Connected to a lovely hotel, it has a captive audience for hotel guests because there just isn't much else. However, it's a lot more than this. Locals and businessmen come here...because it is really good. AMBIANCE/ENERGY/VIBE: it has it in abundance. Goodness all around. SERVICE: super friendly, super nice. Everyone at least attempts to speak various degrees of English, and is a willing participant. Staffed appropriately, there was always someone in the near distance to flag down. Did I say very nice? They are. Shout our to Fabio, who was super sweet, extremely likeable, talkative, and very helpful. FOOD: I tried a number of things, coming here both nights I stayed at the Hotel. The menu has 55 types of pizza (which is cray cray, and the website says over 100 types), salads, entrees such as various seafood & a couple of steaks, veal Milanese, pastas, and desserts. They have a full bar, wine, and beer. Lots of good things to try and choose from. 1. Mixed Salad [5 E, 5.0 stars] -- super fresh, totally delish. 2. Mixed Vegetables [5 E, 4.5 stars] -- a small plate of grilled vegetables, eggplant, zucchini, yellow & red peppers, and endive. 3. Tagliatelle Black Truffle [15 E, 4.5 stars] -- the gf and I split the dish, and they were nice enough to divide it into two in the kitchen...perfectly enough and good overall portion. Truffle pieces were a little tough, but wonderful overall. 4. Ricottina Pizza [10 E, 4.5 stars] -- Tomato, Mozzarella cheese, Fresh Ricotta, Sausage, dried tomatoes and rocket salad. Amazing crust, loved the toppings. 5. La Milanese [20 E, 4.0 stars] -- large piece with bone-in, perfectly fried served with freshly fried potatoes. 6. Mixed Gelato [5 E, 5.0 stars] -- chocolate, crema, lemon -- all amazing and housemade, but the lemon was best, tasted like lemon crème. 7. Panne Cotta with Berries [5 E, 4.5 stars] -- if you like this normally, it's quite wonderful. Totally worthy. OVERALL: I'll miss it. Very worthy and memorable, mostly the people. For this area, it's a 5.0 star experience.

In the past, the meal started with a nice variety of breads and chips at the table, so I was a little disappointed to see that replaced with a small bag of bread pieces. For my starter, I ordered the mixed fried fish. It was excellent--fresh, crispy, and delicious. My only disappointment was the lack of a good dipping sauce. Something like marinara, aioli, or another house-made sauce would have been perfect. The only options available were ketchup and mayonnaise, which seemed a little underwhelming for such a wonderful dish. For my entrée, I ordered the spaghetti with anchovies. Unfortunately, this course was a big disappointment. It looked wonderful when it arrived, but it just didn't live up to the expectations set by the many excellent meals I've had here over the years. The pasta was a bit too al dente for my taste, and overall, the dish simply didn't deliver the flavor or enjoyment I was expecting. I still have very fond feelings about this restaurant and hope tonight was simply an off night. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of the entree, but it was beautiful!

I went 1 night and the service was amazing and food delish. I was torn on trying the pasta or the meat. I got pasta! But when I left, the manager invited me back the next day. I actually went back and got the meat sampler. Amazing and such a great price. Both evenings, Fabio helped me and made great recommendations! Really appreciated him and the attentiveness of the rest of the team. Will definitely be back next time I'm here.

I ordered a seafood starter and seafood spaghetti with clams, etc, both quite good. For mains I had a perch, my wife had the duck. A critique would be that the mains perch and duck were both served luke warm. Tasted great but must have been a little kitchen delay in getting them to the table. We'd encourage them to work on that important timing a bit. Another is that the silverware was thin and round. While clearly high quality, it makes it very difficult to hold and turn. The servers all have heard this complaint before, quile not a reason to not dine here, they should be replaced. Desert was a small gelato and fruit dish, good. One issue that came up...remember that porcini starter our server recommended? When the check came there was a 100 euro charge. I pointed it out to the server who mentioned it was the starter pasta. My eyes blinked but I paid it since she seemed aware of it. Nicely, the restaurant did call me the next day and apologized profusely as this was clearly an error, the special porcini mushrooms w/pasta starter should have been 30 Euro. They quickly corrected the error and refunded the full amount. Very nice and thank you for that! We will be back to Urio next summer and will be sure to give Acquadulce another try and hope you do to! It's a lovely spot.

I made an early reservation, as I was hoping to go out and about after, so I got there close to when they opened and had the whole place to myself. They seated me on one of their balconies, with a beautiful view of the lake. I went right around sunset. The downside was that the mosquitos were out in full force. Luckily I had bug spray on me and doused myself. The food was fantastic. I wish I could have been there with more people to have shared other items. Going by myself made it hard to get multiple things as I only have so much room in my stomach. I got beef tenderloin which was very good and table side tiramasu, which was the highlight. There were so many things I wanted to try. This is definitely a cute little spot. The host joked about seating a party at George Clooney's regular table. I imagine this place gets fairly busy on weekends or later in the night, but earlier in the day a few of us had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Lake Como.

Hosterietta was a lovely decision! We decided to sit outside on a day where Satan had obvious controls of the thermostat. They were kind enough not to judge me for wiping the sweat from my brow so I didn't drip in my food. They brought me a fresh towel... and then likely judged me harshly behind closed doors... sorry folks, bad American manners but it was HOT! FORTUNATELY, they have lovely massive umbrellas outside to sit under, and they helped immensely! They have a wonderful menu, both in Italian and English. They have very accommodating staff that are quick to tell / share of their favorite menu items (I love it when they do this!). I actually chose my meal based on their recommendation. Forgive me for not remembering what I ordered. I did start with a salad... heads-up folks, if you start with a "starter salad"... it is enough for an entire meal! They recommended wine. The four of us planned to split one bottle... as you all can imagine... that didn't happen... after a few glasses each, we all left with smiles on our faces!
