Once we contacted Hans to initiate the job, I asked that we meet again and walk through the bid and discuss the details regarding changes to the plans from the original bid. A new bid was provided and we initiated the job for the rough in electrical. Hans was great to work with on allowing me to do some of the work myself to save some money, like installing the recessed lighting and placing of the electrical boxes. As we installed the boxes and lights, there were some changes we made to than what were on the plans, like placement and adding a few extra boxes which made sense that weren't on the plans. I had communicated with Hans regarding the changes and he acknowledged and didn't mention a difference in cost. His installers were great to work with and seemed to do a good job. Once the rough in was complete, I was sent an invoice for the amount quite a bit higher than the bid. As I had changed some of the locations and added a few lights and boxes, I didn't expect such a high increase in the cost. I ended up paying the full amount I was billed after some discussion, because he wasn't willing to drop the price. I was very accommodating to his team to help save them time and money, especially after they left a lot of extra wire, tools and some needed changes to pass inspection. There were no concessions on his side to make any adjustments to the price. As HB Electric was the company who did the rough in, I continued to communicate with Hans periodically regarding the finish electrical once I was ready. He acknowledged all along that he would be able to complete the work once the painting was complete. I gave Hans a heads up with 2 week notice of our completion and to get on the schedule for the electrical and he said he would pencil us in for the time I predicted we would finish. My wife and family had stayed up many nights until 1-2am to complete the work needed so we could hit he timeline we promised Hans and make sure we could hit the timeline he agreed. I gave Hans another notice 1 day prior to completion and asked to get on his schedule. I had emailed and texted him many times without a response until I asked him if he was still interested in completing the job. He responded in the text that he could fit us on the schedule in about a month. As we have been working to hit a timeline to close on a loan for our home and plans to have HB Electric finish the work they started, I am very disappointed in the unprofessional actions of Hans. I would steer clear if this company as they will say one thing and do something else. Find someone who is more reliable and up front so you don't have any surprises.

When I inquired re. the cost, I received no response. My advice: definitely get two or more bids on any job before hiring this company and be cautious about lump sum bids.

Being the middle of summer we were pressured by the realtor to replace the AC and the furnace (because of the age of it) before our closing date just 3 weeks away. I reach out to Technicool and they called me within hours, sent a technician on the same day to diagnose, and then set an appointment a week and a half later to replace our whole system. Their communication through the whole process was excellent and they even left all the warranty information for the new homeowners to pick up where we left off. They truly were lifesavers for us in a tight situation. To top it off I had gotten bids for a full system replacement about 4 months prior before we decided to sell our home and the pricing we received at that point was $1500 to $3000 over my final cost with Technicool.
