Driving Eric Crazy - She passed on the first test! - Driving Schools Near Me

We had such a great experience with Driving Eric Crazy! Our instructor Keiki was fantastic - very informative, encouraging, energetic, and so easy to talk to. He gave my son really practical tips that actually helped him feel prepared and confident going into his DMV driving test, and he passed at the San Ysidro DMV! Keiki is super communicative and you can tell he genuinely cares about his students succeeding. Highly recommend if you're looking for a driving instructor who is patient, positive, and knows his stuff. read more

exceptional service and professionalism. From my very first interaction, i knew this was the place I can trust with my daughter and have great results. Josie explained the menu of services (single, multi sessions, pricing and structure), what to expect from it all and was an overall pleasure to interact with. Mikayla is an asset to this business, my daughter really valued the time spent with her and learned so much. She gained confidence along the way with her driving and this was all due to the style of teaching from Mikayla. Since I lived in downtown, Mikayla was able to pick up my daughter for instruction and schooled her with all the ins and outs of the dreaded DMV driving exam. Like most people, i kept asking myself "does my daughter really need this? I can drive, why cant i teach her?" ... well yes, but I can assure you we don't all drive the way the DMV handbook lays it out and what they actually test for... so do yourself a favor and hire the pros! I cannot stress enough, learning from an actual instructor who knows what to expect from the DMV will be the difference maker in having a successful result. Fast forward to yesterday and my daughter passed her driving exam!!! Thank you Josie and Mikayla for being part of this important milestone, you two are the best. Be sure to check them out!! =) read more

My second daughter had Mikayla as her instructor. She was so friendly and made the process easy and smooth. After their lessons they would give recommendations on what they should work on and would give wonderful suggestions. Josie schedules the appointments and is such a sweetheart. We used Driving Eric Crazy for our first driver and it was great and now we are using them again for our daughter. Super easy to coordinate times, easy communication and great availability. Just a quick update to our original 5-star review to ADD another 5-star review!! Our younger son just passed his behind the wheel test at Clairemont DMV with ZERO errors/deductions. He said that Rainier trained and prepared him well. His final lesson was 2 weeks ago, and they did a few routes of "mock testing" at the DMV on a Sunday when the DMV was closed. My first son had Eric as an instructor, and my second son had Rainier. We have had an excellent experience all around with Driving Eric Crazy and recommend them to all our friends who are looking for a referral. We are thrilled with the results and can confidently say that our older son (now 18 years old) is a fantastic and safe driver -- in fact, the ongoing chatter in his friend group is that he's by far the best driver of all his other teenage friends! Do yourself a favor and call Josie and schedule Driving Eric Crazy for your son or daughter!! You can't put a price on a safe, confident new driver. read more

I'm so grateful we found Mikayla at **Driving Eric Crazy**. Our daughter was extremely nervous for her behind-the-wheel driver's exam, and in general she's not a great test taker -- but Mikayla completely changed the experience for her. Mikayla was able to meet with her the morning of the test for a two-hour lesson, and it made all the difference. She helped our daughter feel calm, confident, and truly prepared. What really stood out was how Mikayla coached her through the route the DMV personnel would take her on, which helped take away so much of the uncertainty and anxiety. They took the route several times to get her comfortable and familiar with changing traffic activity. By the time the lesson was over, our daughter felt comfortable and ready -- and she passed! Mikayla was also punctual and professional. And honestly, I think her youth helped her connect with our daughter in a way that made her feel more at ease right away. Her approach is patient, supportive, and confidence-building. If you have an anxious or shy teen (or any teen who needs a calm, encouraging instructor before their test), I highly recommend Mikayla. read more

I was a little bit nervous because I heard that Keiki was a new instructor and I knew I was already an anxious driver. However, Keiki is very calm, friendly and kind person to talk to. He makes it easy to feel comfortable driving and he even got me to go on the freeway a few times with minimal stress. I am also in my early 20s, so I'm grateful that they accommodate all ages and Keiki never once made me feel bad for starting a little later. The prices were really great and when I wasn't able to pay right away, we figured out a system that worked out for everyone, and they treated it like it was no hassle. I was able to get my license after months of hard work. Keiki was always an amazing instructor and I cannot recommend him enough! read more

Been meaning to post this review for a while. I had two of my boys go through behind-the-wheel training with Driving Eric Crazy and both passed with flying colors the first time! I was trying to rush one of my boys through because he was in the middle of volleyball season and his schedule was very busy, but Josie advisede that the tests were backed up 2 months and to schedule my son's drive test now and they would have him ready. This worked out much better. They are flexible and work around your schedule, a great family buisness and will continue to recommend to friends looking for an affordable and reputable driving instructor. read more
