One of several of the projects they recently helped us with was correcting a shortcut made by the electrician (from another company) who wired our home during its construction. Our home-build electrician neglected to make our whole-home surge protection unit visible without needing to remove an electrical panel using tools. Whole-home surge protectors should be checked regularly to ensure they are still protecting your home (the green protected status light should be on). Aloha moved and attached this protector unit from the inside of the electrical panel to the exterior of the electrical panel (the way the protectors are designed to be), so now we can actually see it by simply walking by it. It was a relatively simple and quick fix, but a good example of Aloha noticing a shortcut our other electrician took and offering to fix it/improve it for us. Aloha doesn't take shortcuts. They treat your home as if it were their home. I wish we would have had Aloha Electric wire our entire home at construction. They care soooo much more about doing a good job and what would be optimal for the owner of the home. We have a lot more house-wide electrical projects that we'll be using Aloha for. Mostly correcting things that were too complicated for our home-build electrician, who complained that things like fan and light timer switches, dimmer switches, and USB outlets are too complicated and tried to persuade us either not to do them in all or to do less of them. Even though we had planned out the locations (with specific usages in mind) years in advance and indicated these types of things on our home's detailed electrical floor plan, many did not get done the way we requested. I wish we had found an electrician like Aloha who would listen and shared our vision sooner. Aloha has done great with each of the jobs they've done for us so far. It's clear they take pride in what they do and aim to give you what you want for a reasonable cost. I would highly recommend them for big, tiny, and anything in between electrical jobs.

Scott also realized I might write a review and sent back $100, but the principle of deceit and overcharging does not change. Scott, unlike the electrician he contracted to do the work, was not nice to work with. He quoted me $220 for each outlet to be installed in our home. I asked for confirmation it would still be $220 because when they came out to quote they mentioned it would be difficult, he told me it would stay the same. It was a difficult job, that I can understand, Scott then proceeded to message me the next morning informing me the price had changed to $340. WHAT? I understand that quotes change but not by 50% without prior approval. He then proceeded to try to claim my fiancé approved it (NOPE!!) and then tried to guilt me that most people would be ok with paying it, knowing it was difficult. I'm not trying to be mean, I want to pay people for their work, but I also asked him for an itemized quote for labor and materials and he was unable to provide it... because he probably knew his initial charge was way more even than than a reasonable hourly rate. Honestly, the worst tradesmen business I've worked with. I waited 1.5 weeks to write this because I wanted to make sure I wasn't just hurt. Once we contacted Hans to initiate the job, I asked that we meet again and walk through the bid and discuss the details regarding changes to the plans from the original bid. A new bid was provided and we initiated the job for the rough in electrical. Hans was great to work with on allowing me to do some of the work myself to save some money, like installing the recessed lighting and placing of the electrical boxes. As we installed the boxes and lights, there were some changes we made to than what were on the plans, like placement and adding a few extra boxes which made sense that weren't on the plans. I had communicated with Hans regarding the changes and he acknowledged and didn't mention a difference in cost. His installers were great to work with and seemed to do a good job. Once the rough in was complete, I was sent an invoice for the amount quite a bit higher than the bid. As I had changed some of the locations and added a few lights and boxes, I didn't expect such a high increase in the cost. I ended up paying the full amount I was billed after some discussion, because he wasn't willing to drop the price. I was very accommodating to his team to help save them time and money, especially after they left a lot of extra wire, tools and some needed changes to pass inspection. There were no concessions on his side to make any adjustments to the price. As HB Electric was the company who did the rough in, I continued to communicate with Hans periodically regarding the finish electrical once I was ready. He acknowledged all along that he would be able to complete the work once the painting was complete. I gave Hans a heads up with 2 week notice of our completion and to get on the schedule for the electrical and he said he would pencil us in for the time I predicted we would finish. My wife and family had stayed up many nights until 1-2am to complete the work needed so we could hit he timeline we promised Hans and make sure we could hit the timeline he agreed. I gave Hans another notice 1 day prior to completion and asked to get on his schedule. I had emailed and texted him many times without a response until I asked him if he was still interested in completing the job. He responded in the text that he could fit us on the schedule in about a month. As we have been working to hit a timeline to close on a loan for our home and plans to have HB Electric finish the work they started, I am very disappointed in the unprofessional actions of Hans. I would steer clear if this company as they will say one thing and do something else. Find someone who is more reliable and up front so you don't have any surprises.
