This is a hidden gem! Lovely atmosphere, friendly quick service and delicious food. They open for dinner at 7:00 pm, but are worth the wait!

We were staying at the Holiday Inn Express Airport, who recommended this restaurant and told us if we didn't have reservations make sure we were there at 7 when they opened. Even though it was a Sunday night we thought when we got to the restaurant the suggestion to get there by 7 was a joke, until from the time we arrived at 6:45 until they opened there had to be at least 60 people waiting for them to open and it was worth it. My wife had a pizza which must have been excellent as I have never seen her eat an entire pizza, while I had a calzone that was great. Of course the wine made the meal. We both said it was one of the best dinners we had during our two week stay in Italy and we ate well the entire stay. Highly recommend this jewel. read more

Looking for a late night snack, we walked a couple of blocks from the Holiday Inn to this restaurant. Surprisingly the place was quite busy in the wee hour of 11pm. We bought a porcini pizza. It's great! It. For 6.5 euro a pie, this is not a bad deal also. It can't go wrong you order a pizza in any italy restaurant. read more

Nice restaurant close to Malpensa airport. Located 5 minutes walking from the holiday Inn hotel. Our server was helpful and attentive to my needs. Prices was a little higher than other restaurants, but the food were large portions and delicious. read more

First of all we waited 1 hour to get seated. A group of 5 got seated before my group of 4. Then it took 45 minutes to get our food and the service is terrible we ask for a bottle of water and that took 20 minutes. The food was only ok. We sat down 10 minutes before this group of 3 and they got there food before we did. Never going hear again!!!! Do not go to this restaurant. read more

Our epic European tour ended with our most epic dinner at this restaurant. Featured beer served for my hubby and our friend was BOMB. And I don't even like beer! All our entrées were delicious- pasta was al dente, sauces were not salty and I finally had my Firenze Steak cooked exactly how I wanted it! The waiters speak English and service is topnotch. We came at 11 pm with a 1030 pm reservation and they didn't make us feel rushed. Close to 1 pm, drunk to our butts and well fed, the owner served limoncello 'on the house'. We were in Europe for two weeks, fine dined and tried the best food Europe has to offer-- but the experience we had at Samarcanda is one we most rave about! read more

Nice restaurant to have lunch. After 1pm it will be very busy so try to be there beforehand. I've been there now a few times and was never disappointed. For lunch they have special offers You can have two main meals + 1/2 bottle water + a coffee for 13,50EUR per person. read more

This restaurant is better than the restaurant in the Idea hotel. The waitress spoke pretty good English. They accept credit cards with no coperto, which is a huge plus! We had the Bomba pizza. The sausage on it was delicious. We also had spaghetti, which was like every other place in northern Italy. I had a virgin mojito, it was fresh and made in house. I highly recommend this place for dinner if you're staying in a hotel nearby. read more

my last night from traveling around Italy, and YOU are BY FAR the WORST place I've had the misfortune of being recommend to. I'm the CHINESE couple who was waiting for a table on 13th June at 8:00pm, you said 25mins I said ok, by 8:30 you've already seated 3 other couples that just walk in and yes I hear them ask for a table so they wasn't booked, I asked you politely how much longer, you said the next table was mine.. then what happens.. you sit another walk in couple.. you taking the piss mate.. anyone else had similar experience would know exactly what I think of this place, you keep your food I'll spend my money elsewhere, better still, I'd rather give it to the next beggar than spend it here. unless you're white or speak Italian..don't bother. read more

A must visit if staying at the Malpensa Holiday Inn Express. Prices were very reasonable for high quality food. Service was acceptable considering it was crowded the night we were there. I was told it gets crowded every night, that's how good it is. We had the flan alla ricotta, Stufato di daino, and the risotto allo speck formaggio bolzano. All were cooked to perfection, although I found the risotto to be on the salty side. But that was probably just me, as I eat fairly bland food most of the time. All in all, a great place at reasonable prices. Will go again if staying in the area again. read more

I was very excited to check this place out given the reviews were so high. Although the average was 4.5 stars, I'm going to give it 3. Its a 10 euro Uber ride from MXP. Don't try to walk there from MXP. We were seated very quickly upon arrival. The restaurant was above average busy for a Wednesday nite at 21:00, but our order wasn't taken for about 20-25 minutes, but we saw people who came in before us helped first, thats always a downer. The wine was average priced, and the cocktails (not the fancy ones) were pretty cheap. Good deal there. We ordered the bruschetta which was average bread + diced tomatoes, nothing mind blowing. Two pasta dishes on the traditional menu were ordered, and it was a good sized portion, was difficult to finish. I'd go again and try the pizza, but I'd just have a lower expectation of the overall experience. read more

Nice atmosphere and good food. Pizza are inexpensive and delicious. Hours are a bit sketchy. I recommend getting there early. I arrived at 7 PM and place was already half full. What a great find in a quiet neighborhood adjacent to Malpensa Airport! While looking for a nice place to have lunch before checking into our airport hotel for the night, I discovered Samarcanda on Yelp, and decided to give it a try. Their lunches were fresh, delicious, and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this place, and I will return soon! read more

Overall a solid 4. Waitstaff was attentive, Caprese salad - a bit disappointing - no sweet basil, 5 large green olives instead, mozzarella was a bit runny verses firm, grilled vegetables were nothing to write home about, but the Insalata mista was excellent and the pasta carbonara was exceptional! Nice atmosphere. Holiday Inn Express receptionist recommended this restaurant - it was a good choice. We'd go again if in the area. read more
