minute session - for additional training. As he states in his lessons and videos, more knowledge creates a safer and more aware rider. I 100% agree. I would and have already been suggesting to friends to take his class for their license training and to learn as much safety as possible from Samin. Would actually give him 10 stars, if we were allowed. read more

Money well spent! As expected based on the other reviews, Samin is super chill and subscribes to a take-it-slow approach. I've had my license for a while but haven't done much riding so my confidence was low and my experience limited. He brought headsets too, which was a wonderful surprise. We could talk about everything in real time without having to pull over. He also let me determine the focus of my training. There were skills I needed to work on to better navigate my neighborhood like hills, curvy roads and even my tricky driveway. He was sensible and encouraging which gave me confidence in him as well as myself. He knew what I was capable of even if I had momentary doubts and it was a fantastic experience. You can't have too much training or too much practice. I highly recommend you include Samin in your journey to becoming a better rider. Good luck and be safe! read more

I can't recommend Samin highly enough. From booking to end of class, he rocks. My class started at 2 and he had already been there all day in the hot sun and yet I feel I received his 100% of his attention. Further, Samin's teaching skills are fantastic for someone so young. He articulated every step of the lesson clearly and with explanation as to why. This coupled with the right sized bike and length of class was a perfect combination for any new rider or someone who's trying to refresh their skills. Great guy. Very personable. I'll definitely take my guyutr classes with him and will recommend him highly to anyone. read more

Samin is awesome. I was so nervous driving up for the lesson and he quickly put me at ease clearly explaining everything about the bike and had me seated in it and moving within in 10 min of the lesson. We advanced through the basics at my pace and by the end of our first lesson I was riding around the lot with confidence. Did a second lesson with Samin and it was even better learning how to shift gears and basic throttle control. I highly recommend Samin to anyone with zero experience like myself riding a motorcycle. I now have a ton of confidence going for my actual license. read more

Samin was a great instructor; he provided personal experience and anecdotes with each new task or maneuver we completed so you could really understand what he meant. I did 2 lessons and it went great! I was nervous to learn to ride especially in a group setting since I wasn't sure how quickly I would be able to learn to ride comfortably, so the one on one learning is perfect. I felt like I could ask as many questions as I wanted without feeling like I was being rushed along. Samin is an excellent teacher and is very patient. I can't imagine a better person to learn from. He was very knowledgeable, and uses illustrations and demonstrations to teach which is helpful for someone like me who tends to zone out if someone just talks about what to do.
