Captain Electric also tried to upwell me on adding new panels making changes to electric panel inside the house which had nothing to do with the hot tub and I said "no". Scott also realized I might write a review and sent back $100, but the principle of deceit and overcharging does not change. Scott, unlike the electrician he contracted to do the work, was not nice to work with. He quoted me $220 for each outlet to be installed in our home. I asked for confirmation it would still be $220 because when they came out to quote they mentioned it would be difficult, he told me it would stay the same. It was a difficult job, that I can understand, Scott then proceeded to message me the next morning informing me the price had changed to $340. WHAT? I understand that quotes change but not by 50% without prior approval. He then proceeded to try to claim my fiancé approved it (NOPE!!) and then tried to guilt me that most people would be ok with paying it, knowing it was difficult. I'm not trying to be mean, I want to pay people for their work, but I also asked him for an itemized quote for labor and materials and he was unable to provide it... because he probably knew his initial charge was way more even than than a reasonable hourly rate. Honestly, the worst tradesmen business I've worked with. I waited 1.5 weeks to write this because I wanted to make sure I wasn't just hurt.
